  1. Oh please, you can see it in this thread where there are "explanations" about how this was so passé in the west and it only happened decades ago before westerners 'got gud'. The implicit meaning is that only dumb asses still do this and they should stop that and learn from the west (so kpop becomes what they will then complain as bland)
  2. Somin being shot down right at the start and Lee Dahee's unfiltered reactions. Not a bad ep thought slow in some places
  3. Why would the production team replace gary? One of the production problems with RM was the large fixed cast and its odd number. This made it likely that two to three guests were required (three if going for two teams, two if going for three teams, three or five if going for six pairs). With gary leaving, this means it is 5+1 (instead of 6+1, allowing the minimum number of guests becoming more managable especially for two teams (+2 guests, 1 female, 1 male) or pairs (+3/4 guests for 4 or 5 pairs). A reduction in cast also allows more tv time to be spread out amongst everyone including the guests. When a large number of cast/guests are in an ep, the editing is by necessity brutal. You don't do anything memorable enough, you're on the cutting room floor (qv last ep Yura and friends) and with Kwangsoo and YJS's remarkable variety luck, its hard to squeeze past these two on the editing table.
  4. JDM's face when Hyunmin tries to get Kyunghoon's partner to help shows that he immediately knew that his choice was going to be used to trick Jinho. Jinho's main failing in the main game was due to his partner. Other than JDM not being informed that Jinho would go all in (JDM complained he was only told by Jinho's partner after he had selected the number <- absolute lack of communication here by Jinho on hammering in that JDM is a secondary ally and the partner's failure to cooperate with JDM) the other portion wa that if your "all in" is not a large enough number to cover all the opponent's chips plus a small variable value, the chance that they will take the risk becomes much higher. For example, if player 1 had 13 chips and player 2 went "all in" with 8 chips, the chance player 2 follows with 8 chips (leaving 5 if he or she fails) is a lot higher than if player 2 went all in with 12 chips (leaving 1 chip). Because Jinho's partner lost too many chips, his "all in" has a lot less of an intimidation factor which was what the entire strategy was counting on. Not sure if the PD planned for the visibility of the white side of the cards to be part of the game strategy itself but Kyunghoon catching onto it and thus reducing the likely value of half of Jinho's card was a good move. Was supporting Jinho to get through but Kyunghoon getting a number of high back cards allowed him to turn the tables massively even after Jinho had the first large break. His final interview was noteworthy though. It likely encompasses a large reason why people like him
  5. 2 obvious points where luck is evident for Kyunghoon are DM vs Jungmoon. Repeated symbol plus opponent's 2 (?) opened squares were his symbol, meaning he got 3 or 4 squares free. DM vs Junseok. Green 6 plus 2 other 6s. As green is the last in order for one of the rules, he gets an advantage plus by holding to the other 6s until the last round, he is denying Junseok access to them.
  6. The editing on the first part was bad. Some exchanges were skipped so you had no idea why some were in another taxi after a scene change. The attempts by haha and kwangsoo to run for the female guest's cab was funny and the male guest locking the cab after half forcing gary (IIRC) into the cab was also amusing. The first game was so so but i liked how they bypassed the rules complete by simply carrying Jihyo though they did violate the rules by pulling shirts in one game. The food portion would have been boring if it was not for kwang soo's team. Once they got the message on the loser paying, they really tried. The lady proprietor making them eat watermelon plus another one saying how KJK wasn't a singer was funny. At the ginseng chicken portion, you could see kwang soo feeling guilty about choosing a rare food choice (though it was likely he did it to make the show amusing). Then the very stiff face on the actual loser oon having to pay the bill. I hope the PDs reimbused at least part of the cost since that team basically carried the latter half of the show.
  7. Parts of the horror house was funny. YJS and his camera man, Kwangsoo and his camera man were the best in the segment. Haha was scared but he and his camera man got edited out a lot possibly due to his vulgar language as he mentioned. However because there was no real competiveness, the segment was not as good as it could have been. A mix of the zombie horde during SNSD's last ep with the horror atmosphere would be good and might lead to interesting scenes like a camera man sacrificing himself to let the RM member get away or for some pairs, having the camera man be betrayed
  8. Sangmin will support whoever gets him the money for guests winning. If its Jinho, he'll be totally behind him. If its Kyunghoon, then he'll go "give me a K!" and so on. Revenge and whatever doesn't matter.
  9. Get more work experience and you'll understand what i'm saying and why "i hate domineeering leaders", disregarding competence is such a dumb thing to say.
  10. IRL, if you've worked long enough, you'll realise one thing i) totally accomodating and personally incompetent leader = you saying "the project's dead and i'm getting reassigned to uganda? Why??" ii) totally accomdating and personally competent leader = you saying "oh, you're resigning? it was so nice of you to do so much of my work to save the project!" iii) bossy and personally incompetent leader = you saying "not my fault project's dead! I don't want to go to uganda!" iv) bossy and personally competent leader = you saying "project is done? i don't get to go to uganda? Ever had to work with a weak willed "leader" especially with a moron on the team? Try it and come back to say "i hate domineering leaders!". Disclaimer: This is only if you're not the moron on the team because if you are the moron, well, life will be good for you but everyone's going to transfer or resign.
  11. The intro was overly long but i can understand why they had to do it. They needed to show the credentials of the guests in case the younger viewers had no idea who they were. The first game was rather duh but the lunch break was good. YJS's team obviously supporting him was a nice touch while Kwangsoo and Haha doing things even the PD was not aware until the dumplings arrived was nice. The various interactions that included Jihyo were also a nice touch. Fighting between the 2 teams for the other member of Cool was good while the thumb game showed again why Kwangsoo was so suited for variety. Overall the episode was average with the later part and interactions making up for the overly long intro and the "duh for international audiences" first game (might be more interesting for native koreans though)
  12. Think longer term. Kyungran is the last obvious weak player. Dongmin's one of the obvious strong players. If you go for joint win with Junseok or choose to get brownie points with Dongmin, what are the chances Junseok will back you vs Dongmin will back you? Remember, if they get joint win, Dongmin is 100% sure to be targetted because the firing line only has Jinho (BFF) and Hyunmin (helpful young guy). If Jinho wins, those that will not be targetted anyway exits the pool. The targets then becomes Dongmin, Junseok and Kyunghoon. Kyunghoon's increased chance of being picked because he seems to least capable is then balanced by the "heroism" he showed by staying loyal to his team (which Kyungran loves). In any case, even if he is picked, he is facing the weakest opponent in the remaining players. If you look at Kyunghoon, he is not analytically smart but he is cunning, similar to Dongmin in that he predicts other player moves and chooses a move based on that. There is a danger in being chosen and playing a DM since luck always plays a part but the benefit is that he has someone who can help carry him to as close to the end as possible. By avoiding having the most garnets by a mile, he also gets the target off his back and instead becomes someone who is of no threat. Going into the end game, for the next 2 games, there is still a possiblilty of using alliances. I would be surprised if anyone willingly "sacrifices" themselves for their team now all the obvious weak ones are out.
  13. Ep 7 showed Dongmin's weakness. If he cannot identify enemies ASAP and has team members who are swaying, he has a problem because he has no time to do rectification. Kyunghoon prevented that from being a major issue this round by simply volunteering to be last. It was not out of the goodness of his heart though. The 2 obviously weaker ones are Jungmoon and Kyungran. Since he has a reputation of being traitorous, by betting that he will win against one of 2 weak players, he recovers his rep with everyone, gets brownie points with Dongmin and Junseok (regardless of him choosing KR or JM) while minimizing his danger. The 2 major failures this round were i) Jungmoon. The failure in reasoning and forward thinking is remarkable. The fail point was openly betraying Dongmin with Kyunghoon right there plus trying to implement conflicting strategies. If she wanted to avoid last place by staying ahead of Junseok and Kyunghoon, she should have stuck to it. By playing both sides then trying to avoid being the last in the group, she would still be shot Even if Jinho's group won, she would never get a token and would be first place in the shooting line. If Jinho's group failed and Dongmin had the win, she would also still be in the shooting line for being a traitor. Her plan ended up being stipid because whoever won she would be first or second place in the shooting line. ii) Jinho. Tried to get JM to win to make sure that KR won. Failed spectacularly by not realising that JM was not a complete moron and would actually reason out that she would not receive a token and become public enemy number 1. Worse, he hid the reason from KR (at least in the beginning) because he knew KR might get mad at him and could possibly not give him the token if she won. Would not be surprised if KR knew nothing until she could talk openly with Dongmin when the death match started. Those additional hints he did of basically declaring that he was working with Jungmoon was shining a torchlight on the target on her back. It might not do much since the rest was going against her but it was inflammatory. If he won his round without having to ask Dongmin if his card was a 15, then it would seem a lot less arrogant but because he breezed through his win with the help of others, rubbing their faces in the fact that he was stamping on their plans was less than complimentary. The minor fail in this round i) Kyungran. Oblivious to the entire situation. Looking at the part where she was told that DM treated them as enemies and it would be war, she obviously failed to realise what Jinho's tactic of not folding did. Attributing the entire thing to DM betraying their (JH and KR) trust when Jinho was the one who basically declared war with that one action, then failing to remember that both JH and her won their rounds early was because he helped them was less than stunning in performance.
  14. Frankly, everyone was against Junseok's interest in this ep, including Dongmin's team and everyone on his own team. Even yeonseung tossed him aside at the end. This is a microcosm for a life lesson of why even if you have the brains, train up your EQ and vice versa. As for Dongmin, note what their conversation. He never promises anything other than her not being the sole loser. Jungmoon did not ask for anything other than that as well. Did no one wonder why Junseok was ok with the end goal of being joint losers with yeonseung and jungmoon, to the point of fufilling his promise to Jungmoon from the previous round and doing whatever Dongmin said? (note this is a hint on his thinking on what he expected at the end)
  15. As the end showed, the games are to provide hints to let the players guess which side they are on. If you choose the wrong side, you get nothing (whatever they won this ep, which from previous eps, is likely some sort of cash bonus) if that side wins, even if you helped that side as what JSJ did.
  16. I suspected since ep 3, Kyunghoon's ep 3 actions were deliberate though i still cannot figure out how he was going to dissuade Sangmin from choosing him in the DM. This ep pretty much confirms it as his acting is the same as the episodes when he basically backstabbed Sangmin. The entire spiel about revenge for Junseok killing Sangmin doesn't hold water when the actual one to set the stage for Sangmin to be eliminated was he himself Jinho, Hyunmin, Kyungran was portrayed to be along for the ride though Jinho was shown to be discussing strategy with Dongmin so off camera, i doubt Hyunmin and Jinho did not add input to the overall plan but the did not get much tv time this ep. Dongmin basically controlled everything at the start while Kyunghoon showed he's cunning when he deduced that Dongmin had put in a second spy then used that to make sure he was safe himself. Junseok was played out by Kyunghoon and Dongmin while Jungmoon was almost played out by Junseok who finally gave her the garnet promised in the previous round after pressure from Kyunghoon and Dongmin. Their actions were aimed directly at him to get last place (joint or not) since Dongmin was already aiming at Junseok from the start. Yeonseung seemingly acted like an idiot who followed blindly before ditching the other 2 to try and avoid being joint last. Before he did that, i wondered why he was so compliant when it was obvious Dongmin and friends would not help his team for no reason (Yeonseung was promised the immunity badge by Kyunghoon which Junseok then promised Dongmin). That showed he was not an empty headed follower. Dongmin's has been consistently portraying himself as someone who holds to promises and because he has shown he does that exactly, people go along with him even players like kyunghoon. Junseok's the opposite by portraying himself as always out for himself only, no one really trusts him when shit hits the fan. Yeonseung threw his plan back in his face, Jungmoon badgered him, believing he had no intention of honoring his promise while Kyunghoon left him in the dust. Dongmin and Junseok are similar in the head but EQ wise, he's left in the dust Jungmoon's been too much a follower this season, agreeing with what is said and not adding much and though she follows instructions in a team game, she needs to be more active in planning. If she can make it that far, once the numbers drop to 5, she'll find it hard to find anyone to ally with and the game doesn't reward second place.
  17. The first game in this week's ep was hilarious with all of them cheating so balantly. There was no one who could be labelled a bully because everyone cheated and strength and size did nothing to prevent people from pushing you off the tricycle. One highlight was the part where they pulled each other at the start line with only Gary seeming to try to do the game normally. That the game was against all the beefy guys because of the tricycle's size was a good thing because the 2 males guests looked like they could overpower several of the RM cast. The first portion of the second game was also funny because everyone cheated at the same time except for the Yoonjo and were climbing over each other to reach the flag. They should have gone with a crawling game for the other rounds too because there was excitement in seeing everyone pulling out all the stops to get the flag and physically weaker ones like JSJ and Jihyo were not the last ones to get the flag since there was an element of luck involved. The third game was fun for the first 2 tries but then became repetitive. They should have sent in 5 people in a group so each could then use the others to shield themselves and wouldn't feel overly repetitive. Kwang soo again using dirty tactics, from getting Yoonjo in trouble and then using the table and finally getting her items cancelled was funny. The last game's location had potential since it was dark (making hiding a possibility like what JSJ tried to do), large (so there was a lot of distance for running and catching) and obstacles (to make it good for hiding) though VJs and camera lighting would negate a lot of the advantages. Despite the potential, the final game wasn't as exciting as it could have been but that's a problem of not having a script and can't be helped.

  19. (+99) Jang Dongmin - very impressed at how he analysed and kept tabs on everyone especially Jungmoon which did not seem like a rebel at all until he confronted her. Head and shoulders above everyone else. He pretty much led everyone to victory singlehandedly. (+2) Jinho - (+2) First to get everyone to stay together which was critical and (+1) pointed out how the rebel could lie to win but (-1) easily convinced by Kyungran. (+2) Junseok - (+1) Set up a trap for the rebels by suggesting a variance of 5 was the max (good plan if Dongmin was absent or a rebel). (+1) Also first to try and convince a rebel to surrender. (+1) Suggested pi as the number basis but that could be just luck. (-1) Made many strange suggestions including releasing the known rebels and using rock paper scissors to choose the king (+1) Kim Kyunghoon - (0) first 3 choices were random guesses of which 2 were wrong. (+1) Caught Yoohyun writing rubbish and highlighted him (+1) Choi Jungmoon - (+1) acted like a total loyalist except for 1 sentence. Last rebel to be caught. (+0) Oh Hyunmin - did not do anything significant to aid or hinder his team (-1) Kim Kyungran - (-1) caught by Dongmin though (+1) it may be Dongmin as the main factor rather than bad acting. Was the first factor that shook the rebels. (-1) Too passive once in jail. If she managed to get out sooner, the game would have changed but she would need to cross Dongmin's eagle eye. (-1) Choi Yeonseung - did not do anything significant to aid or hinder but did act suspiciously (-1) which would have covered rebel actions in a normal game (-3) Kim Yoohyun - (-1) Bad strategy of writing reptitively instead of rubbish comments like how the others are rebels. (-1) Panicked when caught. (-1) Too impatient and killed any chance of the rebels winning for insignificant gain (getting the next number to 3 digits) though at that time, rebels winning was a minor chance due to kyungran being caught. Still reduced any chance of a rebels comeback to almost 0.
  20. On onehallyu (and on the internet in general), using a thumbs down while not challenging any points in the post is relatively common. Of the 3 reasons, you stated, 2 is reasonable and as i already mentioned, the third is not. The language barrier reason is already under "not good in english" which is acceptable. A troll cannot handle facts or logic either. If you are factually or logically correct, trolls have no place to hide. This is the reason why trolls talk in short sentences because every extra word is one that can be used to hang them
  21. The last reason is incorrect. If you cannot refute something, that means you lost the argument. That cannot be denied. You may feel morally aggreived, angered, unhappy or what not but when you are shown something you cannot challenge factually or logically, you are factually or logically wrong. Disagreeing with something you are factually or logically wrong on is the basis of self delusion. As for the bullying and bandwagoning, i note the number of downvotes on the guy being attacked, They are the same in number and consistent across multiple posts. Basically this is telling the guy he is not wanted here and for him to get out. How is that not several ganging up to intimidate one person?
  22. Really? It sounded more like you were trying to make fun of the other guy because drawing circles and what not are all primitive styles of calculating pi
  23. You can do it faster but good luck if you're not into maths https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chudnovsky_algorithm Not necessary, see above
