  1. I'm so jealous she gets to go to Jamsil but honestly this was basically me and my mom letting me go to the BTS concert. The concert was on a school day and since it was out of state, I had to skip school because it took a while to get there the way I did. Also, some parental figure usually has to go with me for these things because I'm underage and all that. My mom usually isn't that comfortable with me skipping school days, but I spent a little time persuading my mom with multiple reasons ("I have good grades so I won't get affected that much", "this might be the only time I'll see them", etc.) and planning what I would pay for and what would our means of transportation would be and all of that. After talking about it for a little, my mom not only paid for both of our tickets, but she paid for my lightsticks, transportation, and hotel on our trip. We went together and she called me in "sick" from school. She also really liked the concert and became a lowkey ARMY, so now she's a lot more inclined to let me go to more concerts out of state, so long that my grades are good and my absences aren't a ton. She did say that if my grades weren't so good then she wouldn't have let me gone on the trip. So tl;dr: There are parents who let you go on these easily, but others who don't. BUT if you plan out everything with them or show what you've been thinking and you're through with it, they'll be more inclined to say yes.
  2. Someone put this on the OP: I didn't know about this until a few weeks ago I always thought people just chose their biases and got the most random gif compilation but there's an actual schedule for it
  3. Y'all I really wanna buy a ticket to Exordium in NY because there are still a shit ton of seats left and this is finally a chance to see EXO, but how do I get around the fact that it's on a Tuesday after my Spring break Also how do I persuade my mom to let me go? She's willing to take me (and has taken me) to many of my kpop events and buys my passes for conventions and stuff so getting the general permission to go is fine; it's just that she thinks EXO is fake as hell for some reason and doesn't want to see "fake girl-men" so she won't take me for that reason alone. Why does EXO choose their weirdest times for some of their US concerts though like a Tuesday of all days
  4. I hope they hit Europe. I'd be a proud mama seeing them perform in Wembley Arena Also I feel like the European ARMYs will go to BigHit's building with pitchforks if they don't do European dates lol topped. happy V day! fansign tae is cute tae
  5. I remember one of my other bias groups having to juggle their awards shows with their US tour in last year's February. They flew to I think Dallas for the concert, flew back to Korea right after for the Gaon Chart Awards, and then flew back for another date in the US. That's a good 30 hours of flying in 3 days. They never adjusted to the jetlag and it was awful man. I don't want BTS to have that kind of schedule, so I hope that they don't juggle touring with year-end shows
  6. Time for a long sob post. It's about to get messy here Happy 5th Anniversary EXO! To be perfectly honest, I've been a pretty bad fan lately. I've been getting busy with real life: school, sports, colleges, growing up, all that young adult coming of age stuff. Not only that, but I also became super duper multifandom and haven't really been catching up with EXO or talking to other EXO-L for a while asides from a few convos here on OH, or my posts on Twitter, mainly because the other group I'm a fan of is pretty darn active right now. So I've been a bit distant from EXO despite catching up with the new releases and news on a daily basis. But honestly, despite my recent unloyalty, EXO's my ride or die; without EXO, I won't be able to see Kpop the same way. EXO's the reason I got into K-Pop. EXO's changed, absolutely just revolutionized my music tastes, my world views, my standards, my personality and mindset. If it weren't for them, I think I would still been that ignorant ass middle scholar I was before discovering EXO; the one weeb who refused to consume non-Japanese content and thought everything was bland and generic, and my social skills would've been even lower than they are now. Bit after seeing how kind and passionate the members were and how good the music was, I couldn't help but fall in love instantly the day I saw my first EXO MV back in 2014. I was able to find new friends. I became more aware of the world around me because I was actually becoming a fan of real people and not animations. (I still love anime tho don't get me wrong). Believe it or not, but I think I became a better person through stanning EXO. EXO is such a strong and raw group guys. Even when hate is thrown at them on a constant basis and they went through some tough moments (2014, for example), they're still standing strong and making quality music. They've been able to bond and love each other unconditionally and it's beautiful. I honestly wouldn't be here anymore if they were trying to act fake. They trust us, and so we trust them, and this artist-fan relationship we have with them is beautiful. And the members themselves are the absolute sweetest and most genuine people I've ever laid my eyes on. They've helped me through tough times too. I suffer with some pretty darn bad social anxiety and I get easily influenced, meaning that I can get sad by anything really easily. Trying to face impeding adulthood in the face is also pretty hard. I'll think about it deeply, maybe let out a good cry once in a while about it. But y'know, EXO helped me get through these times. Whether I would watch their variety shows, scream over music show performances, listen to their albums walking home, these things helped me relieve so much stress and kind of just forget everything. So TL;DR, EXO has done so much for me and they're so strong and talented and genuine and I want to cry really hard rn But to wrap it all up, EXO: I give well wishes for your 5th year and many more years to come my loves. Even if adulthood comes and I move on, I don't think EXO will ever truly leave me, and I'm glad about that if I can have nine shining stars in my mind; shining stars that the whole world looked up to. So really guys, thank you so, so much.
  7. Jesus it's been ages since I've been on the EXO thread. Right on time for the 5th Anniversary I guess??? But HEY I've been following their activities on the other EXO-related threads here + stalk their Twitter tag everyday now so I know what's going on okay Anyway who's hyped (to cry) about EXO's 5th year since debut
  8. I see why this interview was hyped. It's definitely one of their best US interviews because: 1.) It talks about their careers as artists and changed it up slightly from the typical questions we've been getting in other sites 2.) They finally got a translator for them!!!!!! Now the members can actually say their thoughts in a language they're comfortable (and especially fluent) in and have them conveyed without Rapmon being burdened to translate. 3.) It gave us a few new insights on the members and their dynamic. It's also great for newer fans who want to know the inspiration behind their works. I also really like how they got hold of Bang PD-nim and allowed him to give insight on BTS' current success. It's nice to see his perspective on this rampage BTS has caused (like popularity and such, not a bad rampage at all). I'm also glad he's keeping a level head on the whole US debut situation because he views a US debut the exact way I view one. The only downside is that even with a translator, Rapmon spoke much more than everyone else, but I guess that's expected when they're in the US, a completely English-speaking country.
  9. On the bright side y'all helped me remember how much of a bop fushizen na girl is
  10. fuck you eshe you tricked me I thought it was the Perfume thread and was completely ready to scream about my kweens
  11. Watching these fancams is making me have the most severe PCD I should probably stop before I go cry forever JUNGKOOK FELL ASLEEP AT THE TABLE THAT'S SO CUTE but at the same time I hope they're getting sufficient rest I guess that's kinda impossible with how shitty is is adjusting form Korea's timezone to America's, especially when America has multiple timezones in one country (I've had the firsthand experience and it was awful ) It looks so uniform and pretty and-
  12. He seemed emotional at every single concert so far. When I watched him perform MAMA at Newark, he looked about ready to cry This actually applies to all members now that I think about it
  13. So I was on Twitter and just read about the encore concerts in Jamsil Stadium and all I have to say is that they're LEGENDS Fuck the people who don't call them legends bc tHEY ARE Also this is a great way to celebrate their 5th anniversary Sadly I can't go to any of the concerts on this tour
  14. MTE, but I dunno when that's gonna happen because it seems that in 99% of international interviews they never get a translator
  15. I hate to throw the name around (especially when y'all like the 90s boyands and the J-14 magazine thing is already starting to cause a mess on Twitter) but (also expect a Newark concert fanaccount from me sometime this weekend too Life just got in the way right when I came back home so I couldn't do it earlier ) Also OH isn't letting me quote rn, but whoever posted that Shrek edit is either a blessed person or a sinner because that was easily the best and worst thing I've seen in my life
  16. I'm not even gonna dare watch the interview tbh, I can't stand cringe I'm still rooting for BTS to cuddle with puppies on Buzzfeed tho man
  17. Believe it or not, I thought you were the star of the show And I bought your fan from the merch booth too
  18. Guys Guyssssss I'm absolutely dead but that concert was amazing oh my god Best concert ever, 10/10, would DEFINITELY recommend. (also my mom loves Fire and Jungkook now. I think I turned her into an ARMY)
  19. I'm currently at my hotel resting up before the concert tonight. I'm thinking about coming to Prudential at 6 or 6:30 because the hotel I'm at is only a 6 min walk and I'm seated. Is this a good choice on my part or should I come earlier? Also I am v e r y h y p e d. Also, I was just in the merch line not too long ago, and it was actual hell. The line was so long it had to be split up by putting half of the line across the street. Luckily, I got one of the last Jungkook pickets and two ARMY Bombs, but the program book I wanted was sold out
  20. Buzzfeed can get kinda cringey and ridiculous, but yeah I agree, this is just the type of environment BTS needs for them to feel comfortable. They're so awkward during formal interviews, so a place where they can go a little crazier is pretty much their natural habitat. Though even then, they still might be a little more reserved than usual because this is an international media outlet. Even in Japan, a foreign country they're probably the most familiar with, they're still shy on livestreams and TV shows because their Japanese is not completely proficient yet.
  21. tbh, asides from the Try Guys K-Pop series, the way Buzzfeed handles K-Pop is not that cringey. I've seen F(*) Am*er's interview, the Try Guys K-Pop reaction (the only video in the series that isn't completely cringe), and the G*T7 fan surprise one, and I think the name pronouncing one? Okay sure, I may have cringed a little at name pronounciation, but that's because I cringe at wrong pronunciation of anything in general. Asides from that, those videos weren't bad at all. As a matter of fact, I can definitely say that I enjoyed them somewhat (especially the first one). Also if they bring in the puppies or kittens then it's already gonna be good I'm glad they're going on Buzzfeed tbh. This would make good exposure. Oh look I topped. Alright, someone share my excitement with me because I'M GOING TO NY FOR THE CONCERT TOMORROW AND I WANT TO S C R E A M
  22. I used to be enthusiastic about this, but now that I saw BTS' recent interviews in the US, I feel like it's not worth it if it's gonna be Namjoon carrying the whole team around. I get that he's the only one with fluent English, but the rest of the members just aren't getting enough spotlight, even for a foreign media outlet. Also as a casual fan of Ellen, I know that she has translators sitting next to her foreign guests when they come on the show, but even then it's a little awkward because she clicks with anyone that knows her language more than anyone else. I know this applies to many people, but it applies even more so for Ellen to the point where she seems disinterested in the guest sometimes. Idk if the same's gonna happen to BTS, but if only 1 out of 7 know English, I get the feeling that we will feel the distance immensely.
  23. I was about to ask if this was the "super secret show" but then I realized that iHeartRadio's asking for questions too so now idk (I still asked about pineapple on pizza if you're wondering) I feel ripped off I get that this is a tour, but who the hell charges $80 for a hoodie and $60 for a lightstick AND $40 FOR A BEANIE
