Sa Eun is totally six or seven months pregnant, and never gave an interview where she stated that they had discussed when to start a family, like rational, responsible adults, and that it'd be after Sungmin finished his military service. How dare you imply that a 31 year old woman with talent, a career of her own, and ambitions for higher education, from a well-off family, is anything other than a fame-hungry succubus. Next you'll be telling me that she and Sungmin followed Korean tradition and got their parents' permission to get married, and that their parents paid for the wedding and honeymoon, too. Honestly.

Let's not give SM too much credit. The blame for the Korean public's low opinion of Super Junior rests pretty squarely on management and PR, and more to the point, the lack of it. One good music video (which the artist technically pays for anyhow) cannot compensate for years of barely there promotions and a lack of legacy building where Super Junior is concerned. SM has also done the most to put other trend groups into the spotlight, and as we've seen several times now, has cost SJ awards and well-deserved recognition. It has also hurts the boys, not to mention ELF. But it doesn't mean SJ or ELF are going to stop trying. Weeds and cockroaches aren't that easy to kill. Korean digital performance isn't everything. The song and music video have been well-received by fans and non-fans, and the album is doing really well on iTunes. Plus, the physical album hasn't even been released yet! The album is good. As was Mamacita/This is Love. Most of what they've put out in the past year has ranged from solid to incredible, and even if 99% of their singles don't make a dent digitally, their releases sell well. Poor digital performance doesn't lessen the quality of the music--nor does it take anything away from the boys. I'd rather they keep putting out music they're proud of and/or composed, continue to keep making the most of their group vocals, keep performing their own choreo, keep designing their own albums, keep having a say in their MVs, etc., than start catering to the Korean public, who never has and never will fully appreciate SJ or their place in Hallyu. Yes, it's excruciatingly unfair. And it hurts. But lets not give the people who didn't even know Kyuhyun could sing too much credit. But most importantly, if D&E went into this aiming for digital chart domination, the album wouldn't be as good as it is. You can't create a piece of work that is true to yourself if you're not doing it for the right reasons. D&E's dream was to perform together and make ELF happy. That's all the boy have really ever wanted. And that is where they don't just do well, they excel like no other.

This is exactly why SM fills me with rage. They should be shouting this from the rooftops. It should be all over the Korean portals. They should be pointing out that Siwon is making huge bank starring in a film with three globally recognized actors. It doesn't matter if his part in the movie is small, he still has fourth billing. Siwon works SO hard and he's one of the biggest individual earners at SM. Do the man a solid and start hyping this before the movie opens in Korea. Because if it was YG, they'd be acting like Siwon invented celluloid and emotions. They might exaggerate, but they know how to build cred for their artists and interest in projects, and it's not like their marketing department is all that great, either. Super Junior Sweet Elf Day Photobook

I always think of the moment at Teuk's enlistment when Shindong pressed his cheek to Sungmin's shoulder, trying to hide he was crying, and also kinda using Ming's sweater as a hankie. And Sungmin just smiled through it, even though you could tell he'd been crying. It is amazing when you really stop to think that SJ has been active without at least one member since 2010, and yet they've still been incredibly successful. Five years is already longer than a lot of K-pop careers even last. Sungmin hunting for light blue balloons during a game at ELF Day.
