  1. I'm lucky enough to be in Seoul this week and just saw Music Core on my hotel room TV. Great performances - the best I've ever seen from SNSD. Now to find some way to see them in person before I leave...
  2. Just as I thought after seeing the teaser: song is good, visuals are spectacular, concept is too young and silly. Their concepts, to me, are going backwards - but I suppose their company is making them do what Koreans want to see. I still like this, though - it's very watchable. AOA will still be the #1 girl group in Asia by 2017. But they'll get there even faster if they adopt more mature concepts with greater international appeal.
  3. I like Sooyoung's short hair, but she can NOT wear schoolgirl-style clothes with it...she looks 12 years old in this picture.
  4. Well, the real solution is for them to just stop performing "Gee", "Oh!", "Kissing You", and all of the other little girl songs they (and many of us) can't stand any more. They won't "halfass" songs they like - but their fans - and SM - shouldn't expect them to keep performing the antique material in the same old way. Re-arranged versions, like the reworked "Into the New World", are OK - and a good way to pay tribute to their past without trying to re-live it.
  5. Sooyoung is one of the very few celebrities I've seen who just keeps getting more beautiful every year.
  6. They want Gee. Again and again and again. To them, that's all SNSD is, and it's why those same people support all the new, young SNSD imitators so strongly. It's not even worth arguing with them.
  7. This is good. This is very good. The critics on other threads are way off base. SNSD seems to have finally thrown away the pony tails and lollipops and found a mature look and sound that works for them. It suggests the Korean comeback is going to be epic. 4.5 stars - minus half a point for the somewhat annoyingly chromatic chorus. This release should take the media focus off of Suzy...for a while, at least.
  8. TTS showed plenty of energy last fall. I'm guessing the weak performances lately are just a combination of being sick to death of performing their old material (really obvious during some songs like Mr. Taxi), being overworked in general for eight years straight, and trying to conserve at least some energy for the upcoming comeback - which may well be their last. One way or another, the future of SNSD8 is short. TTS have proven they can do very well by themselves. Sooyoung and Yoona are more than ready to embark on full-time acting careers. Radio hosting seems to agree with Sunny. It's probably a real burden for all of them to have to constantly put their futures on hold for one more flight to one more hot and humid Asian city to play one more show full of "little girl" songs they probably find embarrassing, now. Anyway, we had better support them while we still can, rather than criticizing them for not performing Gee or Genie with the intensity of five years ago.
  9. It really has. I thought it was probably because most of the mods and subbers were Jessica fans.
  10. I think a lot of those are SNSD antis who are just pretending to be Jessica fans. There isn't enough evidence that the other members conspired against Jessica to justify that level of negativity. These people would be making the same accusations in a slightly different form even if Jessica was still in the group.
  11.   Around 2%.  These numbers have held steady since the first surveys taken in the Fifties.  Gay activists never deny these statistics - they just ignore them and talk like they are half the population.  I'm reminded of the old line about "the love that dare not speak its name" turning into "the love that cannot shut its mouth."    Regardless, I doubt more than a small handful of K-Pop stars are actually gay or lesbian. There is just a lot of fan service clouding the issue.
  12. About 1% of women are lesbians - but we are supposed to believe about 60% of K-Pop idols are lesbians just because delusional fans "feel" they are? OK...
  13. I'm sure they all like Yuri - who doesn't? I think their friendship is pretty strong again now that the crisis has passed. Is half the group sick? With Tokyo Dome coming up fast, that is bad timing.
  14. Maybe Tyler Kwon is the whole problem - SM doesn't like his image and doesn't want their flagship group associated with him in any way, even taking an action this drastic to avoid it.
  15. Maybe Jessica and Sulli should just switch groups? Problem solved...
  16. If I was in a dark room trying to read a newspaper, I would ask Yoona to come over and stand behind me. She is so beautiful she radiates light.
  17. I'm rather new to K-Pop in general. A Korean-American friend found out I'm a big fan of SNSD and AOA and told me I would really like KARA, too. He was certainly right. They are all lovely angels and Mamma Mia is one of the most beautiful music videos ever made. So I guess a new Kamilia is born...
