The old system (locked/unlocked) was managed with a spreadsheet, but now we are trying to move over to an item-form of token that you can share/trade/transfer fluidly on your own!

So as I have announced, 16th of August is the last day for the grace period when you can redeem items with the old token system. From now onwards users won't be able to trade with the old token system, and we will move towards using the new system!

 

One more thing, this is also the last day that the Custom Award Request Form Entry is tradeable. We will halt the ability to trade the items in 6 hours time! Buying or selling them, please do it quickly!

Well if you guys are just gonna keep changing the system when u think there is a problem, it makes tokens unreliable for me. I know that tokens where just introduced as extras for winning games, but it makes it fustrating. Its like we were promised somethign and than u guys changing your minds cause u don't want people to have it.

 

The token system just seems unreliable. Ill play game for sake of playing, but I dnt think tokens are worth anything anymore

that's a good point tbh. I do see the most sought-after prize is always the unique badge, and it has been the main source of problems.

Technically I do not have any problem with other prizes, and with the unique out of the system I was hoping we could settled on the rest of the prizes. 

As the very first person proposing the token system, I actually have a plan in mind, but it wasn't carried out fully well yet. I can't really fathom all the possible problems with the system yet(it's not even fully in effect yet OTL), so sometimes I will just have to take a risk to get a hang of it, in order to rectify and improve it. I know i made a harsh decision, but I couldn't agree with the old system any longer.

So will u guys stick to thisnew system or are u likely to change it again if "too many" peopLe get something worth while out of it?

 

Basically, I don't know. I think you are trying to imply that we change the system because 'too many' people get something out of it. It's true, I want to limit the number of unique awards added. And additionaly prizes are being added because we want to try new things out. 

I don't think this is a perfect system, and eventually we may have to adjust/modify it, but how? I don't know either.

Are you serious? How many people ACTUALLY have unique awards? It seems like a HUGE excuse to me. In the end only staff people have unique award as far I have seen in this site

Not really though. The number of games/events that gave out tokens this year was pretty lacking tbh. They were pretty infrequent, which made it really hard to earn tokens. Even with the games that were created, a huge amount of tokens wasn't given out, which would be fair/reasonable if there was also a reasonable amount of opportunities to obtain tokens.

It was even hard to win in the Count to 30 thread bc staff started posting wayy more often than before.   

 

Anyways, thanks for creating the buffer period and taking our suggestions/opinions into account~

I honestly don't know if a lot of people will be buying tokens tbh, because I feel like the most desired prize from the old list was the unique badge... so it might be hard for people to sell their tokens. Who knows what will happen though.. If that does become the case, maybe you can compensate them by letting users sell their tokens to the system for like 25k?   

Also, please create a feature or something where we can hide these coin icons. If that's not possible, then I probably won't be playing or participating in future games/events that have these physical tokens as prizes, which is a shame because I really do enjoy playing some of the games the events team make.

you are basicdally forcing me to sell my tokens immediately if I don't want these coins to show up in my album arrangement after every game... So there won't be trading of low level tokens to platinum for me cause I just don't want to save them up with how that looks

I know many of you are not happy with the change in the system. However, I do think the old system was in dire need of a change. With the old system, for all the tokens given out within a month, you can obtain 3-4 unique awards in total. Put in a year's time, the sum would amount to 40-50 awards, which I suppose 20+ of it would get redeemed yearly. That is a lot of unique awards to be added, which would lessen the impact of the 'uniqueness'. All in all, we have decided to remove the unique awards from the list of prizes, and compensate with the introduction of a couple more prizes, such as increased signature size, introducing new anime badges/items to the marketplace. Unfortunately, that's the decision that we have come to, and we will not add back the unique award to the list of prizes, and it will only be available as special prize in events from now on. I want to apologize to all the people actively working towards the unique award, but this is a harsh decision I have to go through.

 

For the system of physical tokens, this is meant to improve on the efficiency of the system. I think many of you would agree that managing a token list with an excel spreadsheet may not be the best idea, and trading/exchanging tokens would be a real hassle. The tokens are thus converted to physical items, which allow easier trading/transferring, without the explicit intervention from the event team. Some of you may argue that the tokens, other than the rare Platinum tokens, do not have much worth, and instead can just be won instead. We have plans in our mind, to make the tokens system worthwhile, and there will be ways to obtain Platinum tokens from lower-level tokens. We will introduce that to you when the team is ready with it.

 

We would allow a 2-week grace period, when you can exchange your old tokens according to the old prize list, with the exception of the unique award. I would allow it until the end of Sunday 16th August. After that, we will fully move to the new system, and your old tokens would be converted.

 

We have gone a long way, since the beginning of the forum. For years, we only had wons as prizes, and we still had a blast with all the fun forum games. As the forum games section grew bigger, we want to award the people with small forum things, just to acknowledge the importance of forum games within the community, and that was when the token system was conceived. A lot of effort has been spent to ensure people having fun playing forum games, and in return some of us get cussed out for it. I hope most of you understand that we do not want to 'fk u up' or whatever. The Event team will try their best not to disappoint with their upcoming games, and I hope you guys have an open heart and enjoy what we have to offer.

it happened when there's some special characters in your notification, so maybe it happens when you follow a thread with a lot of special characters in the title.

We are looking for a fix right now, but for now I can only suggest to visit it through the settings, clear the notifications, and maybe unfollow some threads for the moment :(

Hello. I have a problem. For some reason, I am experiencing trouble quoting people these past few weeks.

 

When I quote, type a message and hit post, a post with nothing (no quote and none of my messages) is posted. Though sometimes, only my message is posted.

 

It's getting quite frustrating so I would like to ask you mods if you can do anything about it? Thank you very much in advance!

I think the problem is that the browser didn't load the site correctly, so some of the functionalities may not work correctly.

Can you try a hard refresh of the page, using Ctrl+F5, maybe a couple of times? It may work after that.

But if it doesn't, tell me and I will try my best to help

This doesn't really make sense to me though as there are a lot more people who want and are willing to keep group/member badges than there are for OTP badges which usually only have the minimum "keepers" keeping them. I understand it can be and issue for some "nugu" groups but even then they still have a sufficient number of people keeping them. Also for OTP badges; it's easy to get keepers and supporters as people don't really mind about helping a friend out; if you check there are many OTP badges with just 1 or 2 current keepers.

 

 

Maybe you should think about separating actual custom awards (i.e. actors and badges with random photos and those which are more for the requester) from group/member badges and soloists badges.

 

For lesser known/"nugu" groups, members and soloists: as with the current OTP system; you can then have those require keepers and supporters.

 

Custom Award 250K:

Actors (as this is mainly a music focused forum and the actor threads aren't really than active)

Anime etc.

Chinese and Japanese awards (as this is mainly Korean focused forum)

Requester specific badges (i.e. the ones with the random photos lol)

 

All OTP Awards 150K: (there are too many of these as they are currently free; these are the ones you should be restricting tbh)

• Keepers and supporters needed
• Can not be used in replacement of a group award (I can imagine some people trying it because it's cheaper lol).

 

Korean Group/Members/Subunits and Soloists* - Free and upon request with proof of badge (photo) voting.

• For lesser known/Nugu groups Keepers and Supporters needed (e.g. for the 2Eyes, A.Kors, D-Unit, Clovers of the world) Or maybe the mods can determine whether this should be classified as a custom award.

* Maybe limit it to the top well known companies.

If you are trying to reduce the number of badges being added onto the system; then why are pointless OTP badges free and available to make anytime; with countless being made every week??. A group of us literally managed to get an OTP badge made in the space of a few days yet if we have to "compete" for forms to make group and individual badges 

 

Shouldn't it be the other way around. It seems rather counter intuitive considering that an individual member can essentially have x number of OTP badges; then times that by the number of people in the group and it's works out a lot more than providing free requests for new group and member badges as these fixed numbers (bar member changes ofcourse).

 

I hope you guys are currently reviewing the process tbh.

We understand there are frustration about it. I explained briefly about our rationale above, but yes, we are always listening for opinions to improve on it There are always things we can improve on, I think so.
