Maybe I'm just a gross wota, but I would love to attend a proper handshake event for AKB. I went to an event for Kago Ai who used to be in Morning Musume and loved the interaction. I'm also a more touchy-feely person so the idea of having a girl squeeze my hand is something I like. I know there are plenty of wota who feel like Timmeon though, particularly older Harowota. They prefer a "feeling of distance" as they call it, and would rather see their Idols on stage performing rather than ever interact with or touch them. I think it's because they feel, and I'll even admit I kinda feel this way too, that the abundance of handshake events promotes a false sense of accquaintence with the girls, and causes some wota to feel unwarranted self-importance, like they're entitled to the girls' affection. I don't know, it's a thin line between weird and cute depending on who you are, but I like handshake events.

Handshakes are barely enough to make them break the million mark anymore, so they can't keep putting out any old song and still expect to keep the record. And no one is going to buy a Christmas song.

The Updated songs are garbage. Listen to the originals, particularly the ones that were originally arranged by DANCE*MAN. He's a genius. Best stages? B3, A1, and the Himawari stages. No contest. I really doubt the next single is gonna be a Christmas themed song. There might be one as a B-side, but I don't think management is stupid enough to try to sell a Christmas song as the main one. I'm pretty sure the reason they switched up the Janken prize was because they knew a regular Janken single would guaranteed sell less than a million and they didn't want have a definite combo breaker, so there's no way they'd honestly try to sell a Christmas song...right? Great, now you guys got me worried. Anyway, I'd put my money on it being a ballad. Ballad's sell well in Japan.

I would check out their Alo-Hello! DVDs, particularly the first one. You should be able to find it subtitled on a certain green tracker. Oh huh, I always thought it was used when Kpop groups release things after a hiatus. I've never heard it used in reference to J-music though.

I actually really like the covers. The photography is nice and they feel artistic. Nogizaka's really had the best covers IMO, especially since Barrette.

About the costumes, I believe she said they weren't being given costumes, which i interpreted as either: A) They aren't being made to wear costumes and can wear plain clothes if they want, or B) Management isn't making the costumes for them, so they have to make their own. The first choice is more likely, but wouldn't it be awesome to have footage of the girls creating their own costumes?

Some of the outfits are strangely mismatched, but I kinfa like them. Yay NakoMiku having higher positions than MioMeru! Nothing against the latter two, of course, just glad that NakoMiku will get a lot of screentime

The abuse Momochi took during that episode was amazing. Of course everything is discussed beforehand, rehearsed, and probably done in a way that's as painless as possible, but the fact that she played off it so well really cemented her as a future variety fixture IMO. I could see her becoming a permanent MechaIke fixture in coming years.

Eh, theater versions are easy to get for cheap on eBay, so if she's featured on that and another version in a coupling song my wallet is okay with that. Buying all three LEs would just be murder when I'm trying to save money

I didn't even see the original incident between Katou and Mayuyu, but I remember hearing about it and thinking it was ridiculous because that's what Katou's known for. He did the same thing with Momoko from Berryz Koubou on a show and I don't remember hearing any outcry about that. The good thing is that Mayuyu and Katou have sorta become a unit when AKB goes on MechaIke, and they go WAY rougher than just kicking in the head, but there hasn't been anymore backlash. It's great, because they're actually HILARIOUS together.

Mikurin is like a doll... I'm not mad about the HKT senbatsu at all. Haruppi deserves the center position, and I doubt Sakura is mad about not getting it, since she's mentioned before that she just wants someone from 1st gen to be the center and she'll be happy. Sakura is next to get a center single (stagnant centers are boring, they should switch them up from time to time). Anya, Yuka, and Mai were bound to drop from senbatsu. Even before Anya's scandal, all three of them were plateauing whereas other girls were starting to rise. I also wouldn't be surprised if this lineup was picked before the elections. I feel like Anya will be back in next senbatsu, but for now, I think they'll shine fine in a coupling song. Boss was never in senbatsu except for Wink wa 3kai, so even with the kennin position, I didn't expect her to make this single. As for Mao getting in, I'm just glad that someone is using their draft member. I hope Nako is only on one coupling song, or no coupling songs, so that I only have to buy one version of this single
