Wow, I rarely go on OH nowadays. Life + that big server crash really just kind of did it for me. But I saw the news today and had to login. I had to reset my password lol.

I think I joined this forum right around 2014, when the whole Jessica vs. SNSD was blowing up. Oh man, this forum was bananas at that time. Buncha keyboard warriors from both sides let me tell ya haha.

Those were some fun memories though.

Oddly enough, I'm not that disappointed to find out about this.

I guess it's due to the fact that KPOP to me is just THAT. This is something that I don't take too seriously.  I'm only here for the music and visuals. Yeah it sucks that it had to be someone from Red Velvet, but I'm over it already. KPOP goes on for me, and I will continue to like Irene and the rest of the cakes girls.

Damn, they've come so far. 

They got stomped on by the public for debuting during the mess that was 2014, but they never wavered. Then they introduced a new member early in 2015 and received yet another wave of criticism.

Fast forward to today, and RV is on everyones playlist. Big facts.

Not saying they will disband, but things may or may not change for them after their contract is up. SM never officially disbands a group.

When it's all said and done, they are legends that future KPOP groups will look up to for years to come.

Disclaimer: I am in NO way an SM stan. I'm simply a good music fanatic, and I don't always like what comes out of SM production.

Now as I was saying, people often use the argument against SM that all they do is hire foreign producers to make their hit songs. While that is not new information at all, does it really matter?

I give props to SM for the good sh*t that they put out, not HOW they make it, as long as it's legal and honest.

Some fans of other companies sit on their high horses for having their faves' songs be produced in-house compared to SM, and that's great and all. But does knowing that fact influence the way you HEAR the song? If it does, then you ain't really listening to the song with your ears to determine whether it's good or bad, but with your emotional attachment to the company.

After all, it still takes a genius pair of ears from someone in SM to approve a good song from these foreign producers.

I swear some of ya'll be actin like your favorite "American" gadget(s) isn't built with Chinese components
