Granted I haven't seen Tao's kissing video so I won't be getting into that conversation. What I will say though is this: I've seen a lot of comments claiming this footage proves that Tao is 100% straight. Which is a perspective that has been discussed in this thread before (so much backtracking lol) and of course, is absolutely ridiculous and heteronormativity at its finest. Furthermore, people have been using "culture" as proof or somewhat of an indication that Tao could never kiss/hug/touch someone of the opposite sex while drunk because South Korea's "culture" doesn't allow it. And it makes me mad. Because culture imo isn't fixed or static. It's true that society has a lot of ideals and norms regarding accaptable and nonaccaptable behavior. And it's true that people are strongly affected by these ideals and norms, consciously or unconsciously. But there's always people who doesn't care about these notions or wants to challenge them or doesn't have a choice but to challenge them. Basically, there's always people who doesn't "fit in". And that's a part of culture too. It's like saying everyone in a country is straight just because the country in question doesn't allow (legally or otherwise) homosexuality. It doesn't work like that. Sexuality is not a choice. What I mean is, even if Tao kissed this girl it's not necessarily romantic or sexual. If Tao has (contrary to societal norms) platonic intent it is for him, per definition, platonic. While society affects personality and behavior it's not everything that ones personality and behavior is. And while it's important to regard cultural differences between countries it's also important to regard cultural changes (times are changing everybody hop on board) and cultural subcategories (like being an idol or being a part of the younger generation) and cultural minorities and exceptions. Sorry if this was a mess. Did my point come accross?

This reminds me of the recent live chat SHINee did in Japan, where they were calling fans and the male fan were Jjong biased (as expected). And the MC asked them if they'll be happy if it's a boy and Jjong said "Happy~~" Also Minho were doing fanservice saying "I love you" to Taemin... lol.

Same. I'm a silent lurker as well and have been enamored by this thread because of its rational and deep discussions. As a person a part of the "LGBT/LGBTQIA community" and a psychology student at that I find the analyses on sexuality, behavior, relationships, personality, culture etc. really interesting. On topic, I agree. If they were together (sexually or romantically or whatever) it was probably not a path strewn with roses. Firstly, they are idols and constantly under pressure and scrutiny from the company, the fans and society in general. Like it's only natural if that put a strain on their relationship from time to time. Secondly, like you said we don't know how their attraction to each other came about. Yunho and Jaejoong are imo two seriously interesting people. Separately. Which equals a seriously interesting relationship. And a complicated one. Personally I think both parties felt something for each other. And that something could be explained as attraction and chemistry and genuine feelings. I think and hope for their sake (because it seemed so so so intense at times) that they at least explored that. With accompanying consequences.
