  1. Naomi Watts is a great actress but the projects she chooses are always so... bad? It's sorta sad to see the difference in recognition between her and actresses her generation, or younger, when she's so talented and deserving of great parts. Like, choose your scripts better girl.
  2. idols who try too hard to act 'sexy' get incredibly cringy and embarrassing. actual sexiness is natural, not forced; gimmicks, like lip bites since they are the most overused ones, don't make you sexy. a good example of that is bae jinyoung in hands on me, but he's just a kid, so i mostly feel bad for him. there is no excuse, however, for shit like this:
  3. This. Honestly, BP as a whole gets by thanks to YG's marketing and people's thirst for a yg gg. Rosé sounds like any other indie singer (and no, her voice isn't 'unique', she uses a very common, very reproductible style), Jisoo sucks at pretty much everything, and Jennie is the kind of kpop triple threat that is incredibly mediocre at everything. Shows that image is everything in pop music
  4. do broduce101 fans realize that the reason s2 is so successful is because s1 (with more talented, more personable, less messy contestants) fought the actual uphill battle and managed to turn a wtf concept into an interesting tv show?
  5. i don't think that user is a troll... and like, we should be able to have differing/unpopular opinions and discussions about why a song is performing a certain way. Plus I did see some people complain about taeyeon straining or yelling when the song was released (which again, she isn't -it's the production). I'm not sure it's the reason for the longevity of the song though, since 'I' had a yodely chorus that could become grating too and it had great longevity, or to take another example, Winner's RR is full of strain (Seungyoon's parts) and it has great longevity (though helphed by the promo).
  6. ^there's no yelling in the song though (as in she herself didn't record it screaming, and she doesn't yell during live perfs). they chose to use saturation on her voice to fit with the pop/rock vibe of the song, and yeah, that's a bit grating after a while. I personnally enjoy her slower r'n'b/ballads more than the pop/rock songs (sans Time Lapse) so I wish she'd go with that for her future singles/title tracks tbh. Esp considering her fav songs are like Gemini and Sweet Love.
  7. Jaehwan is not a bad singer but all of his high notes in Never were painfully strained (i mean, it's not his fault because they were hard to hit, but like, stop praising something that so obviously not good). Also I still don't get the JR hype. He's a bad rapper with an ugly voice and getting that high just because he has ~leadership qualities (which, as showcased by Nu'est flopping, aren't really that vital for an idol group) that he had the chance to experience for 5 years is just
  8. when will ugly snsd stans stop misgendering taeyeon? girl has stated several times she didn't like being called an oppa but who cares, right? not being able to handle the fact you find a woman attractive isn't an excuse for being a sexist shithead. also if i see one more post about her ~muscles (which is really just a disguised way to call her manly, lbr) take a fucking anatomy class. or lose weight, maybe you'll understand how fat works and all
  9. P101's Sungwoon (hotshot guy) can't sing. He's literally just screaming his way through songs. Also idg why people are so against Dongho getting in the group when he's the only Nu'Est guy who's interesting talent-wise (since he's one of the best singers competing)
  10. I'm tired of people acting like their faves are the second coming of Beethoven when they've co-composed two songs. Like, it just reminds me of what Jinyoung said about composing a hit while playing around with his software, without knowing what he was doing at all -it's not that hard to make a song (see how ikon and winner worked during WIN -again, it was mostly computer-based), what's hard is to make a non-generic, original, well-written song. Something that doesn't sound like it was churned out by a computer. Same goes for lyrics writing -it's not hard to write lyrics, it's hard to write good lyrics. Ones that aren't too literal, that show finesse, which are a way to show your personality (which is what art is about).
  11. I liked her early 2015 face best tbh. She's still v cute now, but she looked even better when her corners weren't cut and with her old eyelids. I'd say this year is an improvement over last year though, she's way less bloated
  12. I actually like Curtain Call the best out of the 3 new songs, she sounds great on it. Still boggles my mind how people pretend she hasn't improved vocally (or that she's regressed compared to her debut years lmao)
  13. Hype doesn't necessarily mean good results and the reverse is true. Iirc, there wasn't that much hype about 11:11 because it was announced on very short notice, and it still doing well. I worry more about how the song is going to sound tbh
  14. Kinda conflicted because I don't think any of her fans have money left lol But I'm really glad she's going to keep on releasing music, and the concept looks very promising.
  15. Taeyeon's always had her lip corners turned that way though - but she might have accentuated it. I don't think she did her jaw either, because fans have been obsessed with her jawline for years and it looks pretty much the same. She looks super bloated at times though, I wonder if it's just too much botox or some kind of fat grafting.
  16. Kinda random, but do you guys think Taeng is going to get into composing? I felt like she wasn't interested in that but then she dropped Pray on us lol. I feel like she's being more adventurous with her singing nowadays (adding runs, changing it up, esp during the Rain performances and BK in general)
  17. Nah, he specifically said he was talking about hanteo (its 1990's and early 2000's period), that's why it kinda confused me
  18. Soo a big sone is saying on twitter that Taeyeon isn't the first female solo artist to break the 100k barrier, citing BoA as an example. I was under the impression that hanteo started in like 2008 but I think you guys are better informed than I am
  19. Do you guys think there's a chance she'll still go on radio shows/sketchbook? I don't really care about music shows (shitty sound system), but since she said at a fansign that she'd promote more, I was hoping for sth like dingo or sketchbook. I guess the fanaccs were wrong -either that, or something came up
  20. I could actually see her limiting her activities in the future, while still putting out music frequently -it doesn't look like she really enjoys tv shows lol. It's kinda sad to think about that, but I think there's a risk of snsd going on an indefinite hiatus after their comeback this year (reading Tiff's latest itw, it looks like she has us-based ambitions, Yoona's building her image as an actress etc.). And who knows what that 'll mean for Taeng's future
  21. I hope she gets longer promotion than usual, it would help a lot -especially if she delivers legendary vocal performances, which we all know she can do. Not even gonna hope for two songs because that's obviously not going to happen, but if she could promote for 3 weeks, that'd be cool
  22. No one gives a shit about your 'judgement', you suck at predictions. And you need to stop coopting the vocal thread's work, it's obvious you don't understand what the words you use mean. You absolutely don't need to be 'proficient' to sing these adlibs (just ask Ariana Grande), and the term proficient is only significant relatively to the ranking system of the vocal team -it has no precise intrinsic meaning in terms of vocal skills
  23. It is silly, if only for the fact that most people putting down other snsd/sm artists solos are not even Taeyeon fans (same with people saying only Yoona and her are relevant). The ones who were shitting on Tiff certainly weren't for the most part (well, I kinda was but I sorta have a reason for that), same for Seohyun this time around. Plus, you seemed to enjoy Taeyeon underperforming so yourer probably not free of bias but.
  24. So Yuta's chin looks a bit better now, but his face still looks way longer than it used to. Anyone has an idea why? (also is there a change it's going to go back to normal completely?)
  25. I think Taeyong is better looking than Jaejoong (who tends to look like a plastic fish). Also, I'm tired of people whining about how hard their favs work to improve when the results aren't there. Like oviously, if you dedicate hours to something and still don't make significant progress, then either you're really untalented, lying about how much hours you put in, or use a really shitty training method.
