This gif works surprisingly well with your statement.

I have no idea how to answer your question... Are you asking about Soohyun's vocals or the quality of your video?? Cause I was referring to the vocals .-.
-
He's a lot better than I expected .-. And bless whoever posted that Insooni video. Her stage presence >>>

Merry Christmas (to those of you who celebrate it)! And thank you for the Christmas surprise, Ahmin, VT Evil Queen, and Haruko!

I was judging just from where he usually speaks because it's pretty low for a tenor to be talking around all the time. He doesn't really sing the challenging lines in BTS songs anyways so I never really payed attention EDIT: Actually, I just listened to Run and his voice is a lot lighter than RM and V's so I want to take back what I said about assuming Jin's a baritone. (Though he could just be singing really lightly; it's not as if he supports his voice anyways)
-
I was listening to Jin talk on one of his V app broadcasts and his speaking voice is pretty low. Like it hovers around 2nd octave to low 3rd octave, so I think it's safe to assume he's probably a baritone as well.

I was under the impression that Solar had some supported F3 or F#3's from Mamamoo's appearances on IS2. Were those notes unsupported then? The vocalists of Namyu are all around the same area in terms of skill (Keumjo, Hyuna, Hyemi, &Kyungri) I wouldn't say Sojin is better than them...
-
Solar is the stronger vocalist between the two. Her lower range is better than Solji's and I believe Solar has C#5 whereas Solji doesn't. I'm not sure about Wheein and Hwasa in relation to Solji, but Wheein definitely has a more balanced mixed out the three. I think all of them have C5 but I would give the slight edge to Wheein since their lower registers should be around the same level.

There are some scenes that do occur later on in the series but I don't think any of them will spoil you

YES. Tbh, there are a bunch of Manhwa that I wish would get animated but at least its a step in that direction.
-
It's studio and in the background but there's nothing bad about them, the highest note was relaxed and resonant.

I have issue with jaw tension as well; I don't what it is about phrasing mixed notes that causes me to jut out my jaw so much. I remember somebody telling me that you can tell whether or not you're tensing your jaw by placing your thumb below your chin right behind the bone. If you're not tense then it should feel soft and vice versa. Basically just keep your thumb there when you're practicing and if it tenses, stop phrasing and try again. Hope this helps

For the longest time I thought Harry was the best in 1D but apparently not. lol I can't answer for iKon and there isn't a lot of material from Twice other than from their show and their live performances of Ooh Ahh, but we do know a few things. Jihyo is the best followed by Jeongyeon/Nayeon (Not sure in which order, but maybe a slight nod to Nayeon) None of them do well above B4, and even B4 may be iffy for all of them. I don't think Jihyo has a sustained B4 in mix in any of their songs as of yet, most of them are phrased which might be harder for her. And there hasn't been anything to show that their lower ranges are developed to a certain degree.

Well... we don't have a lot of material to go through from all of them so it's hard to make a firm decision since there's a lot of aspects of their voices that they haven't showcased. And your complaint about may be Jihyo correct, that she's often nasal and she yells above Bb4 but that goes for Seulgi as well. Seulgi is quite nasal, has shallow support, and a high larynx on notes above Bb4. I'm not familiar with Eunha but I know she doesn't have C5 either. If we only take a look at their weaknesses, all three of them share them. I remember when idols purposely had stage names so they avoided sharing a name with an already debuted public figure; guess that's an uncommon practice now. Unless she releases a ton of live singing material and shows amazing improvement, I don't think we'll see an analysis for a long time. There are a bunch of artists before 2012 that haven't been analyzed yet, and even then, there's 3 years in between 2012 and 2015 with vocalists to account for...

I remember watching SIXTEEN and the vocal coach watching the groups practicing said good things about the girl's improper techniques and even JYP said that when approaching the high notes the girls were using to much strength from their throat. So maybe the coach's know what they're talking about but the girls just aren't learning... LOVE JORDIN SPARKS.

I love Twice, but idk what JYP was thinking when he only put one serious vocalist in the group (Jihyo) when she wasn't even the best and then suddenly promotes Nayeon to lead. Same with Mina becoming one of more prominent vocalists of the group. I actually don't think Nayeon or Jihyo are that nasal cause when I think of nasal I think of EXID Hyerin... they are half-assing lifting their soft palates but it is not nearly as bad as you make it sound. Poor Nayeon, she looks distraught after she cracked, but yeah, B4 and above is not good for her. I'm iffy on the B4's for Jihyo but C#5 is definitely not good for her. Mina's Bb4 was one of her best out of all their lives, but yea not supported either. They're all really young though, so we might see some improvement ala Sunye or they may be promoted as a dance group like Miss A and the vocals will stay as they are...

I thought G#2 was pretty low, but I just realized that I don't talk that far from there. I'm somewhere between A2-G#3 when I talk
-
I can usually get down to F#2, but F2 only on a good day. All the vocal instructors I've seen online say that within a few lessons they guarantee another octave of singable notes but I highly doubt that would happen for me. I already have G2-G5 on a consistent basis, but man having 4 octaves would be pretty cool. And damn. You talk really low... Lower than most people can sing...
-
wth Eric... Seriously. From this we also know that Sana, Nayeon, and Tzuyu can also hit F6.
-
On first listen, his pitch is all over the place which is a sign of lack of breath support. If he was sitting while recording this, which is likely since he's probably playing the guitar, that may be a factor. He also needs to work on being less breathy in his falsetto and use less of his jaw/throat in his mixed notes. I didn't check the notes but most of the mixed notes were tense, he has plenty of time and room to improve though.
-
It's less of Taemin regressing (which he hasn't shown signs of) and more of Baekhyun/D.O/Onew being graded more harshly beforehand. All three of the latter have better lower ranges and a much better upper extension than Taemin even though Taemin has the best mix. A good mix does not make a good vocalist if they're very lacking in other areas.

Oh no, I love the 6th octave notes from some opera singers. I find their control up that high absolutely amazing. The staccatos and runs are insane. I specifically was referring to contemporary singers because their approach is different and it just sounds off-putting
-
The ease :ahmagah: I sort of agree. The 6th octave sustained notes from pop singers aren't all that appealing to me even if they're supported. I can handle up to C#6, and the soprano C is probably my favorite note regardless of who's singing it

Yaaaaaaaayyy, Seunghee. I've actually been meaning to ask about her, but I'll need to find the videos I saved somewhere. I'm hoping she'll impress us like Sandeul after she develops her voice a little bit more.
