I'm curious as to what you guys thought of Tang Anqi's Romance Kakurenbo performance for the opening of NII's B5 stage. I'm not sure if I'm overreacting with how bad I thought this was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kYczUA-ScU Anqi's beautiful, her voice is cute (though that's nothing special), and she seems like a nice, polite girl from interview segments. So I am not making a personal attack on her, but merely giving criticism for her as a performer. She's deadpanned and dances like a puppet. My biggest criticism is that her eyes are completely empty. Eyes are one of the most honest indicators for whether the performer is sincere in what he/she is conveying or not. Just because the girl is pretty and the voice is pleasant doesn't excuse the lack of emotion in that said face and voice on stage and in front of the camera. So management is pushing her. Fine. Maybe she has some hidden potential that I fail to recognize. But if they're going to continue pushing this girl, then she'd better get her act together because this is the real entertainment world, and not a middle school talent show. And the glaring truth is that there are many other NII girls who can deliver a better performance than that.

^This. Exactly what I think as well Yeah... I've seen lots of JKT/Indonesian fans complain about their dance, saying stuff like "They lack energy.", "The dance has no passion.", etc. They have that softness and elegance from more traditional Chinese culture fused in. Reminds me of this kind of image sometimes LOL XD

LOL oops XD Sorry about that! ------- I think this performance is worth watching if you are a Team SII fan They really delivered a solid performance. From the Beginner teasers, I thought their vocals were kind of weak, but they sound so amazing here, and OMG OMG just look at how tidy and synchronized those dance movements are now!!!!

Was going through old posts, so sorry for random reply XD but Yanyu's Chinese name is this: å¾è¨€é›¨ and THIS character in her name, "雨", is Chinese for "rain". And of course, "Ame" is Japanese for "rain" Hope that helps you understand why her nickname is Ame XD

Team SII's Pajama Drive stage! The first four songs, plus MC (which is really long and a bit tedious, and the girls just chat about experiences and stuff) I really, really liked this!! SO PROUD! Their dance, vocals, and stage presence all improved so much. I think these girls have found their own unique happy spot in terms of performance. Sure, the energy and passion is different from JKT's electrifying one, or the Japanese groups' hyper one, but it's definitely there in a special SNH48 form. And I wasn't bored watching Team SII!

Apparently, it already debuted during the theatre show for Team SII's Pajama Drive stage on May 30th. So I guess there just isn't a full version available for us to watch online yet

Looking forward to the new MV. They look fantastic... but I still feel like their vocals are really lacking. and awww~ Yuge looks adorable. Haha, obviously a comedy film; soccer (well, men's soccer anyway) is like a national joke in China

And I'm just like, .....who's Angel.... o_O? -Googles- Ahhh... I see... funny, I had no idea who she was till now Edit: Watched her appeal video and looked her up... Well now. I don't see how she deserves more attention or management push than Jingyi Heck, she didn't even catch my attention up till now, and I've noticed almost all members at some point or another by now... Well, Jingyi does have a much quieter personality and she isn't as bouncy-bouncy on camera as the others, but yeah, I agree. She's a strong member, so I hope she ranks as well... -- And I suppose the Tangmin topic is outdated by now and that we should move on, but I also think Tangmin remains a very important part of SNH48's history, and that while we don't have to hover over and debate about what happened to her, we should at least acknowledge her contribution to the group in its infancy and remember her somewhere in the back of our minds.

I politely interrupt this passionate debate to say, TEAM NII'S PV FOR "FOOTBALL PARTY" IS OUT OMG OMG OMG!! I've been observing this group's two generations/teams, and I've noticed that NII is much more suited for those uplifting, energetic numbers, while SII is a lot more subdued in terms of energy. Not saying SII isn't good; they've gotten better, and they have a matured feel to their performances. They have this very Chinese sort of softness/elegance -It's just a cultural thing that I recognize as a Chinese person- so I really don't think they are a good fit for tough songs like RIVER or Beginner. They do better with songs like Sakura no Shiori (which they sang beautifully). But anyway, NII is doing well in terms of bright and happy spirit NANA-CHAAAAN~!! Dance and lip-sync needs a bit more work, but ah well. Camera presence is definitely there for the most part. (but man... Jingyi was non-existent in this, pretty much O___O)

Thanks for the replies I see... maybe she just stands out for others in ways that I don't see XD I wish her all the best. It's just AHHHH there's so many other girls who work just as hard. Since Shanghai was home to me at one point, I've been following this group ever since their existence was announced, and I guess I feel that way about SAVOKI because I saw her being pushed and thrown into the spotlight right from that very first Heavy Rotation video (she got the "1 2 3 4!!!") , along with Tangmin, and whereas Tangmin was so likeable for me, she wasn't as much. Anyway, I guess it's just me then

-pops out from nowhere- I literally became a member of this forum because all of you guys and this thread itself is so awesome Just wanted to say, I am also vying for Jingyi to get more attention. I watched the preliminary results video this morning and was seriously surprised to not see her on there. As to why she is popular with fans, I think it's rather self-explanatory. She can dance; she can sing (the girl can SING. If you listen to her covers on the Chinese karaoke app Changba, she sounds like a recording artist for serious songs. Basically, Yokaze no Shiwaza does her no justice whatsoever.), and she's very pretty. She isn't a classic Chinese beauty, but in terms of the idol world, she's definitely very cute and pretty to look at. Jingyi isn't my favourite member because I tend to like girls for personality AND skill, who are more animated and outgoing in a sincere way (like Tangmin). However, Jingyi has a really strong skillset and a ton of raw talent that I think the SNH management would be dumb to keep her in the shadows or corners. Now, can somebody explain to me why SAVOKI is so darn popular? I have nothing against the girl, but she's like plain porridge in comparison with a lot of other girls and doesn't stand out for me in any way so it frustrates me so much to see her always center. (No offense to SAVOKI fans, because, well, there's a lot of you out there)
