The public is fickle, and I'm sure despite everything both of them will be able to rebound from any personal setbacks that may arise from having received the criticisms they have on the show. Even if it is hyperbolized by the pressure of the show to some extent, this is what they have to face as celebrities in probably its truest form. The more popular they get the more hate they will receive. It's a cyclical thing that manages to rear up especially in K-pop. What I mean to say is: ultimately, it's nothing to worry about. Everything will work out for the best.- 2,948 replies

CIX's Bae Jinyoung - OFFICIAL THREAD
KissontheW1nD replied to moondust's topic in Individual Artists
Sorry, I didn't mean to hit a nerve. I was just saying that no matter what exactly the hype was about; there was hype about his vocals. When I watched the stage, I figured the thing to expect would be his technique, and as you say, the hype was more on his tone as it would turn out. Still though, that doesn't very much change the fact that he is lacking. Even if he has made progress from where he was in the beginning of the show, casual fans such as myself and viewers of the show aren't going to see that or take that into account when making their judgments on top11. That said, even if he has a nice tone, if his technique is lacking, his unique vocals won't shine through in a way that appeals to anyone other than his fans. Moreover, even in comparison to some trainees who spend years honing their abilities, 10 months is still a long time. Several now main vocals of groups had only been trainees for 2 or 3 months before their debut stage, yet they were still able to hold the main vocalist position and sing at a level worthy of critical acclaim. This isn't to shame Bae for his own development because obviously not every case is exactly the same, but as you, I, and he said himself, he was nervous during this performance and his vocals suffered partly because of it. As mentioned before, no one expects any of the broduce boys to be at the same level as those that have already debuted or even each other. That's one of the reasons why they're on the show - to improve and to grow as singers and performers. My only reason for posting before was to say that I support Bae and hope that he continues to improve so in that same vein, I hope I cleared up any misunderstanding that might have sprouted from my previous wording lol. When he debuts, he will definitely have greatly improved, and this will be a great milestone for him to look back on. So let's support him and continue to look forward to that day! :U -
CIX's Bae Jinyoung - OFFICIAL THREAD

Ah...after all the hyping up from netizen comments and you guys, I thought Bae would have more excellent vocals than what was showcased on that stage. Not to say it was bad but he was not as good as I expected. With more practice and more confidence, I'm sure he will be a more competent singer, but you can tell he was nervous here and his vocals were a bit lacking because of it. That said, I look forward to seeing how much he will improve by the time he debuts, whenever that may be. -
You can use a normal font size thanks. 2neways yeah, I think anything is possible, but, seeing as how SM didn't pick up any trainees from the first season or send any in for that matter, the chances are probably slim. Some trainees end up auditioning for agencies multiple times over before finally debuting or even being accepted, so there may be a period of limbo for some. However, some of the individual trainees specifically might have more of a chance than others unless they leave their respective agencies specifically to try out for another.
