  1. In the much more frivolous end of fandom we find Babymetal porn (But not here, just the thought is obnoxious!)

.....but if you have a frivolous sense of humour you will find this somewhat hilarious:

WARNING: Nudity and deranged humour under link - open at your own risk!
     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDI3jTbfrXo

NB: @perilous IF this is too much I will delete it! (But I laughed...)

An effects laden video for the stoners (and this user has more)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ6bspFOOv0

  2. You can still vote for Babymetal in Loudwires Best of Summer 2014 poll.

Right now Babymetal has got 44,57% of the votes, and the poll is open untill september 7.

    http://loudwire.com/best-of-summer-2014-vote/

And it is not just a meaningless excercise:

"[...]this case is different: This is a competition between a group of ordinary bands and an idol band. As we can see from the results so far there is really no competition. By voting (and surpassing 50% - a neat round number that the press can understand) we are proving the power of idol. And that will strengthen Amuse, Inc's position on the western market, and give them more resources to market our favorite metal band. So go vote!" (Ego quote from reddit)

  3. Winner's self-reacting lightsticks are so cool! Hopefully 2ne1 gets one too.

Sri, but what is a self-reacting lightstick?

BTW I think that you all should be more angry that something that you bought (on itunes) was recalled and exchanged without your knowledge... I would have been angry if some unscrupolous salesman did that to me!

It does serve as a reminder that anything fetched from the cloud is suspect - and that anything you want to keep (your K-Pop collection!) should always be copied to an off-line back-up.

  4. Another speed-drawing from Lutjehart, this time its:

Babymetal, Drawing Yui Mizuno. (Song: Yui-metal singing Headbanger)

BTW Babymetal are not kids anymore... old enough for the Rock'n Roll lifestyle:

    21eueyb.jpg

(its dangerous to meet all those longhaired dudes!

    :derp:

EDIT 2: Babymetal is leading with 42,9% of the votes; go make it 50%! http://loudwire.com/best-of-summer-2014-vote/

EDIT 3: Today Rolling Stone Magazine has a good interview with Marty Friedman. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/life-after-deth-how-megadeths-marty-friedman-became-a-japanese-superstar-20140819

Read it! Not just for the Babymetal comments, but for an intellectual guitar hero's take on japanese idols (In short: he loves the musical complexity of idol-pop.

After reading watch the embedded Momoiro Clover Z video: Mugen No Ai (its heavier than it looks; the Moeretsu Pirates story is righteous fun; Marty plays the guitar)

After that go looking for Metal Clone X, a japanese/taiwanese heavy band covering Momoiro Clover Z songs! If you are not already aware of the heavyness of Momokuro, they will make it clear...

  5. So this news site, Irish Independence has released an article of 2ne1's concert in Myanmar

    http://www.independent.ie/videos/entertainment/kpop-girl-band-2ne1-perform-in-myanmar-30484057.html

    hear that at 00:30  :hurr:

But appearatly some malware / malignant code is living on that page.... It has now two times crashed my soundcard so hard that I had to restart the PC to get sound.....

    (what happened at 0:30.... applause??)

  6.

Why is this song so underrated? It's still my favourite 2NE1 song. I remember being completely blown away by it when I first discovered the girls.

Bom's bridge/chorus has such a euphoric feel. It sounds like it's from a 90's dance track.

A fantastic dance track with a deeper meaning.... (smilingly singing that when the music is over they can never meet their partner again - while being encased in the stage decoration from "Lonely"; the boxes where we can see them, but they cannot see each other.

When I began to listen to it that way, it came across as a rather dark story about the golden cage of stardom (and to me most of the cast of Roommate looks disturbingly lonesome, so I hope it will continue for some time; it looks like it is good for them)

Woah... :ilove:   I need to find a man who thinks like you! :rlytearpls:

= any man with a normally developed morality...

    I miss 2NE1.

Fortunately that is easy to do something about: just search youtube for 2NE1 videos of the last 24 hours, and new material streams to your computer.

Full satisfaction; nearly for free... :hurr:

  7. I don't think YG should say something. I just think the prosecutors should make a statement.

Anyway, no fans should worry. Even if Bom was perfectly aware of how illegal it was (which is very far from being proven), considering she only used the pills to cure herself and under prescription she has nothing to be charged of.

All the people who brought amphetamines to Korea to cure themselves or other people were relaxed and they were all aware it was an illegal thing.

People are only punished when it's used to get money or to make meth with the pills (and you need a lot of pills that is why they checked how many pills Bom used).  (I don't even understand why it's still banned if they let people off when they use it as a medication. Let people use it freely then !).

Bom may have done something illegal, I will support her. In what kind of country do you have to do something illegal to get cured or get better ?

I swear if my brother, my sister, my mother, my daughter was really sick and needed me to break the law to get her a good medication I'll do it.

It's not a question of law or not, laws change just like people mind. At some time you have to think by yourself and to ask yourself some questions and not just say "law is law".

    Finally a sane voice....

We all read the Segye Ilbo article as soon as it was published, and for anyone with more than four years of school under his/her belt it was obvious from the beginning that this was unadulterated crap, written by an asshole for readers with dung between the ears...

(really.... if anyone had to read the dispatch article before deciding to stop paying attention to Cho Sung-ho (that name, by the way, is autotranslated into "rotten dogshit", so maybe my translator knows something... ) they really are lost in the sea of misinformation we all have to navigate..... woe to them, poor souls)

Unfortunately one dunghead can poison the atmosphere for the rest of us, so I must admit that i tried to escape by burying myself in the (GOOD!!) Babymetal news

  8. A big and warm thank you to perilous for collecting all this great stuff!

With the quality of information here being so high, we might be able to attract more uploaders - the Babymetal tour continues and perilous probably needs a couple of hours of sleep every night..... so lets spread the word that this thread is active and worthwile!

From the fancams one gets the impression that the girls are getting more self-assured for every concert - and thats what they said in one of the mini interviews from Sonisphere: Before Sonisphere they were a little bit scared of the big crowd of european rock-fans.... but after the concert their self-confidence was boosted......

When I think about the amount of experience they have earned in their short carreer, I am sure that they now have a solid foundation in music and showmanship, and should be able to entertain us for years to come.

Lets hope for that, and support them on the way to their true goal: Renewed respect for heavy music (juon) around the world, AND some respect for idols, too.

    Kitsune Salute!

  9. Interesting.... Thanks for bringing shouta-neko's tales from some obviously great fan events!

It seems like a lot of new material are in store for us, and that Babymetal are building up a sizable repertoire - good news.... they will probably be around for some time to come...

    Strange how music have evolved;

I have just watched the remake of Pennebakers Woodstock Diaries (On the Woodstock festival back in 1969 - ask your grandparents :hurr: ) and groovy as that music was, I could not stop wondering what chock it would have been if by magic Su-metal had risen from the stage on her cross (like in Legend Z) and Yui, Moa and the Kami band had appeared in a puff of smoke to give Ijime Dame Zettai like in Loudpark 2013

    2qdquea.png

ahh...daydreams..... but now in 2014 Babymetal will still make an impact: many of the new listeners are from outside the wotadom, and the awesomenes of Babymetal will help show them that idols are WAY more than manufactured throwaway fluff...

  10. Watch the Exihibition video!!!

Also, I guess/hope you have already seen this compilation of Sakura Gakuins festival 2010, including Babymetal...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dad142yTGbc

and the super fan in the upper right corner... actually I don't belive he is an overeager fan... he is probably a staff member, and perhaps imitating an irritating and distracting fan to give them training - just as Amuse arranged a mock concert for the Iine video, making for a great looking MV, and a chance for Our Dark Heroines to see how a rock audience looked from up close.... I think Amuse (Koba? and who IS Koba anyway??) from the very beginning sensed the greatnes of the girls, even in their pre-metallic form.

And somewhere I read that that audience in the MV are all "serious" musicians from the Tower Records stable.

  11. Once upon a time Yui and Moa was nearly overcome by the powers of darknes.

    (Sakura Gakuin, Motteke se-ra-huku, 2010)

The Wader was upon them, and all hope would have been lost, if not the ever alert Fox God
    had mounted his trusty Kitsune-wagon

    2r3dnbc.jpg

and flown through dimensions to guide Our Heroines on the path of Metal Resistance.

Cr: The artist Tim Lewis - here his Kinetic Sculpture "Pony" which is an animatronic interactive piece, exhibited at Kinetica Art Fair (London, 2009) - Pic nicked from this album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/770/sets/72157614568642983

But everyone should really go and see the Kinetica video - the Kitsune-sign throwing Pony is interacting with the audience at 02:20
