The audience set on who they want or don't want from the start reminds me of Bobby , the round he did the song "I'm iLL"

It was a sick performance (pun intended) ... but the audience voted him down at the lower bottom of the rank while the rappers who didn't do well was ranked higher than they should.

 

hello~ it's my first time dropping by the thread.. nice to meet you!

i've just watched episode 9 of SMTM4, then suddenly i have an urge to post my pennies here. i'm aware my commentary would sound like a broken record, being for sure many already made their points.. but, i hope you won't mind me adding a small clutter to this place ^^;.

 

i am satisfied with how the battle between Mino vs Blacknut ended. glad they opted to go down the similar direction.. not to mention both indeed presented a solid performance, so the playing field was somewhat even. however, such a pity that Blacknut (+ Brand New mentors) didn't put noticeable effort into the song production, for he simply used his already released mixtape/track from 2013 (pardon me in case i state the year wrong >,<) under the name MC기형아 for his top 4 stage.. therefore, i couldn't give him my highest regard. he recycled almost the entire lyrics too, only the hook part sung by Jessi is new, as well as the insertion of:

"I already changed my calendar 7 times, but I don’t regret about the time I spent

I keep fighting my hardships

I keep fighting my hardships

You, who has fallen, never give up

Grab my hand, if you’re the same as me"

in the closing verse, which isn't exist in the original piece.

 

albeit permissible, when you compare it to a composition that is created from scratch, naturally the appreciation level would be different.. due to the fact that it shows an amount of dedication and a symbol of one's quality amidst all the pressure. based on that, i grant Mino + ZiPal greater points; thus their win was very, very much merited, at least according to my opinion.

 

Basick ft. Mamamoo (+ 2 other rappers?) is fabulous! identical to what everyone has repeatedly declared, he definitely redeemed himself from the previous top 6 catastrophe. Mamamoo at the last bit (since the segment where Basick along with them sang and rapped simultaneously) stole my attention though.. they're indeed powerhouses (i can replay their harmony alone without getting bored <3). had he put a period on his presentation after the monologue, it would've been excellent. still, his overall demonstration was magnificent!

i'm also a tad discontented about the inspired accompaniment.. it seriously raised a question concerning what are VJ's + San E's actual contribution for the team.

 

my heart goes out to Innovator, as he definitely deserved more than 3+ minute (on air) stage duration. nonetheless, his and Basick's friendship is heartwarming.. hopefully they get to make a joint appearance again after the whole SMTM business is finished.

 

ultimately, taking each factor into consideration, my personal conclusion is:

(more or less) Basick = Mino > Blacknut >> Innovator

 

FINAL: Basick vs Mino

i wish they bring their A game and serve a worthy rivalry to the audience.. meaning, freshly written lines on top of an authentic tunes. in this way, there'll be no regrets nor hard feelings whoever take the grand prize.

So...i am currently visiting GD's Peaceminusone exhibition at the Seoul Museum of Art...

 

Whoever questions his status in Korea in this OH forum, should come and see this piece. It's a great exhibition, terrific 3D presentations of contemporary art works from a wide range of artists. I'm quite impressed and admire the guy even more now... I love Bang & Lee's works the most, also Sophie Clements' (the energy is amazing!). The last room, a dark room which contains large pieces of glasses/mirrors with GD's visual presentation walking through and around the mirrors/floors/walls and his voice pronouncing Peaceminusone's themes, is very strong too. You'll feel surrounded by his images, his voices and some haunting background sound.

 

Also there's a flock of people here. Families with kids, boys, girls, adults, ahjummas, ahjussis, some foreigners like me...despite it's a friday, not a weekend, and the ticket is not super cheap (around usd 11 for adults, while normally the Museum entry is free of charge). Good thing they offer 50% Independence day's discount for today and this weekend

 

Oh and I left a message for GD on Pholar app :D (not sure if he will ever see it though, since there're tons of those messages on the wall :D)

I was rooting for ZZutter but Hooray!!!!!!

 

Ok, since I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED with Zzutter, I wanted to do a loose stab at a storyline and here it is;

GD and TOP are included as two noobs (when we see them in casual clothes going up the yellow corridor) into a high stakes gambling ring (most likely run by gangsters).

 

It gets wild, there’s a lot of drinking, and the gangsters seem to lose a lot (possibly to GD) and they get mad. A fight breaks out because noobs aren’t supposed to win. It looks like the lady asks him to leave at some point? (Things to notice about the gambling scene, GD is probably in a tracksuit and robe because they took his own clothes to avoid cheating? I dunno)

 

At first I thought GD was taking money from the safe but it seems like he took it (possibly from where the bill counters kept it?) and hid it there? It’s also possible that the scene where he is pooping has something to do with how he got the money. 

 

GD is questioned by one of the Gangsters (Mr. GGonome or something?) but nothing seems to come of it. No one can find the money because he hid it right under their noses. For a while GD and TOP go underground at the farmhouse where the pigs are (GD and TOP sleeping in black tracksuits on that rustic couch). But things must have quietened down because they come out again.

 

GD and TOP party hard. GD in the bar spraying money. TOP drinking (possibly in his farm house which we will get back to, hehe!) We see both of them in a tropical setting with chicks wearing really loud tropical themed clothes. But it doesn’t take long for the people they stole from to come for their revenge. (EDIT: Now that I re-watch it again, The scene with TOP drinking must have happened after they escaped. I’m using the bandaid on TOP’s nose to figure out the time line and it only shows up in scenes that I assume are post capture and escape).

 

GD&TOP are picked up and sat in the freezer for a while (still wearing the loud tropical clothes). Then they are brought out (possibly) stripped and changed into track downs and beaten and questioned. Clearly neither of them gives in because they are then sent to a professional torturer which is where the MV actually picks up.

 

BUT THEN THE TWIST!!!!

 

What we never knew was that GD and TOP are actually a pair of really bad ass crooks and kinda sick mofos. They overcome their torturer (however they did it doesn’t matter) and have fun dancing while he is tied up in the corner then they piss all over each other because thats what sick mofos in a bromance do, i guess?

 

Then this part I’m reaching but I think GD is the partyier but TOP is the real actual psycho of the two and that’s why he has a farm house and Pigs. I think it was in “Snatch†that it was mentioned that pigs are a good way to get rid of dead bodies. TOP takes the body to his farmhouse and chops it to bits after disembowelling it. The scene with him doing that with the ladies in the background is like a dark peek into the head of a psycho killer. Then he most likely feeds the relevant bits to the pigs (someone needs to confirm this cos I swear i remember this reference from a film). (EDIT: Read somewhere it was man eating pigs from Snatch. So probably TOP had them on a special feed that allowed them to be like that? Maybe that stuff he was feeding them?)(EDIT; OMG, I'M ONTO SOMETHING. WHEN I STUDIED THE FEEDING SCENE, YOU CAN SEE TRACKS OF GREEN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BUCKET! BEFORE THAT HE CHOPS UP MEAT IN THE FORM OF A CHICKEN! I REALLY THINK HE HAD THE PIGS ON A SPECIAL CARNIVOROUS FEED!!! Or that was a pig he was disembowelling just for kicks?) (I really shouldn't be so excited about this )

 

After all is done, the two do what good bad asses do and return to the scene of their crime but now in their true form (so stylish!!) and go retrieve the rest of the money and blow the rest of that sh*t up (unless they blew up the money too). Then they drive off into the dawn in their bad ass ride, only pausing at a KFC to force some poor part timers to  make them some bad ass breakfast Burgers.

i think they were kinda going for fresh faces but also known and upcoming people. guess korean fans complaining about them always using white girls in their video got to their ears.

100% agree, that's the problem i have when people keep saying TOP needs to sing more, awful idea. he should just have some rare moments of that, i would not want to listen to a full song with top singing 

That's TOP's first live performance singing If You. He's very nervous on top of lack of training.

If you've seen Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook, TOP was very nervous in there.

I'm sure, the more they do the song live, the more comfortable he becomes.

Let the concerts be his training ground so that when he does sing live on TV later in the future, he'll be A-Ok.

I like this video. Some vocals were not perfect but I love the setting . It was their first ever live performance of the song. And it's subbed.
