  1. ermmmm most companies require a doctor's note for someone to take time off (well, as sick leave). While it's cruel, it doesn't come as a shock at all that SM would wait for doctors to tell them they needed to let Luhan have a break. In fact, where I was work, if people have a job that needs to be done, they come in regardless of being ill. I work crazy hours at multiple jobs and none of them could give a rat's ass if I'm feeling well, so long as I show up and do my job. I'm not really surprised that SM would force him to go, given that people paid to see him (and some perhaps paid solely to see him).
  2. Oh yeah Kris absolutely did this, totally agreed! I was more hurt with him because he'd already tried to leave once, failed, and then spent his time planning his escape again...and then jumped straight into acting. I mean, really, he'd been planning to go for a looooong while. But yeah, I don't believe it's wholly one side's fault (edit: I still support Kris btw, he's one of my faves)
  3. This is pretty much how I feel. It's a bit hard to explain that you are happy a member is going off to do what they want, but at the same time you're disappointed in them for it? I don't know, it sounds conflicting to me, and it is, but there you go. But, as people have said, this isn't confirmed...!
  4. I agree that SM probably lacks the knowledge to really make it in China without some failings, but I also think part of the reason they didn't accept many role offers is because they wanted to keep the Chinese members in their grasps - as in, if they all went off and starred in movies, commercials and variety shows as single units, there would be the fear that these members would see how popular they were getting in China and disappear. After all, SM can see plain as day how well Hangeng is doing now and how strong Chinese fanbases can be. The rumours I had heard said that Luhan was already very popular in China as it was (well, I assume amongst the fandom) and there were some ~grumblings~ going on within M. Thus, another reason they rejected offers was to curb the popularity differences until exo was more established in China and avoid any internal issues. Of course, this actually just looks like SM having no idea how to manage their Chinese idols, particularly when problems crop up.
  5. I'm not angry because of anything exo has said (bc as you say, they haven't said anything bad), nor what I might think they're feeling (bc I don't know). I do wonder if Tao hasn't said anything because of the hate he got last time, but I can't really speculate on that. I'm not exactly angry about it anyway, moreso...a little disappointed? I'm saddened that M likely won't go on, or won't be the same, and also saddened to know that neither Kris nor Luhan could bear staying with Exo. No one, or at least I hope no one, would want their idol to suffer badly. It's just that when they suddenly go straight into acting it comes across as them perhaps being more healthy than originally let on (though health issues are often exaggerated by fans) or that health wasn't the biggest reason for leaving. Again, it's their choice if they want to leave for whatever reason that may be, but I myself must admit I'm not 100% supportive if it turns out an idol has left their group in search of easier fame, having gathered the necessary exposure. But I'm the sort of person who likes joint efforts and puts the happiness of others before myself if needed, so I'm biased in that respect. Of course it's not a charity. They invest in these idols hoping they will pay their debts back and much, much more, so of course it's a loss for SM. But I don't believe it's just SM, so I get a bit annoyed when I hear people blaming SM in particular.
  6. I don't think people really believe SM is a wonderful company, because it's obviously not, and most people would rather idols leave and go be happy than loathe what they do. But still. If this is true, it's the fact that it'll have been so quick after leaving SM that seems dodgy. Of course, if you're a Luhan fan or whatever, you'll probably support him. To people who are fans of the rest of Exo-M or Exo in general, it may simply look like Luhan, like Kris, has ditched Exo for a chance to become a big star in China. I personally really didn't want to see Luhan jumping right into a role just as Kris did, because it doesn't really look good for him. Exo-M stand no chance now, and there's a chance Exo will promote even less in China now as they don't have a proper M unit. This could potentially mean less exposure for Lay and Tao in their home grounds, which I'm sure is not what they want. SM did give Luhan time off to get over his illness, though. Are people forgetting this? It's not impossible for these sorts of things to happen within SM, and negotiations can be made, believe it or not. Anyway, of course he has the right to leave. He has the right to live his life how he wishes, but don't be surprised if people get annoyed at him for joining SM knowing (or presumably being somewhat aware) he would enter a boyband and it would be a joint effort and it would likely take a long while before he could enjoy the idol life. Admittedly people can never be prepared for what the idol life, especially for a foreigner in Korea, brings, so I do have sympathy for him there.
  7. Oops, there goes any sympathy I had for him. (But I'll wait for confirmation, actually, though I won't be surprised)
