Okay, what have I missed?  Anything important?  Any username changes I should know about?  Meeds, Chanyeolie I see you.   I haven't been on here in ages but I've been more or less keeping tabs on news on Tumblr.  Sorry, airport photos got boring really fast. I really do need a reality show component to stan a group full-time, I guess.    

You know, I almost bought the DVD until I remembered that I actually sort of hated M&M.     (Oh man I have missed these emojis!  I wish I had them on my phone.)  I've seen many gifsets but haven't had time to watch the new cuts in their entirety.  I think IKON Global just uploaded them to DM so I'll watch them this week or something.  The picturebook (or whatever) scans looked F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S though -- I'm a big fan of the 'high school athlete' look they decided to run with.  The styling had a similar feel to the look Double B had in that YG SMTM trailer, and none of the boys appeared overpowered by their styling (which, imho, is what good styling should be).  Yoyo finally decided to be completely photogenic, instead of only occasionally photogenic. ;)  

BTW -- and because this is the only place I can share this fact with -- I did buy a Team B shirt from the YG eBay shop over the holidays, in anticipation that they will run out soon and because, goddammit, I wanted a souvenir before Team B is completely forgotten and subsumed into iKON.  For the curious, the blank is a surprisingly high quality jersey.  The screenprinting could be better quality for the price, but certainly isn't awful or anything.  Sizing makes sense and isn't too "Asian."  Stealth kpop merch successfully acquired.

I like Winner a lot too but LBR only KSY, NamTae, and Mino did those mini solo stages justice. Not to diminish LSH or Crywoo's growth but there's a reason why they were put forward first in that chain of performances.

Given the same set-up, iKON's good solo/meh solo ratio is similar, if not slightly better. Double B and June will bring the house down, Jinhwan will croon convincingly, Dong would probably get a dance or piano-based solo like in the finale (automatically making him > than Jinwoo), and for diversity Yoyo can do another 90's style pop-rock moment. Our own 'Woo can grill some pork on stage as part of a postmodern performance piece.

Jk I'm starting to warm up to Chanwoo, really.

Even if YunDongChan are totally mediocre, Double B and June have enough impact to balance it out.

Edit: I have many, many complaints about M&M but looking back, I have to admit that the show did a good job at showcasing Yunhyeong's personality.  Junhoe's too ofc.  (iKONTV had better do an even better job though - or else  ) You could tell the PDs not only liked both kids but found them entertaining.

Wikipedia article on Osan Air Base says non-servicemen/women "should be prepared to pay upwards of [uSD] $20,000 a year" for their children to attend Osan MS.

So, yes it's hella expensive.  (Edit: Well, I have no idea how much private school costs in SK so not sure how $20K tuition compares.)  Entirely possible that he got a full or partial scholarship, of course.

Jaegirl, Jurious, anyone -- can you please translate the Pann about Dong's old school?  Or at least verify or correct the below:

If I figured it out right, then Donghyuk attended Osan Middle School, which is an American military-run middle school located on-base (Osan Air Base) in Pyeongtaek, south of Seoul.  (However, the OP seems to say the school was located in Yongsan?  Were they talking about another school located on the army base in Yongsan, Seoul?  Or am I confusing something?)  

Anyway, Osan MS is one of the schools set up for the children of US military servicemen/women but it appears Korean nationals can also enroll via "command sponsorship" + tuition.

I am now 99% sure that Ezra Kim is a fluent English speaker.

The only thing I'm going to say about B.I's father's case is that thank god Hanbin has YG.  For all that YG is an asshole, he seems to really believe in and be genuinely fond of that kid.  I hope that YG himself, YG artists, and staff -- who all had a hand in allowing that child to suffer the relentless deathmarch of WIN, SMTM, and M&M -- are there for him now.  They owe him.

BI's father never seemed to be interested in him or show any kind of support during the survival shows  . BI is not accountable for the way his father choose to make money.Of course now,that M&M ended and the fans seems to have calmed down,the rumors start.

You know, we can't assume that kind of thing about B.I's father just because we never saw him on tv.  Lack of proof is not proof itself, etc.  Their private lives are their own and the best thing to do in situations like this is to respect that.

iKON are busy practicing/preparing during this time, out of the public's eye, so the timing isn't the most terrible. It'll probably finish blowing over by the time the boys debut/stand on the stage again. Those who already dislike B.I. / iKON will surely use this news as ammunition, of course, but born haters really shouldn't matter.

BTW re: your question about height, it's widely assumed that June is about 5'11"/180cm.  You can kind of use him as a yardstick to measure everyone else's heights/shoelift game until you land at Jinhwan a few floors down.

Frankly my only take away from M&M was liking Junhoe.

 

He's overtaken Bobby as my bias. Frm what I see in weibo, he's very popular amongst the Chinese fangirls too. He has more stans than Jinhwan that's for sure. It's a feat considering Chinese fangirl call themselves OT6 fans but really only care about Double B.

 

Hope YG gives him the spotlight he deserves.

I find Junhoe's growing popularity extremely satisfying.  I mean really, he is money waiting to be made and they'd be stupid not to capitalize on him in the next 1-2 years.

In the ep9 live stream chat, there was a brief moment where we were trying to guess who had or will have plastic surgery ohohoh. I was talking to my roommate and I'm still not sure if Hanbillion's nose is a product of puberty or the most amazing, subtle PS work ever. Penna also believes that Yoyo got one eyelid done lololol. I bet that when Bobby gets famous h8rs are gonna tell him to do something, but I'm praying that he'll give him the middle finger.gif bc that's part of his charm. Really wouldn't be surprised if Dong got something subtle done.

To be honest, as cute as he is, 90% of what makes him so lovable is his character.  His looks catch your eye (mainly because he looks atypical for a Korean, lbh) but what holds your attention is his personality.  

Also that 3/4 angle is his best angle.  

I feel like being on Running Man must be on Yoyo's bucket list.  Too bad that show is going down the drain.  Hopefully another great race/puzzle/competition variety show arises in the next 1-2 years so he can be on it and earn himself some mad popularity.

I bet solo digital singles will come out rapidly, however. Especially if they pursue this Collaboration Project.
