Yeah, or really don't like the fact that they're using her as a marketing tool for their projects. I don't find it surprising, but I just don't think it's a good strategy; sure Taeyeon is their most marketable soloist rn, but she debuted her solo career las year, and at this stage, doing well matters. What worries me the most is that they seem to just throw hinge at her instead of building a clear musical identity, which matters a lot for a new artist. Her mini was mostly made of mid to slow tempo songs, so I hope her second mini doesn't clash too much with that, or at least that the public isn't turned off by that.

Sounds like an interesting concept, I'll definitely check it out. There are some really good strategy-oriented korean shows, when will my country.

Taeyeon was sick during this period (she was sick a lot last year actually iirc), so I think the sore throat has more to do with that. her short promos were imo because of the timing: she had agit concerts to do right away, and then preparation for Phantasia, so that just didn't leave much time for music shows, unfortunately. I doubt Taeyeon will go for variety yeah (though I'd love to see her on God of Music, that show is great); if we're lucky we might get some radio promo and Sketchbook. Her schedule is quite packed in July, since she has concerts and a week after, SMTown, and with Exo comeback, I'm afraid she'll get some really short promo as well (because I don't see SM making them overlap right away).

Tiffany had great promo though? There was mediaplay every month since like september 2015 about her upcoming solo, she got a variety show and had the bonus of the battle vs Jessica. Taemin got more teasers and all but that's building hype in the short-term and it's not always the most important thing (and if you've been building hype for months, you don't really need it, see Taeyeon's debut). Taeyeon and Exo have different appeals and a different public so they're not going to be promoted in the same way and that's not necessarily a bad thing; if there's anything to worry about, it's the digital competition.

Dear Santa was half ballads, half Ariana Grande-ish songs though, and that's the style they went with for Holler (Eyes, Stay, which are terrible songs btw) as well, so I assume they're going to keep going in the same direction, with too-high notes and bad runs (see Dear Santa the song, Taeyeon's runs were the only decent ones). But that's a matter of taste obviously, and I'm sure a lot of people enjoy that style of music (and obviously, they all still have very nice tones so it's not like it's bad, I just wish they'd get better music you know)

No she didn't, that was a mistranslation. If TTS do come back, they better come up with something better than Holler and their christmas EP. I love all the members in TTS, but there are like two decent songs on these two albums (combined).

I honestly love group activities but it's a bit tiring to see how upset some people get at the notion of Taeyeon having solo activities and releasing music, when she really doesn't do much usually (but I guess that's because most people get into kpop for music and don't care as much for say acting activities or variety, and feel like musical stuff is what matters most, which is not true). We know how much age matters in the industry, and she needs to establish herself, so I'm all for a ton of activities, the only reserve being that she gets sick seemingly all the time these days.

This way of thinking is seriously embarrassing. Just butting in (I'm a lurker, even though I don't post here), but I think the overdefensiveness over Taeyeon displayed by some users against trolls or simply people who don't like Taeng is both useless and counterproductive; useless because trolls won't care, and counterproductive because seeing fans being aggressive isn't very appealing to outsiders (especially when there's a weird troll with twenty dps going around defending taeyeon and attacking other idols; it's just not a very good look).

I think Taeyeon and Tiffany make cute friends, but some taeny shippers are really fucking stupid. they treat both girls like shit, in different ways; Tiffany is seen as the 'straight girl' (yeah, I know), so they see her more as the object of the affection of Taeyeon, who is supposed to be the gay(er) one or whatever (and the worst part is that even some shippers who claim to bias Tiffany do that, and there are some popular and really sad examples). now for taeyeon, most of them try to find proof that she's 'manly' (their words), and hence a lesbian; there's also quite a bit of weird misgendering going on (like some people think she has a 'bulge', which???). she's also perceived as someone who can't live without Tiffany, and who's pretty much pathetic in her dependence to her. I wish I could say I've seen decent romantic shippers buuut. It isn't helping that some senpai sone are taeny shippers and accordingly suck (hating on their ex bfs for example)

It's disappointing that some people (as a lurker I think it's just a small minority though, you shouldn't feel unwelcome) feel the need to talk shit about him when he really hasn't done anything wrong except being involved in a stupid controversy with taeng -just like it's disappointing when his fans bash taeyeon for the same thing. My post wasn't directed at you by the way, and I see nothing wrong with what you posted before, really; I just felt like posting a reminder that not everything means something (or means what you think it means or what you want to think it means), because misinterpretations can have dire consequences. Hi thread, I usually lurk here but I can't help but intervene in this conversation. It's only shady if you want it to find it shady tbh. You can always find links between things which actually have none, just by looking for it (correlation =/ causality basically). Considering the number of Taeng's ~hidden messages~ were inflated by thirsty fangirls, and considering the backlash she got for it, you'd have to assume she's incredibly dumb to think she's sending messages now, and moreover not to the man she's in a public relationship with. And by the way, seeing how thirsty people are to bash Tae, this would have been brought up if it even had an inch of credibility.
