  1. I love this song! I wish they would perform it live though... Although the run isn't that fast, your note separation was great! What key did you change it to, if you don't mind me asking?
  2. I think this was one of their best Love Option performances ^^ The D5 at 2:52 sounds resonant good.
  3. Oh yay, I loved hearing her perform as Tiana! I hope to be able to see Lea perform live one day; your description fuels the anticipation. I'm very sorry for the mistake >< I've been pronouncing it wrong for a while then... Agreed.
  4. Happy New Year everyone! And... I'm sorry for being really late with all these questions. Would you consider Lea Salonga to be the most technically skilled Disney Princess? I remember it being said that Onika Noni Rose was pretty good, but how does she fare against Lea? I love this song ^^ Any reason why Minah was performing a Japanese song? (her pronunciation isn't that bad actually) This is such a fun performance DIA hits a whistle F6/F#6 (I can't remember for sure) in a performance from 2009.
  5. I think I finally get the whole this person's voice "shines" in this range because of their voice type now Also, how was Kelly's A5 in this video? It doesn't sound screechy like some of her other higher belts.
  6. According to the forum, she's "Ailee good". Resonant up to Eb5, but inconsistent above E5. Her lower register is better than Ailee's though.
  7. Found this on another thread, but 15& covering Bang Bang! I'm pretty sure all the C5's are resonant, but how about Jimin/Jamie's G5 around 1:16? Yerin's G5 was bad, but at least her runs sounded nice Can't get enough of the rapping ^^
  8. I'm going to go digging for Seohyun notes. (will post after this wave of SNSD attention dissipates a bit)
  9. Dayum. How did Michael Bolton fare though? He still sounds great for someone in his 60's.
  10. Same. I like these, I'll be saving them for future use.
  11. I mixed an A4 before and it was the highlight of my day, can't do it everytime I try though... The difference a semitone makes...
  12. um... I don't know if it's the video quality, but it sounds like C#6... and do you have a time stamp for the Tiffany note?
  13. B4 and C#5. All the top notes were flat. I've been curious about Mamamoo too! Here's an MR removed video that I think showcases their vocals a bit better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clHQvIweJ80 Could I get feedback specifically on the notes at 2:10 and 2:21?
  14. I checked out the other perfomances from the concert and they all sound live for the most part. Beast's especially, there was a lot of "adlibs", growling, etc throughout their stage. Sistar sounded live, as well as B1A4. There might have been a loud backtrack, but I think a significant part of all the artists' performances were live. EDIT: SNSD's performance, I feel, seems a lot better than what they've produced recently, which might be suspicious. But I want to give all of the artists the benefit of the doubt...
  15. I went and checked Sexy Love and Sugar Free, and both times it was Eunjung and Soyeon that hit the higher notes (at least I hope so), which is to be expected from their vocalists. I'm just surprised they gave the the C5's in Little Apple to Jiyeon and not Eunjung. I wonder if this means she's improved or it's just random. Thank you, Niki, for the responses!
  16. I haven't listened to Sexy Love in a while, which is probably why I forgot all about it. Do you remember if it was belted/who sang it? In any case, I didn't think Jiyeon had it in her to handle the more difficult parts of a T-ara song.
  17. I think Jiyeon belts a C5 at least twice in T-ara's new song (Little Apple), which I think is one of the highest notes I've heard in any T-ara song. I don't know whether or not the note is good, but from the lone MR Removed video on YT it doesn't sound terrible. Jiyeon's not one of T-ara's vocalists, iirc, so I wonder why Eunjung didn't sing at least one of the C5's.
  18. If you have audacity you could pick any song and just shift the pitch to a key you're comfortable in (This is pretty much what I do) Or pick a female song and just sing it down the octave.
  19. There are a few of us that think we're tenors, but we're not 100% sure.
  20. I understand. Um, could I get an answer on whether or not a more heady-mix is still considered a part of a person's mixed range though? (I feel like I'm not making too much sense) Cause if it doesn't count, I think I have a very narrow mixed range naturally... And I can falsetto up to C#6/D6 as well, I didn't think it was that impressive.
  21. Ugh. I hate missing so many posts... I feel like the discussion has moved on while I still have questions >< Anyways: If we're going to continue trying to figure out whether or not the "tenors" of the forum are actually tenors, I'd like to get some things answered (for theoretical purposes, since I still can't record myself.) Is a male head-dominant mix still considered a part of the guy's mixed range, since it's not technically the same thing as belting? I'm still working on bringing more chest voice into my mix and I only have a stable larynx till about F#4 when doing so. I think I successfully belted a A4 today, but most of the times it's more head-dominant. I'm not 100% sure but I think I mix, albeit not balanced, till D5 (anything above, I'm not sure if it's falsetto or heady mix) I'm considering the fact that if putting more chest into my mix is this difficult, I may just be a high baritone versus a tenor. I have made progress though, until a while ago my larynx would raise on F#4's Also, thank you for the song recommendations! On my own from Les Miserables right? Maybe...
  22. I got E4's down, F#4 is hit or miss... (that average tenor life) But I support below Eb3 easily, so that's a plus. Love. Has Sumi Jo's skill level changed over the years(for better or for worse)? I haven't listened to her recently.
  23. I think she might have gotten a F#5/G5 in there too.
  24. People only rave about more popular idols' high notes, and as much as I like them... idols like Dia are seriously underrated and deserve some affection. (like Luna) Does anyone know what performance the F#6 came from?
