  1. Nooooo, that description actually suits that leaked song, and is bad, I have hopes that it wasn't the title track but if is, oh no, the only thing sm hasn't ruined for exo their music,  I can't even imagine a choreography for this at how basic it is and that annoying voice from beginning to end is indeed torture like they describe it

  2. You asked who is in charge, well is LSM lol he still think he is some kind of genius with interesting ideas and that things just go his way because it did in the past, he is still with this culture technology concept and they also called this smp? Sm, a concept they use with most of their idols but using that for a USA debut,  are they for real?

This project has many but many factors that won't allow it to succed, they have major hate since they announced, exols are so mad about this after sm miss managed exo the last few years, they're full of resentment towards sm and I'm sure they were counting with them for this project and I think not even half is supporting this.

Now why they need to create a dumb word , did lsm thought this word could become a trend lmao, this idea is most likely his who else could be this corny, same with the self indulging Super M name I mean SM is the acronym, this scream ego project like lsm though he could do so much, throw all resources and his genius ideas and this would be a hit since the company is still handle under his ways even when he is not directly involved I remember I read he wrote manuals and everything lol,  but is clear his ways are obsolete and they dont care about actual music trends or even fandom behaviour, their lack of views is taking them down.

  3. I think I'm dead

Oh yeah, I didn't think about their debut year.

I mean, I can understand the enlisted years not counting, it makes sense to me. It's just that it makes everything confusing because that would mean the re-signing times would be different. :derp:

First of all, hell no to that lawsuit. We don't need anymore of that :donthinkso:  Also sis, there's more to EXO than just group activities. They're in they're 7th year starting to do more and more induvial things. A lack of group schedules isn't what would make them leave. There's plenty they can do in the next 3 years as individuals/units.

I still wondering about the enlistment time I doubt sm would waste 18 months of their contract specially after they find a way to cheat and add 3 more years, but law is stricter now but I guess we know in 2022, I also wonder if they really want to leave they could actually do it, I mean the law is still 7 years so this +3 is ridiculous I'm sure the law would be on their side so I expect sm will threat exo well and actually heard them, I still prefer they stay there even if sm is awful, but because they are bad, they will make things difficult for them if they leave, I'm still so sad knowing how sm gave them unfair contracts specially after a law was create because of their abusive behaviour

  4. I don't understand this contract stuff. Does anyone know how it worked for SuJu? :derp:

I always wonder about suju they debuted really close to tvxq so there's a chance they have a more abusive contract since they signed before law changed in 2009, I heard that for them they didn't count the enlisted years in the contract, but I don't think we can't assume they have similar contracts I thought exo will renew at 7 like shinee and snsd but clearly they don't have the same contrct or maybe because the Chinese members lawsuit they were exposed and don't longer care about pretending they are following the 7 year law
  5. So SM really played Korean law with EXO contract, I didn't want to believe because by law (a law created for their abusive behaviour) it should be 7 years and most idols actually renew at 7, so sm is being dirty with the +3 years, surreal they are the cause the law exist in first place and they already find a way to cheat it, I'm so mad, I hoped exo will have better conditions and more autonomy after their renewal, but sm still can do whatever they want for 3 more years, I wonder if the news about snsd and shinee renewal at 7 years back in 2014 and 2015 was just media play and they have this same contract, or they just find this dirty trick just in time for EXO, I bet NCT has the same contract as EXO, really disturbing

  6. Anyone knows if someone is sharing the fanclub pictures? I find so weird no one is sharing, there was not problem sharing then japanase fan club exclusive pics which is also forbidden, but this time no one wants to share and is mostly pics sm share in exo Twitter account like the birthday celebrations for free, I doubt this fanclub is more strict than the Japanese one since they are super strict, but since no one is sharing people is less willing to share is really upsetting seeing people twitting -ace only go watch 25 cbx pics, when majority of people can't actually see it, I thought the fan club was more to buy concert tickets, so I didn't imagine they would make this distinction between fans and they fans wouldn't share anything since they have not problem with sharing the Japanese ones

  7.

Yes, I've seen people attribute many choreography to them in the past few days because they've taught them or preformed them

For my own curiosity, I looked it up and from the best I can find this is who did what for the promoted tracks

MAMA - Lyle Beniga - Shim Jae Won (Beat Burger)

History - Sh*t kingz - Gregory (Sang Hoon) Hwang (Beat Burger)

    Angel - Beat Burger

    Machine - Beat Burger

    Wolf - Tony Testa

    Growl - Nate Bass

    Overdose - Tony Testa

    Call Me Baby - Nappytaps

    Exodus - ???

Love Me Right - Sh*t kingz

    Monster - Nappytaps

Lucky One - Beat Burger - Hyuno, Kasper

    Dancing King - Mihawk

    Lotto - Sh*t kingz

Ko Ko Bop - Mihawk - Kapser

    The Eve - Hyuno

Power -  Kinjaz group - Vinh Nguyen & Bam Martin

    Tempo - Rei Hata

    Oh La La - Kasper

Love Shot - Mihawk - Kasper

You may correct if I am mistaken. Couldn't' find Exodus. To add Shim Jae Won/Beat Burger do most of the tour stuff like Don't Go and El Dorado and Hyuno did Boomerang and Cloud 9

Thank you for this, sometimes is hard to find the choreographers, I don't think Mihawk did dancing king in the show we saw how they receive a video with foreign dancers showing them the choreo and he just learn it and then teach them, same with Kasper and CMB, I think most foreign choreographers do this, just send them videos.

  8. Kasper choreographed Call Me Baby and Kokobop. CMB has one of the best choreographies of all time. He also did White Noise which is also ridiculously popular and an amazing piece of choreography. I was so disappointed in the last tour precisely because I felt like White Noise's choreo was so much better than most of the others. You're literally not making sense. He matches the choreography with the tone of the song. He also did What U Need from Lay which is also top tier choreo.

You can not like KKB but calling them trash is pointless. They're some of the top choreographers in the game and while I do wish they were a little more abstract with the dance, I feel like dances like Love Shot and Tempo are super attention grabbing. Power is the weak one.

You seem to like the more lyrical dances. Songs like Overdose and Monster are very lyrical and show it. However push too far to the extreme and you get something like Wolf. Okay go super far the other direction and you get something like Lucky One, super technical, nothing really catchy or easy to do, in fact Lucky One is one of their hardest dances.

Except Lucky One is great. It's really smooth and really fun. So what are other examples of high technique dances? Lotto is also super high technique, one of their best choreos ever. The first lipstick chateau where they go in the lean formation is insane, and the ground dance break is iconic too.

Songs like Tempo, Love Shot, and KKB are in the middle between high technical and lyrical (actually KKB is more lyrical which is what you like)

Love Me Right, CMB, and Growl also fall here.

SO you don't like Kasper but you love Call Me Baby. You don't like high technique dances but Lucky One, Lotto, and White Noise are some of the best. You really like dances with a mix of lyrical and technique, like Monster, but don't like Love Shot.

I know this from a few days ago, I'm surprise nobody correct you that Kasper didn't do Call me baby that was a mistake I think spread by koreabo since kasper and mihawk help EXO practicing the choreography even if is not  theirs like we saw for dancing king in that tv show, the ones who did Call me baby is Nappytabs

    https://onehallyu.com/topic/157055-exo-call-me-baby-choreographed-by-nappytabs/

and here Kasper said how he just teach them but the choreo is not his https://www.soompi.com/article/867161wpp/watch-exos-dance-instructor-kasper-wows-with-good-looks-and-call-me-baby-performance-on-star-king

  9. Does love shot has like a reggae kinda feel or like a tropical feel It gave me this feeling? and mix with the marching band in some parts is really interesting, I also love chen "it's the love shot" at the end is more like a whine, he never did something like that in a song but really fit the song.

  10. I loved love shot is like people have said easy to listen and catchy but still interesting, though for me tempo is still the best, but I'm really happy with this song and the mv is what we have been waiting for, I didn't have high hopes before the teasers because the repackages since LMR always have been how to say it, let's said most people weren't really happy, but this time the song, the mv everything is pretty amazing, I'm genuinely surprise sm gave us such quality mv with all this sets and scenarios, THREE differents dance shots, I love the car scenes finally an outdoor scene, it definitely gives a different feeling than the box mvs even though I also appreciate those MVs, though is kinda sad they didn't use all this to shoot for the album booklet maybe because of time the pics would have been beautiful, also please SM release a performance version, I feel like I shouldn't said this because I always ask the same and they never release a dance version I prefer them over dance practices.

    about choreo...

I won't complain about formation but I just want to say that 1 million (or something?) studio ain't shit, most of their choreos for EXO is total mess - just fast unnesessary hand moves all over the place - and ofc not eveyone can keep up with that. Some performances are even ruined for me - Forever, for example, damn mess. Kokobop is shit too. They probably just not good at choreographing group dances???
"yup we made this messy af choreo only Kai can follow and look good doing it, so we put the worse ones at the back", bitch what? It's your job to create a fitting choreo that will make performance good, memorable and replayable.

Love Shot is better than most, I might agree, but overall - meh.... I always look up to Twice's choreos - maybe they are not hard hitting or something, but super neat, formation are nice, there is form and continuation to everything, they are memorable and all 9(!) girls can be seen.
So, like, if you are not skilled enough for this job, step out? As GROUP dance Love Shot is really nothing special or good.

no srsly, show me at least one interesting formation in Love Shot.. lines, arrow and circle? that's it? Kokobop? all about arrow formation. Interesting transitions between formations?

I don't know about love shot I won't judge before seeing the full dance, but I agree about forever and kokobop, I remember I was annoyed when I saw the choreographer dancing to forever and it looked like it was created for him and not exo in mind like only super agile dancers could execute the steps as it was suppose to be, because it was super quick and all members have to dance at the same time so some look off, it looked more like a dance break for a soloist than a group choreo, and similar for kokobop though is better but I never completely like it, like I love most of their choreos,  I wonder who did electric kiss, that is an amazing choreo with interesting formations and strong energetic steps but not too over the top, from what we have seem love shot looks pretty good I like all what I see, about hiding members I know is difficult to work with even numbers so I guess is hard but they should be more careful I don't know if they did the eve or power but also baekhyun was hide in the back sometimes,  Exo best choreo to me is monster I don't know who did it but is the best. I remember people complained about Tony testa as well but I always like his choreographies, true they use many strong moves that could be too much or even dangerous but were always so creative and unique.

  11. So anyone know what is a 808 bass? lol, I search for it and it seems like an electronic bass sound mostly use in hiphop or trap music, I wonder why sm decide to include this information for the song, I don't think I heard that bass in the teaser, but I'm not a musician so I wonder if indeed that is loveshot or is the other song trauma, this type of bass sounds heavy maybe use in beat drops but also kinda common so I wonder how they will use it in the song or if it would have an important part in the song, this is the 808 bass

  12. TBH SM treats Repacks even worse than Main comebacks idk why we expected anything better or more high budgeted.

Havent we always got Polarising repack titles like Lotto and Power? But atleast the packaging and teasers of TPOM WERE so nice.

    THIS IS JUST... UGLY.

Now that I think about it I have such high expectations for power because of the teasers and packaging than when that mv came out I couldn't believe it, I was so dissapointed, this time since expectations have reach a minimum level, maybe the MV would be nice, even if is isn't as nice lol.

  13. I feel like crying.... SM IF YOU HAVE GIVEN UP ON EXO JUST SAY IT YOU HAGS

I'm crying and laughing, I think when they shoot the photos for DMMUT they just change clothes for this repackage, I really think this is what they did, I mean they have the same hair and just took pics in the white background, nct literally got a pic per member in the repackage I bet it would be the same, like you can see the white background and almost all pcs, did sm forgot people buy physical albums because of packaging otherwise all people buy digital, jyp himself said packaging was important since albums were like souvenirs

  14. LISTEN. THE TEASERS scream LOW BUDGET AFAJKAAKAK WE LIVE LIKE THIS

I just saw it, just after I wrote my essay on how sm is doing the least investment on everything, the irony, I can't said I'm surprise, but this is just beyond low effort, it seems they spend all the money on making logos and making merch

A white background twitch.gif and the basic font rlytearpls.png rlytearpls.png , and I complained about power let's hope this time the budget when to the mv, but I know I will be let down rlytearpls.png , sm is rushing everything for everyone I saw ntc fans complaining as well about their album packaging.

edit: After seeing some reactions on twitter I wonder about the sales, on top that is super soon and close to their main comeback the packaging is extra basic, fans being upset at sm, I don't know, sm just sucks, what even bother if they are going to be half hassed, most fans will happily buy everything but I don't expect amazing numbers.

Chris Lee (Music Industry & Culture) — Since joining SM Entertainment’s A&R department in 2005, Chris Lee has played a visionary role in the evolution of Asia’s leading entertainment agency. He made a name for himself by developing SM’s peerless production system, which involves a global network of more than 900 hit songwriters (from legends like Teddy Riley to pop sensations like Bruno Mars). Lee’s efforts introduced the songcamp model to K-pop, setting a new precedent for the Asian music industry as a whole. Lee takes a similarly hands-on approach to nearly every facet of SM’s prodigious output, and fostering top global acts like EXO, Super Junior, Red Velvet, and NCT. As a member of SM Entertainment Group’s board of directors, Lee is actively involved in formulating fresh corporate development strategies and directions.

He is going to give some talk in March 2019

Oof so he is the one responsible for the shitty promo strategy?? hmm

Apparently SM entertainment have relaunched and are hiring for their USA office

    https://jobkoreausa.com/work/employ_detail.html?no=20447

Speaking of which, I found something interesting for you all to read!

SM’s global strategy of outsourcing has nonetheless evolved through trial and error, with a stiff learning curve that was elevated by the Korean ethos of speeding up the process by skipping some of the essential learning stages. By hook or by crook, SM was eventually able to expand their international business network, thanks in large part to the Swedish music producer Pelle Lidell, who runs a music camp for the European and North American popular music industry. SM first connected with Lidell at the global music conference MIDEM, through an Australian music entrepreneur named Hayden Bell, who wrote “I Spy†for SM’s leading singer BoA.

According to Chris Lee, Lidell helped SM establish the music camp Fantasia (Fantastic Asia), which spawned several songs for SM: Fantasia Camp continued for four days and three nights without rest. Lidell invited SM representatives and 21 composers and musicians to create 21 different songs exclusively for SM. As the producer, Lidell covered all the costs. Each team included one track writer [for percussion, instrumental, and recording], one top-line writer [for melody], and one lyricist. On the first night, each of the seven teams wrote one song, and then on the next night they switched around the teams and did it all over again. So by the end of the third night, SM had 21 new songs. It was simply amazing to witness the entire process of producing one song per night, which had been unimaginable in Korea.

SM is now boastful of their strategic partnership with Lidell, who has allowed them to complete their outsourcing network. However, simply globalizing or outsourcing music composition does not always guarantee success on the global scale, as JYP and YG have learned all too well. Japanese J-pop managers have thus far avoided outsourcing composition to global sources, since their domestic music market is huge enough to support an internal music production system. Therefore, the internal processes of finishing, mastering, and assembling a song are just as important as the outsourcing. Chris Lee carefully explained how Lee Soo-man controls the entire process of finishing:

For example, take the song “Twinkle,†the first song by TaeTiSeo (TTS), which came out in early 2012. . . . In that song, Lee Soo-man told me to change the lyric “easily visible†to “instantly visible.†He definitely wants to be involved in every little detail, including the lyrics, the instruments, the title, the melody, everything. He literally produces the whole song. His process is not the norm in our business, because he’s not happy to just outsource the music to some composers and then record the songs with the artists. For him, producing involves a meticulous step-by-step process of refining, changing, and finishing the song. Sometimes the end result is completely different from the original music score.

The secret of SM’s success, therefore, derives from this internal process of modifying the original creative work to make it more viral to the actual listeners, whoever and wherever they may be. This is not the same as merely copying universal trends in global popular music. Instead, SM acquires samples of universal musical content from Europe and the United States and then modifies them into a unique SM composition that is not yet globally universal, but has the potential to become the next global norm.

However, the internal modification process (or localization) requires a set of creative skills (i.e., tacit knowledge) that no one else at SM seems to have mastered yet, except for Lee Soo-man. Chris Lee considers this to be a serious problem:

For example, Yu Yeong-jin, Lee Soo-man’s composer, had to train for three years before he could learn how to satisfy Lee’s eyes and ears. The mass manufacturing of creativity presents a big problem. At SM, there’s only one person who can manage and coordinate music videos, costumes, television broadcasting, and everything else. Therefore, we need a second Lee Soo-man. Right now, we’re systematizing this process. Lee is actually having us write a manual for producing music. So now every department at SM has a manual that includes Lee’s production knowhow, CT (cultural technology), and creativity. The manuals let us bypass Lee in our tasks, so we’re no longer totally reliant on him. But he still often intervenes in the process. Hopefully, these teams represent the foundation of the mass manufacturing [of creativity]. We need geniuses, but we also need apprentices. Lee Soo-man is developing the apprentice system here.

From Manufacturing Creativity: Production, Performance, and Dissemination of K-pop by Gil-Sung Park

    Interesting..

thanks for sharing this, it really show us how sm works and their mentality

At SM, there’s only one person who can manage and coordinate music videos, costumes, television broadcasting, and everything else. Therefore, we need a second Lee Soo-man

are they serious? they still have this man to decide everything? yes he is the one who make the company sucessful, but  the world has changed, they need to find new people that try different things and know how thing work this days, for example is obvious at this point that LSM have an obsession to copy the morning musume akb48 concept of a masive groups in which they can change members easily whatever they want, he is trying this since suju but failed with the rotation thing, try again with another big group with EXO and the two groups concept also failed, and now it seems they really want it to happen with NCT at whatever cost and honestly is not working and it won't work,  LSM see idols like tools he can change whatever he wants that's why unlike other companies they don't encourage but probably discourage their idols to produce their own music and I bet that is to not pay them royalties and allow them more decision and freedom,  this rotation concept work in japan with girl groups because fandoms for gg there are different, meanwhile male idols groups is about interaction between the members themselves and the fans, the bond that exist with all of them, changing members will never work, also this manufacturing creativity the concept itself is not bad but that name is so bad, you can't manufacture creativitiy another prove of sm rotten mentality, the marz producer that was in charge of one of this camps said he was going to quick I can imagine how bad sm was for him to quick and badmouthed them.

To me it seems SM want to get maximum profit with the least investment, and recently they handle everything with this mentality but fail to see good opportunities for example they create that vryl app instead of using twitter to get more profits, so what happen? they failed and eventually have to create twitter accounts because all groups have one, so they were late in the trend and showcase how little they know about how fandoms works this days and this is more obvious when we see how they promote their groups I guess it that Chris lee guy fault, is surreal they actually think they are doing amazing, when a big group of fans are trying to boycott them and are obviously upset with how they handle the group promos, and is the same for most of their groups fandoms, I mean you don't need to be a genius to know this many releases at the same time is not a good idea and is like this with many things, sm keep wasting opportunities to see if they can gain more profit but this could fail in the end.

  16. I am a little confused... Because i read the flight detail rumors and apparently exo will cb from taiwan to seoul soon... Then what is the hawaii trip for?

probably a photobook I think chanyeol said something about a photobook and baekhyun said the reality was already done in 3 days, get ready for oksusu 10 minutes episodes lol, and if they release the photobook I wish they included a dvd but since sm is greedy we will get the dvd in 2020 like the happiness one that came two years after they shoot it, sm is surreal I can't believe they even treat that as a movie and show it at their theater in 2017 after it was shoot in 2015 and even show some clips in the love concert

  17. I think SM will start teasing the reoack by mid December and it wikk get released around the 3rd week?

Kinda odd. Because...like. Thats christmas and holiday time with christmas and holiday songs topping the charts. .. So yeah.. Kinda poor planning to release a song possibly about guns lol .

I think there is definitely going to be choreo...and the mv was filmed very quickly though.. 3 days!?

But since its shot in a school.. It cant be cgi like power so..dw!

you mean if we go by the wednesday "rule" the 21 of december? then monday is christmas eve (I hope is not too much like lotto then lol), I still hope is at least the 14th, how many music shows we will get? we were unlucky for DMUMT with 3 cancellations and that time of the year isnt best neither to promote, ideally would be better in january but sm is rushing other groups not only EXO, I don't understand why they do this. I don't mind at this point lol more Exo to come specially after that promotion, I'm happy but for sales point of view that is not really smart

  18. According to their clues, the comeback concept most likely would be something similar to lotto, is definitely something relate to shooting, and they been bad boy, I just hope the mv director don't go too overboard with it like lotto mv, they looked super hot but that cockfight was too much, and they better included dance shoots, I can't forgive power director or whoever idea was to leave out the dance when is so good and gave the song more life.

Suho confirmed is this year so I wonder about the date sm literally don't care if the releases of their groups are just a week apart, sm other groups comeback is 23 nov, and 30 nov ( both on wednesday, I wonder if have something to do with mnet boyycoot, is just an odd date and they did the same to EXO), so the date could be any day in december lol probably a wednesday so 7,14 or 21 most likely the 14.

  19. IKR!!! Imagine if they win a daesang for Universe (I know we are getting delulu but anything is possible after last year) hurrplz.png

well a daesang would be really difficult but something like the netizen popularity award would be really cool, I'm more interested in the performance but they seem really busy preparing the repackage and soon the reality so it would be hard but even if is a basic performance, I was just checking for the date since I have not idea and I find is the show 10th anniversary and they are promoting a strong artist line up and talks about their history, I also read that there's a new award based on only proffesional judges not counting votes "best record of the year", the date is 1th december, maybe is too soon?

  20. I don't know why I have the feeling they will go to MMA even way before their nomination, of course I want them to appear last minute to just perform like giphy.gif,  I don't know why I have this feeling, last year I have the feeling they win a daesang there even when people said they wouldn't, I know they thing about the manager coffe but maybe, I hope they go I like their performances there

  21. Sm master in promotions and scheduling, the best time of the year to promote in december when shows have gayos or award shows or specials shows for christmas unimpressed.png, a whole year with 12 months and they have to push everything at the same time,

so will this better than lotto or power? will they do a ballad to keep the december spirit? will Exo-l wallets be ready for such soon comeback?, why they need to rush this with a month of difference, they hype was on DMMUT so repack always have less attention but this soon is just omgwtf.png, good thing my expectations are the lowest they can be, bless EXO members they are doing the best they can with useless SM.

  22. Anybody know if inkigayo is airing this weekend? like I know is cancelled but I don't know if is this or next week or just all, for real we are so unlucky we get the bad promo for SM but sundely music shows cancelled or postponed so we get even less of the crumbs we were expecting, I heard we only got Music bank  this week but I I'm not sure and are they trolling us as well? they still haven't change the name at this point I don't think they will.

I don't even want to talk about SM useless ass aside that they just hit 6 millions, lol I mean they used to have 7 now 6'999 but still, they have lost like 100k since last sunday, I don't know if EXO-L naturally start unfollowing since sunday like I did in october, and of course yesterday the biggest drop with 30k

    https://socialblade.com/twitter/user/smtownglobal

  23. I think shinee resigned in 2015 and then in 2018, so 7 years + 3 years + whatever they signed

But some people say EXO contract is 10 years, other says is 7 domestic and 10 internationally, idk what that means tbh.

In my opinion it's 7 years, just like everyone else. But that means they should be renegociating right now or already made a decision...

right! 7 year is mandatory by law, I don't know if is because the law suits people spread the 10 years internationally but that doesn't make any sense, like then shinee also have many international activities, I still wondering what happen with snsd, so far all their boy groups have renew so maybe they offered them better, next year will know if Exo renew or not. I'm a bit nervous about this but they most likely renew Sm better treat them like kings
