I like all types of music so I don't really mind that Sixteen diverges from the norm in K-pop (because the Lord knows we need more musicality in this genre), but like I said, it just doesn't suit me really. Nothing to do with autotune or vocals or anything like that - I just wouldn't listen to this song more than once because imo there are other similar songs out there that do what the producers of Sixteen were trying to do but more successfully. Again, not that the song itself is bad, but it could be better. As far as charting and public acceptance in SK, I definitely think Samuel's fandom would need to be larger before more people open up to this type of sound. For example, groups like BTS and GOT7 started out with a particularly more Western hip-hop influence, but even though they had good songs, it wasn't necessarily something that would appeal to Koreans in a general sense. Hence why comeback after comeback both groups experimented with different sounds and concepts eventually to the point where now GOT7 is again promoting more Western-influenced music and BTS is well...BTS lol. (slay @ them) Other groups have had to go through a similar process. 2neway, my point is that the likelihood of Samuel doing well on the charts in SK isn't high. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think he's even appear in the top 100 on Melon yet at least as I type this now. Regardless of that, in time and with the right songs and proper promotion, he will eventually most definitely see success to the point where he may even decide to produce his own music. He's still very young (so much so his voice still hasn't finished developing remember!), so there is definitely plenty of time for such experimentation etc. But what's most important is that until he shows himself deserving of otherwise, we should all continue to support and cheer for him until he is a big success.

Oh I didnt know Lucas was from Hong Kong. He must definitely is at least somewhat versed in English then! That's true! I noticed, but I never figured that Winwin was especially good at English just that since it is one of the foreign language musts that he was familiar with a few words and phrases. It must be so shaking being back out as an idol rather than a trainee again. He seemed the same on his stage performance... Tbh, Sixteen is not my flavor personally so it makes me even more upset that he's in a sense stuck with BraveBros. I'm sure that they will promote him well, but it doesn't seem like they are capable of giving their own artists solid songs let alone ones that chart well. Either way, it's good that his debut was successful, and I'm sure there are a lot of fans who enjoyed it so hopefully as he continues to grow and mature he'll be able to get even better songs and better stages.

It's very likely that because he didn't have consistent schedules before PD101 that he would visit his family overseas and vice versa as seen on his personal Instagram. But obviously since before pd101 even started he has had a pretty packed schedules from award show performances to now. At this point, it has probably been well over half a year since he's last been to America. That said, I think it's natural that he would become a bit rough with his English without ample time to use it freely (that is: at least with someone else who can understand and reply back). Plus, he has said before that his Korean is weaker than his English so he might have taken time to make sure that he would be able to properly promote and present himself on PD101 etc. by strengthening his grasp of the language however that may have looked and took place. It's the same phenomenon that often happens with students that study abroad. It's not that he's "getting worse at English," but similar to muscle mass, since he hasn't had to use it in a while, he's gotten a bit weaker at it. The same can be said about any other international idol as well. My point is that it's nothing to worry about lol
