My fav animes are the Vision of Escaflowne and Gundum Wing but I have a hard time finding new stuff.
I liked Inuyasha but it dragged on for too long for me.

OT on anime
so i guess if you know any animes that has horror and action in it, i would appreciate it or anything really
Lupin the 3rd are mostly known for the lighthearted crime/ caper/gentleman thief movies from the 70'es onward.
But as readers of the original manga knows, the stories have a dark, seedy and violent underbelly.... and last year that aspect was made into one of the years best anime series:
The woman Fujiko Mine.
Highly recommended, also for its perspective on the eternal love/hate struggle between Fujiko and Lupin - for forty years we have heard his side of the story; now its time for the other side...

Lol... I didn't make it. I've learned not to care so much, because this is the internet, and people will write however they want. If I'm writing more "seriously," though, I'll generally strive to use proper grammar. Quite frankly, being on mobile makes me lazy.

And seriously: we know that most Blackjacks are not native english speakers, and that a little guesswork on the readers behalf is required. When we do make an effort to understand each other, the discussion gets much nicer!
What to one Blackjack is offensive shading may just be another Blackjacks poorly phrased explanation of the special talents of her bias.
An example:
I like Dara's voice by itself and I also like the way it blends with the rest of the Ladies voices.
Now, if I was just a little less fluent in english my explanation could come across as shading..... Imagine that I wrote:
{disclaimer: not my real opinion - just a sample sentence}
"There are two dominant strong/powerful voices in 2NE1 now, CL and Minzy, and that is too much! Many songs get more shouted than sung, and more of Dara's delicate and etherical tone is needed to counterbalance this"
That would be read as shade throwing, but what I really meant was that:
"Dara's "thin" voice is an essential complement to CL and Minzy's "full" voices - the combination makes the OT4 both strong and physically grounded, AND feminine in an old fashioned delicate way - thus placing them in the post-modern tradition of the use of symbols stripped of their original context. Or to be specific - when they as a group picks style elements that signals "cute", "cudly", and "childish" that does not mean that they are immature kids waiting for directions from oppa. And when their style elements signals "strong", "fierce" and "classy" that does not mean that they are inapproachable man haters. BTW: I mostly like their soulful ballads, and, still liking their energy, I don't se them as a rock band, but as a dance band with energy to spare. Therefore I mostly enjoy those songs where the energy is understated and not expressed through symbolic dynamism, like shouting and jumping"
{disclaimer: My true opinion is that I like their power just as much as their soul - I love to se them jump and hear them shout...}
When comparing the texts under the spoilers it should be obvious that the content is the same - just expressed through two different idioms...
My point is that every forum reader should try to imagine the text under spoiler number 2, when reading a text like that under spoiler number 2.
If one of my posts offended anyone I would prefer the offended party to ask if I was really trying to throw shade, BEFORE the "Now i H8 you, you go to,
and you stay!

Thanks for the link.
When you look at the pixelcount (480*854) this should be better than the jpopsuki upload (368*720)
but when comparing the videos it is obvious that this rip from Yin Yue Tai has been recompressed one time too many - less detail/ muddy colours.
The DYLM upload on YT is worse - it looks like one of life's TRUE ABOMINATIONS; the 240p videos on Avexchannell....
(... and who, in this day and age, can be horrified by the idea of a meal without animals, dead or alive??)

At first I thought that it was not necessary to download official videos - until I found out that they were not as permanent as the ones stored on my local disk.... The nets are fine for convenience, but is not really usable if you have to be sure that the content you are linking to are the same as when you made the link.
This is a general comment... actually YG is one of the nicer uploaders, and it seems like the compagny respect the artists (But I would still like some production notes in their videos)
(And my introduction to KPop, and especially 2NE1, came from a suggested YT video...)

^ I get that that is the theory. That they'll get exposure and media attention. But a lot of acts have been opening acts and nothing has changed for them.
Hatsune Miku already had her time as Lady Gaga opening act and it had almost non-existent media attention.
I hope I'm wrong and that touring with Gaga actually helps them, but I doubt it. It might just be that I'm pessimistic
You speak the truth - but it is really all about the spin, or rather: do a journalist/writer feel that s/he can be original by writing on the subject...
To most civilians Miku is an unknown, but for the rest of us vocaloids are old news, something that will be obvious to any journalist - and therefore there is no motive to do a writeup on Miku.
But for BM things are different - even the most cursive look at the trend curves will show how Babymetal still are in the lower part of an exponential rise in attention - And as such they are ripe fodder for any journo who wants to appear "hip" and "young"
Rude but true: If you are working in mainstream media (=anything with an eye for profit or reader counts) you will have to chase the trends that your readers want to read about.
And in comparison:
The definition of hip: never (ever) be the least interested in whats trendy,
ONLY listen to, and write about, the music You believe in, however corny, unfashionable or downright wrong it is deemed to be!
Thus making any true hipster unemployable in the media business.....
The secret here is to be an obvious poser; that way you are not a threat to your boss...

As long as their also having solo concerts on the US and give the fans an opportunity to see them without having to see Lady Gaga it's OK.
But yes to me Lady Gaga seems like a bit of a try hard having Hatsune Miku, Crayon Pop and now BABYMETAL as opening acts. And I think the benefits they'll get from that are kind of a myth, specially when the music has nothing to do with Gaga's.
The important exposure here is the media exposure, and at a Lady Gaga tour there will be media representatives who are not shocked by "strange" acts.
With a little luck this will give them more qualified write-ups than before, so more non-fans get the chance to see that they are MUCH MORE than a novelty act
(BM and their team are dedicated to expand their musical universe, so they should be able to deliver quality material long after "kawai metal" has become a stable genre... this genre has the potential to reach everywhere young musicians live and work, just like garage and grunge)

Just as it should be....
I have always worked with organization of knowledge, and don't want to take work home - so my collection is a mess...
Untill the beginning of the AON tour I just dumped videos in the KPop video folder (and the pictures in KPop/2NE1, except for the 500 selected in the BomWorship folder...) but all AON material (Videos/ Pictures/ Texts) are in the AON folder (1100 files)
I think a have to construct a database to index the material;
this year I have tagged:
667 downloads with 2NE1, 629 with CL, 598 with Bom, 362 with Dara and 225 with Minzy (no duplicates) and a few hundred untagged...
(The Kpop and 2NE1 collection began in jan. 2012, and back then I downloaded more...)
(I try hard to keep the numbers down, and only download material that is Good (technical/artistic quality) or Informative)

You can bookmark the thread in your browser, and update the bookmark when you leave the thread - that way your oh!-2NE1 bookmark will always take you to the page where you were last time....

There were some people who were upset by this part. How she phrased it made it sound like gay men aren't the same as straight men, that they were in this "other" category, that doesn't make anyone "too sensitive" just because they found offense in it. I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it or she phrased it wrong, but it wasn't a good look at all for her.
But for a hetero girl a homo man are NOT the same as a "straight": Not only will he probably act different than a man who have a sexual interest in her, but knowing it she will be able to relax from the more or less conscious sexual/gendered behaviour we all engage in when in compagny of the opposite sex (or the same, if...)
I do not think that she made any mistakes, or should have phrased her response different - after all we want to hear her honest voice in interviews, and in this one she simply expressed that being with gay friends gave her an opportunity to relax from the sexualised stare of "straight" society.
To me that sounds like a good reason to enjoy the compagny of gays...

So much activity and too little time..
My beard is getting greyer over the prices of the Japanese CD's - nearly USD 60,- (freight included) for a CD/DVD box is

Guess I gotta do what I gotta do - namely stealing them off the internets, but that is getting progressively harder as my love grows....
- and for only the third time in my life I met someone who was aware of KPop (Wondergirls, Big Bang and Taeyang) On an administration course there were some very young mothers (in their early 30'es) that I couldn't resist asking. They answered that it was their involvement in sports dancing that did the trick. So maybe it is in dancing circles I can find someone (in Denmark) to share my interest with.
Also: a woman in her early 20'es knew (and disliked) Babymetal.... (probably because she sings in a heavy/hard band!
)As hard as I try I CAN NOT understand the colourmix and cut of the Gotta Be You MV... I really cannot show this to anyone outside the fandom without risking ridicule.
A good thing that we have the Inkigayo performance.... and new japanese MV's to look forward to; I truly expect the Crush MV to be the new standard in max swag. This song calls for a powerful video!

I just found the fact that they stayed there for the whole day scary. Like don't you get tired? And I thought people hung out in front of concert venues waiting to get in...
I have spent more time in front of animals nests, and for some reason that is considered more respectable.... at least those girls had human interaction, which, in the long run, gives them more social skills than I learn from my spiders....
Pholcus Phalangioides have taught me one thing though: "You have to appease unnie or you are lunch"
(that is: younger males have to feed the older females to avoid being ambushed and eaten - mature males get to mate... if they remember bringing their food support to the unnies (matriarchs), Elder males die of exhaustion...)

Hella scary that they decided to stay all day long. Shit like that seriously isn't healthy.

they are not stalking. YG's building is a workpace for famous persons, so hanging out in front of it is not stranger than hanging out in front of a concert venue, or a theatre. (But fans should not stand in front of the stars private homes...)
As for the time wasting aspect; They appearently had constructive interactions with other fans, so it is not like they didn't learn anything.....
