Taengoo TV??? That video is literally the cutest thing I've watched in my life, I'm not sure I'll be able to survive a whole show

No worries, I usually don't get into convos/discussions much here (unless its to welcome newbies cause I feel a sense responsibility  ) but when I do, its because I find it interesting. And I enjoyed this one despite us having different views. ^-^

 

True. I only started to see the traits I listed as prominent when she was already in Slytherin.

I guess it depends on the questions because mine were mostly situational. That's were I based my sorted based on one's choices statement from. The only random question I got was the last one, left or right. Which I think is based on your impulse decision like how the questions were in the patronus quiz. 

 

I also think the psychology behind the answers is what determined the result.

That's where we differ, because I separate personality test from the sorting quiz.

I believe personality or character is what defines you as a person. It takes time to develop and change. Attitude on the other hand is how you handle or approach certain things. A choice that you make given the situation or environment you are in.

 

The Weasly twins, despite being naturally ambitious, cunning and most importantly, pure blooded, were sorted into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin. 

 

Its totally cool if you think she would fit more in Hufflepuff, I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, she does have some of their traits. We have different views and that's what makes an interesting discussion.

And no it wasn't me.

That was quite cool to see how much of a perfectionist she is."

LDN Noise mentioned Taeyeon as one of the memorable studio recording experiences. They said Taeyeon is an unbelievable singer who raise a song to another level. 

And that time she wanted to sing Time Lapse again, cause she felt like it wasn't good enough.

It took her 8 years before going solo. Either she did prioritize SNSD more (^loyal/leadership) or she was definitely well prepared when the time came, or both.

Not running into a battle out of an act of adrenaline and bravery. They go in there with a strong idea of what they want to achieve, and how they're going to get there.

 

And finally that "certain disregard for the rules". 

Little mischievous yes, but not necessary rule-breaker, she's too good for that, more like bending the rules.

 

Mainly because they don't believe there's only one “right†set way of doing things. Even when they do end up breaking every rules/limitations set by others but they will never break their own rules/standard they set for themselves. 

 

 

 

Taeyeon fits right in, or maybe she just really likes the official colors green and silver with the unofficial one, black (fascination for skulls, jack, etc.) 

 

I'm in no way painting her negatively (since Slytherin is the only house defined by what others consider as negative traits) This is just where I based my comment that she fits just fine in the house, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

It wasn't for me.

And that was my point, the quiz didn't know us personally, like our characteristics and traits. We got sorted based on the choices we made in a situation we were put in.

And no that wasn't directed to anyone in particular, I meant it in general. ^-^

 

I also don't know Taeng personally but just like how the sorting hat did consider Hermione in Ravenclaw (the house everyone seems to expect she'll be in) but more than books and cleverness, she clearly felt courage was of greater value than the accumulation of knowledge. She herself preferred Gryffindor. Same as how Luna is in Ravenclaw (instead of Hufflepuff based on how kind and compassionate she is) because unlike Hermione who is limited by the books, she has the ability to think outside the box, which she visibly excelled at. She embraces and is proud of that ability of hers. 

 

I myself don't know how Taeng ended up in Slytherin, whether she took the quiz or not, its clear, she made her choice and she seems happy being one.  

 

You make some really good points. I like how you described Luna especially. Still, no matter how I look at it I just don't really see the Slytherin traits as the most prominent in Taeyeon even tho she definitely has some of them. Especially after reading the results of that personality test she took. But again, what I think isn't really important. 

You're right about that. She has made her choice and is happy about it, I'm not going to take that away from her. And even tho I personally don't see Slytherin in her as much as I see some of the other houses, I'm not surprised she picked that house. As you have mentioned previously (at least I think it was you?) Taeyeon seems to have a fascination for things that are sort of bad ass and a little mischievous 

On another note, Taeyeon seems so happy in London!! It looks like she's enjoying herself and is having a really good time, and that makes me extremely happy too. She has worked so hard this year, so this break is definitely well deserved. Even if she is filming something, which I wouldn't complain about since I'm always thirsty for more Taeyeon material, it does seem like she's having a lot of free time to do the things she wants as well 

 

You don't need to, those are just what I noticed. And not all those qualities I mentioned are necessarily mean or evil, I'm not painting her that way.

I find it interesting too, like how we seem to take our Hogwarts House so seriously. 

 

 

 

 

 

I still believe you are sorted not by the traits you already have but by the ones you value the most.

 

Because if that was the case, Hermione would've been in Ravenclaw, Luna a Hufflepuff, Cedric a Gryffindor and the Weasly twins as Slytherin. It's the same reason why you have an entire family of Weaslys in Gryffindor and entire family of Malfoys in Slytherin because they were raised to value certain traits. Honor and bravery for Weasly kids and ambition and loyalty for Draco.

 

The sorting quiz also didn't know us personally, but we got sorted based on our choices and answers.

 

 

To those taegangs out there that are sorted into Slytherin, there are so much more to being a Slytherin than what people seem to believe. It means you are enduring and strong. The negative stereotypes and traits have hardly anything to do with your sorting, you are not a bad person. Positive characteristics are what counts. For those of you part of this house be proud because it means you are a strong person and probably one of the best part is you have Kim Taeyeon as fellow Slytherin! 

 

 

Though, to those who don't take it seriously but got sorted into Slytherin, I think the sorting quiz considered one's love for water, so don't feel bad if that was the reason why you're sorted into the house compared to your other answers. 

 

 

Taeyeon never showed us her results but if the kid wants to be a Slytherin, then she can be anything she wants. 

 

Harry Potter and Hogwarts houses are important, so it should be taken seriously! 

And btw, it's not that I think Slytherin is a bad house full of bad people, not at all. My point is that based on Taeyeon's personality I never felt like Slytherin is the house where she fits the most. And I know it's kinda stupid to think that way because I don't know her personally, but judging from what we see and also from that personality test she took Slytherin seems like a weird fit imo. But maybe she actually fits there perfectly, and I have misjudged her completely, or maybe Slytherin was just her result on the quiz or maybe she just thinks the house is cool or all of the above, what do I know.

Those are the only ones I can think of right now, there's probably more. 

 

The other houses are cool too and she has some of their known traits, but like you said, the sorting hat itself takes one's wishes into account when sorting.

 

Hence, 

 

Its not the color either, because then she would've preferred to be a Ravenclaw. She's a potterhead, so I think there is something in Slytherin that she relates and identify the most. 

 

 

Others tend to overlook the good qualities of a Slytherin because of the reputation, but we do have them. 

 

I'm not sure if I agree with all of those actually 

But then again, I don't know Taeyeon and she knows herself best, obviously. I just find it really interesting to discuss. And the Hogwarts houses are really complex (Slytherin is possibly the most complex one) and Taeyeon is also a complex person, so she's difficult to place imo. I'm just really happy Taeyeon is as passionate about Harry Potter as I am!

And you're right about Slytherins often being misunderstood, and that people tend to overlook their good qualities. After all Severus Snape, one of the most interesting characters in the Harry Potter universe, was a Slytherin! 

I personally want to be a Hufflepuff, but the more I think about it the more i realize that I might not actually fit there, sigh...

I actually think Taeng would fit right into Slytherin. I bet she even used floo powder to travel to London. 

Because I believe you aren't sorted by what traits you have but by what traits you value the most. 

 

 

 

What Slytherin traits do you feel like Taeyeon values? I've always felt like she fits in Hufflepuff, because some of the main characteristics of a Hufflepuff is being hard working and dedicated. And we all know Taeyeon works really hard because she is passionate about music and not because she's achievement oriented, which is one of the Slytherin traits

On the other hand, the sorting hat takes your own wishes into account when sorting, so maybe it would place her in Slytherin after all

Omg Taeyeon sure knows how to make my morning. I've been watching Fukuoka part 1 on repeatedly since I woke up and then she blesses us with part 2 so soon  It looks like she had a great time there! I love seeing her so happy 

I was at Gimpo airport at the same time as Taeyeon... But I took a domestic flight so I was at the other side of the airport. Fml

All these ig updates are giving me life. Yesterday she was supporting pride and now she's gaming again. We don't deserve her tbh

And her voice is definitely not in a good condition right now :/ I want her to rest, but with the comeback coming up soon there won't be any time for that...
