*cracks knuckles Okay, let's get right to it. Psychology is great, but in theoretical cases, there's not much actual scientific evidence that has been proven. Freud, for example, has some great theories that add up and some that are completely ridiculous. In essence, what you're saying is that you can mold and change people to be a certain way with the Tabula Rasa theory. There's no biological evidence for this theory, either. So basically, from what you're saying: gay people are not born that way and they can in fact be changed or trained to be a certain way. Except that the chromosome breakthroughs are extremely important and I don't see any people actively disputing it. For us gay men, this is an extremely important scientific breakthrough. You can read more about it here, which I highly recommend. Again, what you're saying is implying that homosexuality is completely avoidable and that validates many extremist and homophobic organisations. Personally, I find it incredibly insulting. That bit is simply untrue. It is well known that many personality traits, habits and mannerisms are inherited. Your first error about history: religion =/= Abrahamic religions. What do you think people in ancient Europe and the Near East believed in? Untrue as well. There are many laws in history against acts such as incest, bestiality, etc. Many of them implemented the death penalty. Homoerotic sex was not considered immoral, so was therefore not mentioned in such laws. However, there were attitudes regarding male/male sex. The person on the bottom was considered unmanly in many Mediterranean cultures as well as Norse cultures in Europe. In these times, a person could not simply decide to live an exclusively gay life. He had to marry and have children for the community in most cases. There are notable exceptions to this, but that's just the way life was. Another thing you're wrong about is promiscuity. The Med. had very strong ideas of virtue and morality. That last bit is just pseudo-science with no actual evidence for it.

A lot of this is historically inaccurate. In past, before Christianity, it wasn't feasible to live as a homosexual man. Also, people who owned slaves or whatever probably didn't care who they fucked. Just because a man has sex with another man doesn't make him homosexual. It's a homosexual act but it doesn't make him homosexual. A lot o these people often preferred female slaves anyway. I mean, studying ancient Rome, you can find many men who were noted for their exclusive interest in men. People who claim the past was more 'bisexual' oftentimes misinterpret or don't understand the context of the situation OR just can't read between the lines. I myself used to believe that most of the population was 'bisexual', but I hadn't experienced much life nor was I well read on sexuality in general.

Most species that exhibit 'bisexual' traits either are bonobos, who are extremely sexually promiscuous and use sex for any number of things, or animals trying to assert dominance over others of their species. And yes, the sole biological purpose of sex is to reproduce. It's the reason why it exists. The vast majority of life exists to beget life. There are obvious exceptions to this rule (homosexuals, obviously), but we are a small minority because it wouldn't due to have a large population of homosexuals because we naturally don't naturally have an impulse to procreate (without homosexuality being heteronormalised like it is today).

No, there is nigh definite evidence of sexuality (at least in men) of being an inborn trait affected by various genetics and chromosomal factors. A lot o what you've said has no scientific basis to it.

Gaybaiting has been the normal word for this for such a long time. Queer is one of the harshest words to call a gay person; probably even worse than faggot.
