OP for OTP badges?
Yes.
It's not confirmed, but it's a possibility if no one else wants to. Also depends on the demand for changing any of them and whether we should just do a megathread or individual OTP threads.
-
Ey, so, it's Awards Season now! And I'm just wondering if
1.) OTP badges are in demand for change at all
and
2.) If anyone's running the OP for that yet? If not, I'm willing to run it (last time I did I was a mess so hopefully I'll have improved my organizational skills by now

Well I haven't been here in a while but hi!
I'm just trying to look for a fanart rn. It was a small comic-ish strip of Mang and Namjoon, and Namjoon was like "it's okay you can let it out", and then in the end, it's Jhope crying in Namjoon's arms.
I know it was posted on here, which is why I'm trying to look for it. So do any of y'all know where the fanart went?
-
Just got taken today
-
I think they will count it,otherwise this would be so absurd.
I figured.
I was just asking because I was ordering albums from another group on the same website and a fan told me that they wouldn't count if I bought other things along with the album. Just wasn't sure is all. I don't want to spend $50 and have none of it accounted for.
-
I have a question about buying the album?
So I want to order the album from Kpopmart, along with a few things from Etude House. Do you think they'll still count my album into Hanteo ad Gaon, even if I purchased other things with it?

I still can't believe EXO aligned their comeback with a natural event I LOVE WORLD KINGS

So hi.
I've been lurking all my bias group MTs for a while so I haven't posted in a while (sucked in by Twitter +
let's admit it OH has been a mess lately)I'm Sitapa for all the new users, and I used to be active when I first joined 3 years ago, but don't expect me here often now tbh.
Nice to meet y'all though~<3

Anyway, just wanted to pop in to celebrate EXO'S QUADRUPLE MILLION SELLER RECORD!!! (w/o a repack too!)

So.
Hi.
I've been lurking this thread (and tbh most threads) for a long ass time, but with the comeback in the horizon I couldn't help but post here. To the new users, I'm Sitapa, and don't expect me here often lol.

Anyways I ' M S O C O N F U S E D A B O U T E V E R Y T H I N G
So much things to consume, and should we expect stuff to drop tomorrow too?
What I'm glad about is that they started dropping concept photos right on my birthday though~ It was a great gift (along with my E*O album coming in the mail right before dinner)
Also tbh
Sometimes I think that their HYYH storyline concept is getting lowkey milked, but at the same time, they're incorporating it in such clever ways I really don't mind at all. Also each arc loosely connects to youth, but then also has a new underlying theme that makes it feel different. Also if people really don't like the youth concept then 1.) Why are they stanning BTS and 2.) There are other songs that have nothing to do with HYYH too so they can go listen to those.
The concept of youth is still there, but there's also another theme to go with each comeback and it makes it feel unique in the story.

I honestly might want to join Reddit just to reply to this. Also the Reddit BTS community has always seemed so nice
(and actually sane)In reply to this:
I would say that joining fandom did help me mature a little since most of my friends into K-pop are older than me. I'm also a lot louder and outspoken about things in real life after being so outspoken online. However, as some of the comments in there say, not only ARMY culture or Kpop culture, but fandom culture in general does suck you away from reality to a certain degree. It's also quite draining when you're deep into fandom and you know all the bullshit that goes on.
A simple music video or listening to a release or waiting for upcoming news has distracted me more than a few times from my homework, and really, that's just me getting easily distracted by my surroundings. My real concern in the past were the times where I really wouldn't want to hang out with friends or go to work just because I wanted to catch up with BTS or E*O news. Even when I was at camp for two weeks with no technology whatsoever, I had the smallest worry about missing E*O's comeback when I really should've been worrying about what food to pack for my backpacking trip that time. Fortunately, K-pop didn't interfere with my experience at all, and it barely came to my mind for the most part, save for when I met a younger camper who was a bigger K-pop fan than I am, and also those few comeback thoughts.
Obsession is also a problem. Probably the biggest problem with fans nowadays tbh. I'm generally a very socially anxious and pretty shy person, so my instinct is usually to avoid people I've either never met or gotten into some shit with. To keep my mind off of it, I would often watch a music show fancam or a funny moment compilation, or keep up with Kpop news. With the way K-pop is structured, liking BTS and other groups was a way for me to care for someone without actually having to communicate with them. One-sided love I guess, but at least you don't know them personally so you can keep yourself in fantasy. As a result though, it lowkey turned into obsession. Kpop pretty much became a lifeline; if you cut it, I would practically die without it. It helped me cope with my anxiety, but in the sense that I was able to push it aside rather than actually fix it. It took real life experiences to truly start improving it. Once I got obsessed, I didn't want to do anything with anyone for a while; I just wanted to have an everyday date with me and the computer watching fancams and MVs. I did eventually realize that this was harming friendships and making my grades plummet a little more than desired, however, so I pulled back and now I'm decently sane.
Fandom is fuel for obsession, and there's just such a fine line between the two because it's so easy to cross over. How easy is it to come back though? Not very.
Right now, I'm a lot calmer, but still silently obsessed to an extent: Bought Bon Voyage not too long ago despite it being a bit of a rip-off; Buying that one album to support my faves; Always watching the music videos and listening to their music; Keeping up with news on Twitter. The difference is, is that I don't care for views or voting. I don't care about records in the sense that I feel the need to brag, and the only reason I care about sales is to see how much the group has grown physically and digitally and I get happy seeing them do well. I want them to do well for their sake, and in the end, the record is really just a number. The problem with Kpop these days is that the fandoms are slowly shifting their focus away from the music and more towards records, antis, and appearances. Sad to say, but I can say that on Twitter I was obsessed with antis for some time until I realized that they were making me a whole lot worse as a person, and my self-control was slowly dwindling away when it came to fighting back. Sometimes I still come back to them and fight a little, but at least I try not to have a baseless reply. Most of these arguments were about false rumors and people getting butthurt over broken records. It drove me nuts, and I was angry all the time. Very harmful for my mental health tbh.
I love BTS for the music, the members' personalities, their genuine-ness, and the nice part of the fandom. I like making friends with fellow ARMY. And I used to care about numbers, but really, these days, I'm just trying to be happy supporting my favorite artists, and with the direction the Kpop fandom is taking, I'd rather not make such a big fuss out of records anymore. Of course I'll still congratulate, but I won't bother to do anything more.
Fandom is fun! It's supposed to be fun, but not when you let it take over your whole life in an obsessive manner, because there are days where you need to come back to ground zero, and you can't stay in the dream forever.
TL;DR because I was probably rambling: Fandom is fun and can improve certain aspects on mental health, but in the record-focused direction the Kpop fandom is taking + obsession + negativity form antis, fandom can be tiring, a potentially harmful distraction from reality depending on how deep you're into it, and drive you a little mad from the constant arguments. This is pretty much what happened to me.

PSA to y'all but order from KpopMart if you don't know where to buy your album from because
1.) Albums are at reasonable price
2.) Shipping's at reasonable price for what each method is worth
3.) They count in Hanteo and Gaon
4.) Their customer service is pretty darn great
5.) Shipping is within a reasonable timeframe, sometimes even quicker.
I actually bought the wrong version today (I wanted Private Ver. but I accidentally got A) + forgot to add the poster to it, and I contacted costumer service, and they replied within 2 hours and switched my versions + added the poster. I am a very happy camper rn
BTW I'm trying to not listen to Ko Ko bop rn because I hate spoiling title tracks for myself
The B-sides I've heard sound amazing though
