While I understand there are truth in Sprite's post, I don't think it is neccessary to avoid posting things regarding ships on this thread.

Like what you said, since it's Eunji related, shouldn't fans who come into this thread expect all things that includes Eunji and even her ships? 

 

I understand that some people might be annoyed or turned off by it, that's why most of the time we post anything ship-related, we always include a spoiler and alert others what it is beforehand.

 

Different countries, different culture, I fully understand that. The way I see it, what differs from us international fans to Korean ones is that we are a bit more openminded to dating and ships, most likely due to what we've grown up to (western media and scandals). Not to mention in Korea, most fans are likely to be the opposite gender of what the groups are (Girl groups with ahjusshi fans, Boy groups with teen girl fans), which is most likely why they are more protective than we are.

 

When Hara and Junhyung dated, I remember reading about the news of Korean school girls not going to school because of it. Many blamed them for releasing such news and the fact they were in a relationship angered them. 

As to why I'm mentioning this; while I'm know for sure not all Korean fans are like that, some of them are heavily against any shipping and romance, hence the reason they would think international fans who do, is "loud" and are against us.

 

I think there are many qualities of the Korean fans we can learn from and which I personally admire as well,

But if we are avoiding any talks regarding ships, are we not slowly submitting ourselves just to match their mindset and expectations?

 

I honestly doubt much of the people in Korea are even aware of ships like "Suji, or Chanji" and is effecting Apink much. (Maybe fan extremists that forbid their idols from dating) But I strongly feel that we shouldn't need to hide our shipping.

If it's fun for us to share it, then we should. After all, isn't this our freedom of speech?

You're right in that shipping doesn't really affect the idols if we only talk about it and doesn't like...harass them about it or whatever. But some people just gets upset about it and we should be considerate, I think we can talk about shipping here as long we put it in spoilers.(That's the whole point of the spoiler tag, isn't it? To give you a choice whether to read it or not)

A Pink gift their backup dancers with clothes

It has been revealed that girl group A Pink has gifted their backup dancers with clothes!

 

On January 23, a member of A Pink's DQ dance team, Sunmi, wrote on her Twitter, "Our A Pink babies said that DQ worked hard and bought us training suits. We were grumbling that we didn't have enough money to buy pants keke. Thank you, we will work even harder. #APink #DQ #APinkaresantababies #myheatingpadisalsopinkpink." 

 

Along with the tweet, Sunmi uploaded a picture of the adidas clothes she received against the backdrop of her pink heating pad. 

 

 

 

On the same day, another DQ member Choi Seung Ah wrote on her Twitter, "A Pink, without thinking about the fact that they are the main highlight of their concert, bought us training clothes as presents... <3. I am thankful. They must be having a difficult time too but they are angels who worry over us as soon as they see us TT. #Apink1stCONCERT #PinkParadise, let's have strength <3." 

 

Along with her tweet, Choi Seung Ah revealed a picture containing shopping bags with DQ's new training clothes. 

 

 

Finally, a third DQ member Ko Kyung Jun wrote on his Instagram, "These girls have great sense / awareness, I'll wear these well. They gifted me with my favorite kind of clothes."

I can understand wanting to know more and feel closer to the idol. The biggest difference I see is Intl' fans thirst (as you named it) makes them speculate and talk freely about certain matters in their quest for knowledge. Whereas for Korean fans the primary mandate is protecting, the quest for knowledge is not to discuss freely but to better shield. Said before Koreans are "truth hoarders" ; info is collected and kept to protect, shield and defend, never talked openly unless there is a protected environment.

Your first question is not a topic we would ever discuss on a thread where everyone can read the contents without even having to join the site. That said, the speculation of Intl' fans is an eternal source of amusement (and frustration). You have the weirdest notions and theories, and it's hilarious when everyone sounds so convinced AB are dating but we know it's AC, very surreal. 

 

Don't know the entirety of this theory though I imagine it involves romantically pairing him with Eunji. I will say this (and what I say is for Korea), people in secret relationships seldom post images of themselves with the person they are dating in SNS, not even with friends to use as "shield". One thing to recognize about Korea is we act like we don't know but we do know, feigned ignorance. We see much but say little, and celebrities know this, so to avoid rumblings they are extremely careful with their actions.    So if a 'couple' is ever "obvious' enough to gain the attention only of Intl' fans, you can be sure they aren't actually dating. Because couples only make it ridiculously obvious when they want fans to know and keep it as an open secret, but these instances are rare and the obviousness undeniable. If there is ever a couple that is obvious to you because you followed this or that crumb, chances are high there's nothing because a real couple doesn't leave crumbs. The deletion of images on SNS is also not a good indicator there's something to hide, many times posts are deleted because the person thinks better of it and realizes there could be backlash. Doesn't mean the content itself was worthy of the backlash or remotely noteworthy. 

 
One aspect to understand is thanks to the internet and SNS, Korean idols (Korean fans as well) know how 'loud' international fans can be. Many times Intl' fans start speculating a lot about a certain couple to the point this reaches Korean fans and 99.99% of the time the reaction is What the hell are they talking about? Everyone knows X is dating Y not Z. But Koreans then start wondering why Z was even involved in the speculation and start digging, and there lies the problem. Korean idols (and fans) don't fear Intl' fans finding out their secret relationship and making it known by discussing the relationship freely (as Intl' fans don't have the same mentality of protecting as Korean fans do) because chances of that are basically non-existent. What they fear is Intl' fans setting off the Koreans on a hunt because Koreans will find the truth and depending on what the celebrity is to them they'll either do what they can to keep it under wraps or use it against them.   
 
I don't take offence to the questions; there are no problems as long as Intl' fans understand we don't ship and our imperative is always to support and protect.   
 
Frankly, that's what Kpop (idol groups) is all about, the relationship between singer/group and the fans. A bond is created and fans do whatever they can to support and protect their idols for any negativity while stars reward fans by trying their best to meet their expectations. This is why actions fans perceive as 'betrayals' have such a deep impact in the fandom and why many times this is followed by scandals when hidden info is revealed. Fans hide much out of love and devotion, if they feel betrayed the hurt quickly turns to anger. A hurt fan is a thousand times more damaging than an anti. 
 
 In Apink's case, Pandas and Apink are like a family.They came from a small company, they didn't have a built-in  company fandom ready to support them (like SM, YG, JYP groups do), they weren't heralded or expected to dominate like their company seniors had once done  (like SNSD). But many knew of them since pre-debut, saw them grow as trainees and be selected for Apink. The hardships they went thru are well known but the girls always tried their best. This is why Pandas are protective and caring towards Apink, it's not a case XYZ is hot or some other superficial reason; Pandas see the girls like their older/younger sister, another child, a friend. Also the reason why behavior tends to be very controlled, just like you wouldn't want to bring shame upon family, you wouldn't want backlash towards Apink for your shameful actions.
 
I think you've read my posts elsewhere so you already know about Korean fans and info, especially regarding Intl' fans. Indeed Intl' fans and Koreans are extremely different. 
 
Eunji and Chorong are the two shortest members, everyone but Chorong should look taller. 

Wow, we sort of know where you're coming from. Local fans should be protective and supportive of their local idols, but for international fans it's not like we're purposely seeking to cause them trouble...just that we're so far away and we have so little information about them, we're always thirsty for the littlest material and news regarding them, especially when it comes to their love life. (So tends to blow things out of proportion whenever we do get our hands on something) International fans want to be closer to them too

 

I won't pretend I understand the Korean mindset yet, since I grew up following most of Western culture despite being Asian ^^; And I haven't been a K-pop fan for long. Your post was very enlightening! Thank you.

I have to agree that no even if its eunji and shes very much loved dating is still not something that will be liked or supported. Ive read comments scolding acube for even putting her and other members in "revealing" clothing (short skirts, shorts & dresses) so imagine if they decide to date? I know we all have different ships (personally i dont like or agree with shipping) but kfans generally dont do that, they make joke about it like eunji and inguk but thats it. There are certain groups being shipped with apink that come with lots of backlash from both intl and kfans and we know what those are and its bc like I said dating is not an option for these girls and tbh when ifans make a big deal out of speculations ans its caught on by other fandoms or kfans it starts rumors and that is the LAST thing apink and our Eunji needs.

Eh, shipping is uncommon here too. I think it's weird throughout Asia but I still enjoy it anyways.  I just don't talk about it with my real life friends...only expressed it online.  Kfans need to loosen up and let their girls grow up a little. How suffocating it must be...their skirts and shorts aren't even that short!
