  1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! One thing I would like to really emphasize on your comment is that if people don't understand why it's a problem - they shouldn't talk over others who do think it is. Cultural appropriation is very complex and it is damaging to the people who have their cultures appropriated by people who couldn't give less fucks about the origin or importance of what they're trying to steal. The thing with Kris is he has said he has researched about hiphop and its history and how it came to be.. but I feel like he only skimmed the surface and mainly sees it as a style~ which is what I'm really worried about this whole thing. He's basically accessorizing the whole culture and while he's not the only one and it's basically a common thing everywhere - it doesn't mean he gets a pass. He's smart and he should know better.
  2. Lol, he's been doing that since the Yoho shoot and I've been whining about it ad nauseam. Like, dude, I love you and all but just don't. Not your culture, not your place.
  3. There's a heal/hurt game including Kris so go heal him if you want to - http://onehallyu.com/topic/235152-hurtheal-k-pop-groups-ex-members/ IDK how I feel about the fanmeet. Not a fan of this whole hiphop concept he's going for.
  4. Passion Heaven's release date will be announced at the end of the month. Mermaid is getting released on Feb 8th 2016. No word on SYSH but probably later this year.
  5. The embezzlement lawsuit is a different case. A clearer translation with some explanation: I want someone to translate the original transcripts from Korean to give more of an idea.
  6. It should be under labor law but since this isn't a labor contract then it's a bit.. tricky. The KFTC standard contracts for artists included a clause that said that the company can extend the length to more than 7 years if the artist has foreign activities and if the artist signed a contract specifically for foreign activities (like the contract with Media Asia). Their lawyer can argue though that a 10 year length is excessive and restrictive (coupled with the ridiculous breach of contract clause) and as such would break some civil laws so we'll see how that goes.
  7. No, they let go of Hangeng when they reached a settlement. This is based from the transcripts of the hearing. I'll share when I have more info! It's also been translated in Chinese.
  8. Not sure where to post this but since you guys might be interested then I'll say it here. I've heard from some Korean source that Luhan agrees to still be under SM but have SM's managerial rights be transferred to Luhan's studio and that SM wants a 30% cut and 10 years but Luhan is only willing to go for 10% and 7 years.
  9. It's not true that Li Yifeng was more promoted in 2014 for the movie though... that's an outright lie by them. Even when it was just rumored on Chinese sites, Kris' character was always named as the antagonist that was going head to head with Feng Xiaogang's character. Here's a translation of an article last year. (He was even dubbed as one of the leads). Li Yifeng is just Feng Xiaogang's son in the movie. Kris' role has always been bigger. His name was the one they used to make a splash: Li Yifeng wasn't even announced until the end of November. So that post and all their whining is just making me lose respect for their fanbase because Kris deserves higher billing. It doesn't seem like they want an explanation, it just seems like they want to blackmail Huayi into putting Li Yifeng's name first since this movie isn't only expected to do well box office wise but also among critics and if Li Yifeng's contribution is seen as smaller than Kris' then they can't brag about it.
  10. No, I'm not.. but at first you were basing some of your dislike of him on what KrisKingdom posted as we can see from your initial reply to SOS about Kriskingdom's post. I was correcting what they said because it's honestly awful for a fanbase to try to convince a fandom to dislike someone based on lies and false accusations. You can dislike him all you want. I don't care. I just don't want that post to be the reason because it was posted with malicious intentions and you admitted it worked on you and you even brought up something that wasn't true that they claimed on that post. You even said it confirmed some things for you but again, that blog post was full of falsities and assumptions. As for the DVD, it's out. Link here.
  11. What was it about the second interview that you disliked? ----- And to keep this on topic - Kris will continue filming Challengers Union on the 19th.
  12. None of what that blog post posted was true. Tao never liked anti-posts about Kris. This is why posts like that are disgusting. They intentionally mislead people.
  13. I think what C-Meigenis have to acknowledge is that while, yes, Tao fans were brutal to them after Kris left... they're not exactly innocent either and they've attacked Tao and his fans FOR YEARS. (And it was because they thought Tao was gay and they didn't want him near Kris which is just disgusting). And they also made up that stuff about Tao stealing Kris' shoes or something. C-Meigenis are far from clean and I just realized this more after seeing what KrisKingdom translated and reading other similar posts written by them. It's exactly what Luhan fans did when Kris left and it's just so awful because they're taking the focus from how bad SM is as a company and making it all about hating Tao and contributing to the cyber bullying everyone is doing against him. You can't even go to a Tao post to see any positive comment.. that's how bad the hate is getting. Anyway, I guess bottom line is that I'm disappointed in the fandom and I hope more people speak out against what they're doing.
  14. Meigeni Express and I'm pretty sure The Dreamer will also sub it. Yifanfengshun might do that too but they kind of take their time lol. Yes it's a trial date.
  15. Seems to be Aarif Rahman, the lead male in Empress of China (w/ Fan Bingbing). He was also in a 2012 movie with Fan Bingbing called "One Night Surprise".
  16. His "speed of increase of public attention" grew by 2969%: In things like this, it's always better to look at percentage of growth because it gives you an idea on how they'll fare for the long run. Since Tencent posted it then it's confirmed because that's their show.
  17. I was replying to what she posted about Katie and explaining that that wasn't what Katie meant. I'm not the one who brought up Kris or anything related to him. I searched his name and this thread popped up and since I knew the person she was talking about then I felt I had to clarify.
  18. Okay, I'm just gonna comment on here because I know Katie and that wasn't what she meant. She was trying not to overhype him in ifandom because of all the comparisons with her other bias. She does that with Luhan too. If you're trying to say that Sina is somehow favoring Kris then you are extremely mistaken. His name trends often and gets really high before his name just disappears into thin air and that has happened a lot. (We actually have proof and I've seen it happen with my own eyes. He trends every time he does something, even the tiniest thing like posting a weibo but when it reaches the top 5 then poof, gone). But if his name is just inserted into a topic, like say, "Wu Yifan Baseball" or something then it gets to trend for a longer time. There is no bias towards him and I wish that people would stop trying to undermine him or downplay his popularity because he's really popular too. That's all. Edit: Are you people really going to neg me for clarifying something?
