That was a very interesting watch. The friend couldn't have cared less, like when the host asked the girl if he would be her boyfriend and she said no, he showed absolutely no reaction.

I remember this episode of 'Hello Counselor' that Namsoo was on, he was complaining about his obviously gay friend who was too addicted to makeup.

His part starts at 3:55, and 8:14 & 13:43 are especially interesting - he gets asked if people don't "misunderstand" them, since they live together and his friend likes to apply makeup even on the subway, which attracts attention.

True. None of us are really sure how much he smokes in general, so those cigarettes might be less than normal I know that it wouldn't be something he'd quit in a month. And I don't expect him to quite completely either so I'm not judging him or anything at all. It's extremely difficult to quit something like that, especially since nicotine is the most addictive substance and he's probably around people who smoke a lot of the time and makes it even harder to cure the habit; not to mention the stress. So ending it gradually is something that'd be best for him.

 

It's just quite a lot of cigarettes in one ashtray tho /shrugs/ but it's probably not all his so ^^

Well since it seemed he had set his mind to it I hope he achieves his goal and manages to quit soon~

Maybe he has? Maybe he used to smoke A LOT more but now smokes half less? Unless you're very very strong-willed it's hard to give up an old habit just like that, so I guess he's trying to do it gradually.. At least that's how I would do it if I actually wanted to quit smoking. :x

Jungmin is gay as a spoon. He's maybe a bit like Heechul in the sense that he's probably not going to come out publicly all of a sudden, but he seems like he's more comfortable with himself and open with his friends now that he's not such a well known idol.... Honestly, I didn't like him as much when Double S were active. Now that he's making the music he likes and being even more the fab horse that he is, Idk, I guess I just learned to appreciate him, lol xD;;

I'm gonna say go with your gut on this. People's gaydar is most effective in the split second they first see the person. Everything else is just noise and confusing and lowers accuracy.

 

Also remember that he was contractually obligated to play straight when he was with SM, and he still found ways to make it clear to anyone in the loop that he wasn't interested in women.

I tend to trust my first impressions, and there were times when I changed my mind but my initial impression was actually right. But I can't be categoric when it comes to him, I see him as a very open person in his love & sex life.

I know it's a pretty unpopular opinion and people tend to think he's either straight or gay.. And maybe I'll change my mind, who knows.  

Why now though? What's changed? O.o

Because just seeing him, when I didn't know who he was or even his name, I immediately thought "yeah, this guy is gay". Then I became interested in TVXQ and listened to him talk about his past loves, girls he had a crush on, and he seemed sincere to me. Now I don't know if he was saying the truth or not, maybe he said "girls" but meant "boys". For example I remember this one time on Bigeast Station, he said he had had feelings for two girls at the same time - maybe it was boys, I don't know. But he didn't have to talk about it, yet he did. It's just little details like these that make me think he could indeed fall for a woman, even though I still think he's more into men.

 With his recent song "just another girl" he felt the need to make it clear that this was not his own story, too. The only song explicitly about a woman and he felt compelled to make sure we knew it wasn't from his perspective lol

 

 

You can tell he's not interested in women just by looking at his interactions with women, honestly. It's really obvious that he doesn't see them in a sexual light. Even commenting on a girl's boobs at one of his events in Japan, he just looked amused rather than interested.

 

Well, at the end of the day we can cite all these random behaviors, but for a lot of people you just know when you look at them. Jaejoong makes my gaydar go "weewooweewoo" all the livelong day 

Yup, same when he chooses to perform love songs by female singers, written from a straight woman's perspective.. Boy can't get more obvious. :o

Haha I think he has that effect on a lot of people's gaydars, it was the same for me and still is - it's just that now I could see him being into girls too, but maybe more romantically. I don't know. Sometimes I wish I knew cause his case drives me crazy.

The interesting thing about Jaejoong is when he talks about his own love life, he uses gender neutral pronouns (which incidentally also double as male pronouns lol). The interviewers always say "she", so why does Jaejoong insistently say "they"? (Translations always use "she" for his words, but don't be fooled; he's saying "they" or "that person").

 

I only know of one girl he dated, and he was quite young then. I think he really started to come to terms with his sexuality after getting signed and being surrounded by all dat ghei

Very true, I've also noticed this. Same for his songs, he uses gender-neutral pronouns in a lot of them, which gives the impression that he wants to show he's not exclusively (or not at all actually) interested in women.

But we can't be sure that he's shown 0 interest in women, he may have had relationships we don't know of and he's had his share of scandals (though most of them seem fake tbh).

Lol i don't think i made it look like he hated women, i simply stated that he doesn't sound interested in women, even if he dated girls before that doesn't basically prove anything, also his older sister spoke of how girly he was when he was young and how he would wear his sisters clothes and they would scold him and then he would cry, so basically it was not that difficult if they had suspicions that  he was gay , he also had that famous kissing like pic with his room mate, he was young and wasn't famous to do that for fanservice,and knowing how Korea is about homosexuality then why would he pose in that way with his male friend? Point is even him dating girls now won't make me think he is bisexual especially when lately he sounds too freaked out with " i'm not gay" statements so it seems to me more like,he's going to enlist and he needs a reputation even with dating. 

I know all that and I take all these facts into account~

I agree that him dating women doesn't prove anything at all, it's just the way that he has talked about it. About that kissing pic with his then roommate of course it could be genuine, I'm not saying he's straight and I do think he's attracted to men, even more than he might be to women..

Whether he's gay or bi I wouldn't be surprised either way, but if he's straight then I won't ever trust my gaydar again. :x

Oh, you meant only pre-debut? I also only know his girlfriend that he dated for years, and the other people he talked about were just people he was attracted to, but maybe he dated more, who knows? And I mean girls AND boys of course, I have the feeling he experimented a lot when he was young... ^^

Dating girls before becoming famous was a pretty normal thing to do, he still had his "image" in front of his family members and also it's not like he was going to embrace the gayness once he figured himself out. I see that in his dramas the way he has like zero chemistry on camera and off with his female co stars, also the way he basically shuns any dating rumors and the ways his tone changes when "women" are brought up in a discussion or in an interview , even in his concerts, when he interacts with females fans is totally cold and pushed compared to the way he interacts with male fans. In many of the vids i watched for jae and after much observing, i noticed that he gets all soft and flirtatious even reveals skin when men are around, so many things had me convinced that that he is gay.

Nah but I get what you're saying, the thing is he has talked about past loves (allegedly with women) and he seemed sincere to me. I don't know his family personally but from what I know of Korean society, I don't think they would have jumped to the conclusion that he was gay had he not dated girls.

But they always seem very supportive of him, so even if they didn't know at the time that he was actually attracted to men, if they know now I like to think they support him~

I would also like to mention that even in western societies gay men often do date someone of the opposite gender at least once. I don’t think in necessarily has anything to do with hiding the fact that you are gay and more with discovering/confirming if you are in fact gay or straight. 

But he did it more than once... When he was young and then older, so it wouldn't really be to make sure that he's gay.. I don't know if him dating women had to do with his image or if he was indeed "experimenting", but it seems weird that he would keep dating girls after realizing he was 100% gay.

Yes, maybe he does/did it for his image, it's difficult to be sure.. The thing is, we don't often see him with women so we can't really tell if he's attracted to them or not. And while there seems to be lots of people today who think he's gay, it wasn't always the case - he didn't have an image to "protect" before debut or even at the very beginning of TVXQ, yet he still dated girls.

But it's totally clear that some of the "scandals" he had with female celebrities were completely fabricated.

Why are so many of ye convinced that Jaejoong's gay? I'm not a JYJ fan or much of a DBSK fan, so I don't know much about him. So yeah, honestly asking xD;;

I think he's bi - but the first time I layed eyes on him, my "gaydar" went crazy, even though I knew nothing about him. It was just a feeling, but I then saw how he acted around men etc, his general behavior and yeah... Boy ain't straight imo.
