  1. Are Barbra's note G5 and G#5 in mix or head voice or just a very heady mix? I'm confused bcs those particular notes shines more and seem brighter than her preceding notes, whereas the other divas seem obvious that the G5 and G#5 are going further from their tessitura, where their voice shine the most.
  2. I think what he meant is that gay people or some with inner gay (not trying to stereotype) tends to speak in higher pitch. That's why us baritones sound like a tenor when we speak but doesn't make us less baritone, perhaps. Anyway, Ahmin told me that my vocal skill is comparable with Park Bom but unlike her I use too much legato. I take that as a compliment lol.
  3. So I said on my previous post that I strained Bb2 which is a fingerslip lol. I meant to say that I can strain Bb4 but my F4 is also strained but not as strained... Bless King Baekhyun.
  4. Yeah it's still pretty weird tho how a baritone could not sing B2 which often times is reachable by tenor. Idk what's wrong with your vocal folds lol. Lets just say you have a unique untrained voice.
  5. Lol the inner gay thing is probably accurate. Tho I'm just gay, no inner gay whatsoever lol.Maybe that's just difference in range. I mean, I can produce F2 with tone but that's not a good note, it's not stable. And even tho I can strain an Bb2, I also strain F4 but not as strained. You might still be a baritone, with a still expanding range..
  6. That's exactly my case. I speak quite high and light compared to other guys, tho I'm not really sure if I have a lyric tenor friend to compare. I was also placed as tenor in my high school choir due to my relatively high pitched speaking voice. But ahmin and nekci told me that I am a baritone judging from my tessitura and timbre, I think. My limit strained mix is around A4/Bb4 and I could produce a F2 with actual tone. So I'm now sure that I'm a baritone. Idk which type tho, I'm leaning towards lyric baritone as I don't really have the weight to be anything but.
  7. I really want to participate in this discussion but I don't have the required knowledge. So, unlike other users, I'll keep silent when silence is due..
  8. Oh okay I think I just now need to learn how to use a headier mix. I think my belts are very chesty, like whitney but the average version.. So a more balanced/headier mix is requiredThanks for the explanation!
  9. LOL yeah okay I'm not confused actually. I just thought the head voice u meant is the true head voice which is not airy and all. I hope the G5 wasn't my limit either, maybe I just need to improve so my range could be more extensive. And how can I feel that I sing relatively comfortably when I sing an F4 but struggle a G5/A5, that's just a note apart. I mean Ahmin is also a baritone but he said that Bb4 is part of his belting range if I'm not mistaken.
  10. Probably, but I can't access my male true head voice yet. So the G5 is my limit in falsetto. Please tell me whether I improved or not by the recordings I gave you and do I still use my throat dominantly when I sing? People mistake me as tenor when I speak tho cos I speak in middle third octave I think
  11. So I'm a baritone with a quiet D2, a strained G4 and a screech G5. Is it considered a normal range for me?
  12. Thesis killed me </3I didn't know you'd miss me that much, I'll text u soon
  13. I swore I replied when your answer wasn't on my page yet I looked stupid lol. What was the note that Hyorin hit?
  14. Hyolyn X JooYoung - Erase http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLjMNZrr8YI
  15. I don't think so. I saw Beyonce's love on top performance the other day and it was when she's on her early stage of pregnancy. She slayed just fine. Resonance was there throughout her performance. She even went three or four times overtunes (more than the studio version) if I'm not mistaken. Idk if someone is on the last stage of pregnancy tho, idk whether the baby would affect the diaphragm movements.
  16. Thanks Ahmin for updating Hyorin's analysis. Her F5's finally get the spotlight they deserve lol.
  17. Those E2 and G2 that D.O hit soundpretty much like a fry to me, why are those counted as his vocal range?Baekhyun's falsetto sounds nice tome, I don't really know about the techniques tho.
  18. Lol those hands couldn't get enough of Baekhyun lol I lost count on how many times did he handshake baekhyun. His voice is nice, his lower voice is pretty clear but I think he's a tenor? I also see he's not very stable with pitch just like ahmin said. Anyone knows about his vocal technique? He's cute.
  19. I don't think so. I believe the population of sopranos are way bigger than us baritones in the world. That's why the world is such a noisy place. (I'm not being sexist, just stating the fact that they produce the highest pitched sounds, love you girls)
  20. Lol at baritoneness. Is that even a noun? I gather there are so many baritones in this thread.
  21. Check your pm. Prepare for major earache lol
  22. Sorry but I'm def quoting you on that, with further questions as bonus. Does bigger voice make it harder for the voice to show agility when singing? Do you know anyone whose voice is very agile but considered to have "big/heavy voice"?
  23. Well, I frequently use vocal fry when trying to hit a D2 or even C#2. But not for speaking tho..
