I like Rin's angst though. Someone needs to be that moody SOB tsundere. Rounds things out. Would be nice if someone slaps him though.

Yeah, there was a post earlier in this thread that showed the comparison between the anime settings and real-life ones. I just wonder where it's based off of.

I got a parking ticket, an $86 one for parking in the wrong spot in the same lot. I appealed it, but will have to wait 2 weeks to see. And the volunteer services doesn't want us doing any extra hours or shifts because they said it "takes up someone else's time" but I asked what about if no one is scheduled and I call, they still said no. I can't do make ups if I'm gone. Thing is, the clerks and nurses are all fine with it because we help them out so much. I work in oncology and my charge nurse said to speak to a higher up and say something about "patient satisfaction" and if they still say no, come to her or the floor manager. It's getting better though. and I like the work I do.

Glad I'm not the only one. I admit, I do love most of the art everyone posts on here, so keep it coming everyone! lol I do enjoy the showcase of all the male bodies. My reasons are a bit more primitive, but I still can appreciate aspects, like the butterfly. And being a Kyo-Ani production, the art and animation is typically really nicely done. It makes me excited to see some of the matches. I imagine the team wants to do them well, so they may not have tons, but they should be good. I do think people tend to cheapen both, though i haven't found it as bad here as I have in other series such as Kuroko. Even on tumblr it doesn't seem bad. I haven't found any porn of this show on my dash like I have with kuroko or Attack on titan (LevyxEren is incredibly popular for some reason). On a similar note, on another forum people were complaining about too much fanservice, but I honestly don't see a ton in here. They are swimmers, so it's naturally that they'd be in their swimsuits; it isn't totally random. I agree as well about the story and characters. I'm truly invested in them, and look forward to see how they act and change. Kou is probably my favorite, but I also relate to her a lot. Dreading that cliche as well, but ideally the show won't go too far that route. Haru suddenly getting a really competitive edge against...every opponent and wanting to beat them. None of them seem to be like that, and the show seems to use swimming as a conduit for it's slice of life narrative and themes of friendship and joy. They reach a larger audience that way while utilizing a fairly popular sport, well one that is getting more attention due to the Olympics and popular swimmers like Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin. On the other hand, i do want some actual competition, and not just the last 6 episodes just being the same day match. Or worst, the last 2. They way Rin speaks, it seems like ti may be, but we'll see. I think Chihayafuru's first season handled the balance between all aspects really well. Pacing may end up being the biggest issue the show faces.

Watching the anime. I have like 8 episodes DVRed that I need to catch up on. Around the N and White ruins storyline. Kanto is on there too. I find professor Juniper's father really funny. I'm really liking Iris and Cilan though, so I don't want to see them go =(

I enjoyed the past episode, though I think 2 remains my favorite. Kou's little monologue when the boys were trying on swimsuits and the whole changing swimsuits scene drew parallels to how girls are shown in lots of anime, and I really liked that slight role reversal. She's slowly turning into one of the main characters along with Haru despite not even being shown in the previews. Her and Rin's captain would be cute together. Seems like Rin doesn't hate Haru, but he still doesn't seem to like Nagisa or Makoto. I wonder what happened to him in Australia? Of course, it could be just he went to Australia to train and be the best but was still beaten by Haru. I really like that Haru isn't the typical sports protagonist in that he's super competitive and short-sighted. It's a refreshing change. Rei was kind of annoying though. Next week is gonna be a beach episode it seems. Looks like we'll see some more fanservice And maybe even Ama-chan or Kou in a swimsuit. Seems as though there might be something between Ama and Coach Sasabe. I feel like I'm the only one on this thread that is watching the show for anything other than just fanservice.

Well she's always been really skinny. It's hard to tell though since she's sitting down.

[OFFICIAL] K-Drama / K-Movie Recommendation Thread
sergel replied to Krystal.'s topic in Movies & Television
Thanks guys! Started Secret Garden a couple months ago, but it's pretty long. Plus the female lead kind of annoyed me at the beginning. I think what I want is that archetypal cool guy, not-so-cool girl stories. I guess Cinderella-esque, but doesn't have to be. Started Goong, but something about it is hard to get into. Though i love the female lead and her secret man. -
I like Nagisa a lot more now than I did at the start of the series. I like his determination and vigor. Seems like the next episode will focus on teaching Rei to swim. I wonder how much swimming will actually be in the show. Like other sports shows, it might just be a conduit for slice-of-life relationships. And I love this pic.

[OFFICIAL] K-Drama / K-Movie Recommendation Thread

Can someone recommend me a guilty pleasure drama please? As in the poor girl rich man ones, like Boys Over Flowers or Cheongdong Alice. -
I really loved his last album.

The haru-chan-san had me in stitches. I'm liking Rei. And he has the best body of the bunch. I didn't expect him to belly flop that bad. Glad no one made fun of him for it or got mad at the team for bringing someone who can't swim. As someone who can't swim myself, i can relate. Rei seems to be taking Rin's place on both the team, but also in other ways. Rei's animal is the butterfly, and that is Rin's stroke. Rei already seems to dislike Rin unlike the rest of the cast, so it'll be interesting to see that play out. I expected a bigger scene of Kou and Rin reuniting though. That was my only disappointment.

Ah okay thanks. So she's kind like a sub vocalist? It's kinda sad tho that they have been around nearly two years but haven't released their own album yet :(

This drama got me into dramas. I loved it, tho a big part was Hoya's storyline. It was handled in sucha good, realistic, and relatable way. And yeah, never heard anyone who saw it say the acting was bad. Some scenes were over the top, but I liked the acting. The drama spoiled me, I expected every I kdrama to be at that level. Side note, I wish sony would allow their vids outside of Japan.

Jun and Mao were great together. I can't even remember the actress for Jan Di. Loved Lee Min Ho in it though. It's funny, that drama shot him to stardom, but the actress I never really heard of again. I liked the story a bit more in the Korean version because it was longer, thus explored more things. Also, I like that it was less violent, it made it more believable in that regard. Hated the ending though, the original one was great. I'm a sucker for big events. I really enjoyed Yuki's storyline in the Korean version. It wasn't really touched upon much in the Japanese drama, but it felt more fleshed out in the former. Kim Kibum and Kim So Eun had more chemistry together than the main couple I wonder which mom is eviler? Both seem like they need some holy water thrown on them. Still, any version I still kind of get annoyed how badly she's treated, and then I get upset how indecisive she gets later on.

So I'm confused, I thought they always had only 2 singers.

Thanks. I really like this song, but the video and dance make it really great. The dance is my favorite of theirs yet, makes me want to go find their album material.

So I'm really loving Flower's latest MV. The song is nice and all, but the video and dance make it great.
