I have a lot of things to say about this episode so let's get started.
Noona You're So Pretty: The pink team were cute but honestly the vocals for the green team were just stronger and the overall performance to me seemed a lot more smooth albeit lacking some energy. It's a shame they didn't win. Kim Jaehan did justice to Jonghyun with that raspy voice of his, his high note was really well executed. I feel like this group would have done better had they put the McGree lookalike as the center (Yoo Jinwon), he had stable vocals and the most youthful face of the boys.
Manse: Okay so I was really glad that Woodam got time to shine this episode and eventually ranked quite high (since I mentioned he was one of my favorites from before) BUT, I don't think his team was as good as the second one, tbh. Woo Jinyoung's raps were awesome but I feel like the other three members still needed a bit more energy on stage. Taedong I'm glad improved and isn't as awkward anymore on stage, though.
The other team with the blue outfits had their own DK! Chanwool is his name, he really had a similar aura tbh. Yongjin was such an adorable muffin, plus he was singing so well! Most of this group were rappers and in F rank but they nailed it. I'm still sad they had so little screentime throughout the show... what can you do.
Sorry Sorry: I really really felt for the other team but it was clear that Ong's team had a better feel for the concept. Still loving Kwon Hyub's voice and hoping he gets more popular. Despite the love for Woodam's vocals, Jaehwan was the highlight for me in the vocals department. Eargasm tbh! And his overall performance charisma was really refreshing to see, definitely has improved!
Yonggeun... poor guy had so little votes, I wanted to hug him. I think the group could have done better if they let the CUBE trainee be the center instead of Kwonhyub. He seemed to give off a more playful vibe that the song has. Dongha was okay but I think Kwonhyub would have better suited for a high note. Dongha just seemed too calm for that energetic of a song.
Shock: Dohyun was such a great leader! I hope he goes up in the rankings, he's a strong rapper and has leadership skills. Also he got rid of that ugly blonde hair and is rocking the grey-blue. Dongmyung nailed his lines to a T! I loved his soulful singing.
24.5 had me shoocked. Okay but seriously wow, what a performance. Dongsu nailed his rap despite being a vocalist. Woohyuk executed his rap really well. Lee Giwon and especially Jo Jinhyung delivered some awesome long high notes. And then we have deep toned Yoo Kyungmok... I didn't think I'd actually have a favorite I'd find more attractive than Jihoon but here we go... holy shit does the guy have an amazing voice and acting (and face). He had me shocked all right. Apparently he's an ex-BTL member & ex-BoM member (Song Mino's group). He's the oldest debuted idol on P101! He debuted in 2011 ya'll... he needs his big break.
They totally deserved their win.
Be Mine: The injustice of it all! I'm sorry but the second team was just a lot better imo. They even had their own Woohyun (Hwiseung) who slayed them vocals. He's under FNC so he should be okay but his teammates also did really well, namely rappers Jaewoo and Yehyun (despite being injured).
Nobody really stood out from the other team for me.
Boy In Luv: Okay so here comes the controversy... before I get into anything I'll just say that both teams did well.
I just think that the obvious winner was the second team because they had great synergy, better rapping and singing.
Daehwi's team was full of flower boys and while they do have charisma I needed more from the rap and vocal aspect. I love Ha Sungwoon (he reminds me a lot of BTS's Jimin too, ironically), but I felt like his part was a bit too nasally, and the guys in general chanted at a higher key than the song originally is in, which isn't the greatest effect for a song that's supposed to be badass. Euiwoong really surprised me though with his deep voice o.o He was one of the few boys from the team that I think fit the concept. Jihoon still hot though I guess.
Baekho's team though... they killed every aspect of the performance. From the dancing, to the singing to the rap, it all fit together so perfectly and I would have mistaked the group as a veteran group if I didn't know any better. As the judges noted, the group had a fire in their eyes and everything about the stage was really well done. Only thing I'd say is Insoo seemed a bit overwhelmed and nervous, wish he put his more raspy and deep voice to use instead.
Lai Guanlin achieved his dreams of being a swaggy rapper as noted by Cheetah.
Sangbin had the best rap from all the performances, because not only did he write it but it was performed well too. I'm so mad he didn't get more votes!
Kim Yongguk and Lee Gunmin deserve so much better. Gunmin had the epicest high note ever too, WTF AUDIENCE.
Anyway... onto my favorite performances and ranking by skill for this episode.
