  1. Long time no postt but just wanted to drop by and post that Lina was on King of Masked Singer!
I didn't see anyone else post about it

It's only a 2 minute performance, but it's nice to see her belting in the 5th octave again even though they don't sound as good as they used to
  2. OMG WHY DIDNT U SAY HI LOLOLOL They all just wanna accept specific people, not people good at singing.

I wasn't sure it was you at the time!

And I figured, the judge told me that I needed to work on my technique but I specifically picked a song that didn't phrase anything too high so I don't know what she means haha

  3. i love lurking here...

but i realize that there is not much spica-related post..

how would u guys rank the members?

Both Boa and Bohyung have analyses on the blog!

    Boa's https://kpopvocalanalysis.wordpress.com/2015/12/25/spicas-vocal-analysis-kim-boa/

    Bohyung https://kpopvocalanalysis.wordpress.com/2015/10/01/spicas-vocal-analysis-bohyung/

I think Narae might be Average by the blog's criteria, while everyone else would be weaker.

  4.

Once again take me for a grain of salt because It could be my bias, but this is what i hear. Please drag me if im wrong, not that im asking to be dragged.

So i found more OK C5s from Jessica. I know its from a studio track and she's never sung it live. So apparently in the track Galaxy Supernova, SNSD's lost C5 queen Jessica was serving you several seats while serving several supported C5s while sporting the pink jeans she stole from pink pig tiffany.

in the adlibs "cutest~, girls in~", theres a harmony going on of A4, C5 and E5. Seohyun sings the A4, Jessica sings the C5 and Taeyeon sings the E5.

Yall remember her strained E5s "IN THA GALAXY!!" right? Well in the 2nd one after she sings "IN THE GALAXY YE-EAH". YE was a C5 and was ok too.

Jessica in all those instances so far, theyre all ok. They are supported.

QUEEN! THATS 9 OK C5s IN A SONG. SLAY

Side note: this song is my jam.

Secondly, I still don't know why they gave the D5 to Tiffany, she never performed it even slightly well... They even gave the E5 to her during their Japanese tour and it just sounded painful.

  5. Really? I'd think Jungkook is average tho

Yes, people always talk bad about bts vocal line calling them the worst and weak.

I will screen shot what ahmin said and now when someone talks smack about bts vocal line. I will smack them with knowledge.

As much as I like their music, none of the tenors support Eb4. So unless they have like amazing lower ranges and head voices (which they don't) they are weak vocalists...

  6. well she's had better I performances I believe. She didnt really have power in her high note part, maybe shes fatigued or something?

I think she's really tired. She doesn't sound as powerful as before since that gaon awards D:

I think she said at the Gaon awards that she has a cold. At least she's on pitch for the most part.

  7. More material for SM's Taeil. It was a while ago, but I believe someone was hoping that SR16B's vocalists would get OSTs to show off since they'd most likely be promoted as a hiphop group, so here ya go.

There's a sustained G#4 or A4 in the latter half of the song somewhere.

  8. Mhmm no no...they're E5 and G5... Yes I do believe it's head voice.

The D5's are kind of whiny and screechy but it's somewhat stylistic... the E5 and G5 are nice, the C6 and above sound thinned out and screechy as well.. Idk what her voice type is.

    LAAATTEEE REEESPONSE.

As I was checking the notes I was going back and forth between the 4th and 5th octaves trying to match the pitch with my own voice and my piano and I was so confused. I went with E4 and G4, woops. But at least I was right about the quality of the 6th octave notes

  9. how is the E5-G5-C6-E6-G6 @2:33? and what is her voice type?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3nLr9Q6x-A

also how is the D5 @6:52 and 7:09?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4u6arH0zNY

The first two notes are actually E4 and G4. She jumps up an octave while ascending though, so the last three are right. It might be the audio quality but the C6 sounds a little shrill and then the higher notes even more shrill, but I'm not completely sure.

Both D5's were very closed, and the second one she started getting a bit nasal during the phrase.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxPPdI9AqX4

Was she using head voice at 2:40? It sounds sort of connected but at the same time very soft and airy like a falsetto.

  10. that G4 is actually confusing, the vibrato isn't wobbly but like overly fast and uncontroled, the placement is actually nice, but his instrument isn't exactly relaxed, I'll ask Ahmin tbh

I forgot all the other words to describe a vibrato other than wobbly for that moment I was typing. Yes, fast, that's the word.

Other than that though, I think it sounds really open and the placement is fairly forward. So I would describe it as nice, maybe not resonant but it sounds full enough to be considered supported (at least to me)

  11. link pls ?

I just listened to it again, and apparently I didn't notice the wobbly vibrato in the middle of the note on my first listen ... :rlytearpls:

    (disappointment)

Anyways, Hwanhee is the one singing the entire intro, and the G4 is at 0:25

  12. You think you've seen the worst of them? Well not yet. There are groups called Rare Potato and Welldone Potato.

    lMQLUkC.gif

    omg...

I'd take MAP6 and MFact over Rare Potato anyday...

I'd guess because of the influx of hip hop and survival show boy groups. Hip hop groups don't focus on vocals as much and survival shows are based on personality first most.

I agree. The more dance/pop influenced groups tend to have better vocalists. Like comparing iKon and Seventeen, though Seventeen has rappers they're more of the traditional kpop group than iKon is.

And the reason why I mentioned Day6 and Up10tion earlier is because I believe the main vocals for the two groups are at least average. I think Sungjin has some nice F#4's in their Bad Girl, Good Girl cover and Hwanhee has a nice G4 in their IS2 performance ^^

  13.

jung BAEhyun el podia ser un baritono?

I can't with this. This was so nice. On the topic of Herin though, she's only 13 and she's already slaying me.

The day I hear Disney owning SM.....

I never knew they had partnership lol

I didn't know about it until EXO released light saber and I did some research on it.

    he doesnt have G4/G#4?

    Not even F#4/G4

    giphy-facebook_s.jpg

What about the G4s in distance? The G4s in Tick Tack?

oh wow... this is surprising. I was sure he had at least G4 according to the vocal range video .-.

Some of his G#4's didn't sound that bad either...  :rlytearpls:
