2014 was many things. Exhilarating, confusing, heartbreaking, frustrating, reassuring, triumphant, bitter, hopeful... But when I think about the past year in relation to Sungmin, I'm left with an overwhelming sense of thankfulness.

Enlistment always looms large for male idols, especially as they near their thirties, and even more so for SJ members. When it was revealed that he had auditioned for the police promotional unit, I was so proud of him, yet fearful of what it might mean for 7jib. The thought of Super Junior without Sungmin's quiet strength and rock solid talent never fails to prick at my heart, but the knowledge that he will serve his country with the same passion and utmost dedication that he pours into everything he does is a very satisfying salve.

It didn't seem possible at this time last year that Sungmin would be active with SJ today. Yet here we are, celebrating a new year, and another birthday, still marveling at the brilliance of 7jibsus... Still together, still hoping, still fighting, still sharing our happiness, and still walking the same sapphire blue path.

I hope he keeps fighting for himself and for those he loves. I hope he never has a reason to lose his smile again. I hope he can feel our love and admiration today, and always. I hope the new year is good to all of Super Junior--and ELF, too!

Happy Birthday, Sungmin. Happy New Year, everyone. May 2015 bring much happiness!

Thank you for the long beautiful message!

I admit that I first received the news of his wedding with a heavy heart. I felt I lost touch with him for a while and it took time for me to realize how different Sungmin has become and how happier he is after finding the love of his life. I guess now I also feel thankful for 2014 like you. Sungmin reached a big milestone of his life and he is going into the army next year with his love - his wife by his side.

I am so so so happy for Sungmin and 2015 the year of enlistment no longer worries me as much as it did before. (Although not seeing Sungmin and Suju for quite another while is still a grim future for me)

I've been browsing youtube and seen some lovely birthday videos made for Sungmin 30th birthday and I want to share the links here:

Kang Hodong: Did Sungmin propose to you?

Saeun: We never dated walking in public before. That day, he walked to me openly for the first time, at Gwangan bridge. He had wine, and asked "Do you know what wine this is? It's Sena that represents 'personal signature'". He said it's time for our 'signature', then knelt down with a ring.

Gwangan bridge in Busan? XD They travelled their for a date?
I wonder why he chose the place, is it Busan Sa Eun hometown? So curious!
  4. guys SM definitely did not pull SJ out of award shows as a punishment for Sungmin's marriage. please. let not trouble ourselves with silly hearsay. Smtown publicly congratulated on Sungmin marriage news. That is as obvious as support can get. it's not because SM had to pretend to be a supportive and nice to SJ or whatever, the stubborn SM we all know never cared about such things. If SM did not support Sungmin, they would have stayed quiet through the ordeal, not publicly tweeting their support.

It's obvious SM pulled SJ out of award shows to make sure their trendy group can win as many awards as possible, in order to media play the hell out of it. Regardless of how much influence SM have in the industry it's not like they can give EXO everything on a whim because the shows do retain some discretion in handling out their own awards (if not they can just change their name to "SM music award"). No judge with a brain will vote for the lipsync group who did not even release a full album over the respected SJ.

The only thing exo has over other groups they compete against is physical sales. But if SJ is in the picture, the game is changed. SM pulling SJ out of the shows has everything to do with exo and nothing to do with Sungmin supposed punishment.

‘Super Junior’ Sungmin Ties the Knot and Sings the Celebratory Song for the Bride

‘Super Junior’ Sungmin has just become the first married man among the current male boy-band members.

    ...

At last, the bride and groom held their hands together and played a scene from a musical <Three Musketeers>, which allowed the two to tie the knot.
Meanwhile, Sungmin and Kim Sa-eun first met through a musical <Three Musketeers> last year. The two dated for a year and finally got married, breaking idol singer’s taboo. The two left to Maldives for honeymoon and the newlyweds set up their home in Songpa where Kim Sa-eun was raised.

YES. Leave it to Super Junior to start a new trend for male idols.  :datass:

    :hurr:  :hurr:

  THIS. I am a little greedy alright the wedding just happened but I am already waiting for the next one   Teukie ah?

  6. So today is the day.  :rlytearpls:

Will there be pictures? Videos? Will the boys talk about the wedding on SNS? I understand if they don't wish to invade too much on the wedding privacy or if only to avoid a sensitive issue for some K-ELFs, but this is a wonderful moment in Minnie life and a milestone for Super Junior, pls I hope they share their joy with ELFs.

May happiness stay with Sungmin always  :rlytearpls:

  7.

The gap between 7jib+repack and the 2nd highest selling album gets even bigger now.

9 years into their career and SJ still outsell everybody for the year. I'm proud of SJ and proud of us.  :ahmagah: :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:

Someone in the GDA thread said to "mark my words", SJ would not sell even 20k on the November Gaon Chart....Awkward for them

I guess many people expected to underestimate SJ sales this comeback because SM doesn't care,  no media play and lack of promotions, not to mention squeezing SJ-M, Zhoumi, and Kyuhyun releases all into one year to get us broke and that hurt SJ sales as well as others.

Btw our Kyu is the best seller of the month on Gaon.  :lub:

  8. The label really started to stick after he admitted to wearing black dress socks during workouts.

    iPhone_0.jpg

His normal style is pretty much typical guy--jeans, t-shirt, Converse, maybe a jacket and hat. He's not interested in fashion and usually just wears what's comfy or the stylist tells him to. It's never as bad as terrorism, imo, but I can't deny that when he clunks... Oh, he clunks.

Minnie is still perfect though

2 more days to go ~~

  9. It truly disturbs me that people are siding with SM over this matter, or even be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Did these people not see Luhan at his last concert in Beijing? It was utterly clear that he was utterly unwell. Did these people not realize that Luhan is far from the first idol to leave SM? All you have to do is count the sheer amount of lawsuits filed against SM in the past few years and you realize SM is no good. That's just fact. Logical conclusions.

It couldn't be stated better. Especially looking at Exo: the overwhelming amount of fame they got once they debuted, the doors that opened for them and the opportunities they had - an idol would only give that up if the cost was too high. Some people are willing to endure, but others (thankfully) realize they deserve to be treated better. Luhan said they're treated like robots in a factory. No one deserves that. I'm so proud of him for realizing that.

Idols are overworked and undercompensated, it amazes me that anyone can endure the lifestyle. Honestly, from lack of sleep alone I can pretty much guarantee no idol is going to have the luxury of dying of old age. They're wearing out their bodies so fast. It's scary. As sad as I am to see him go, I'm glad Luhan could acknowledge when enough was enough and get himself out of the situation. I can only hope others will follow, or the entertainment industry in Korea will get a large makeover in light of all these lawsuits and scandals.

Well just because some people can point out Luhan is not as angelic as he is pretending to be with his media play tactics does not necessarily mean they are siding with SM. People can be unbiased and support neither side.

SM is not angelic either, there must be reasons their artists one by one tried to sue the damn company.

But let's be realistic here, SM is the type of company who has the ability to help raise their artists' popularity to such height that a solo career can probably be sustained. And girls that significantly raises the odds of them being sued by their own artists.
