Hi fellow Uaenas.. It's been a long time since I posted here. I would also like to share my opinion on the matter. Although my all-time favorite singer in KPOP is IU, I have followed most of the girl groups as well. As for Taeyeon and IU's comparison, I actually hate fans too,especially some Sones, because they keep on comparing the two singers when in fact, they have different style and they have different images. Truth be told, technically, Taeyeon is a better vocalist than IU. Even without reading the vocal thread about IU's vocal ability, I know that IU is really not a powerful vocalist. IU actually strains in her high notes especially her signature "I'm in my dream-3 high notes" to which she was known. IU has a problem with breathing too, notice that when she sings, we can hear her deep breath. But as an IU fan, subjectively, I love IU's way of singing although it's technically incorrect. Because when IU sings her ballad, you can really feel the emotion and her breathing adds a little bit drama to the song.. Taeyeon, on the other hand,is very strict in technicalities. When SNSD sings in concerts, Taeyeon really hates it when the audio is bad and when other members strain or can't sing the right note. During SNSD's concert here in my country, I notice that Taeyeon really is sensitive to notes and audio. When there is a problem, she either touches her earphone or ear-mics or whatever they call it and can see her expression of dismay on her face. That is because Taeyeon is very sensitive and pushes herself as a good technical singer, probably because she's the main vocalist of the group. Taeyeon also, during her early years is as expressive as IU during her early years. Taeyeon sings clearly and cleanly with her ballads and OST's back in the days and even now. IU on the other hand, has upgraded her musicianship, she has become more expressive in her lyrics and compositions. Upgraded because she has always been an artist-musician from the start. She has a wider knowledge in music genres as I see it. She knows various artist around the world and have eclectic choices. She loves exploring music and has different musical influences such as Sting, Prince, Corinne Bailey Rae, other artist around the globe, and a lot of respected singers in Korea which I find rare in KPOP. When she sings old songs, she incorporates her own style and own interpretation. I really found her awesome in transforming Kung Ddari Sha Barah, from a dance song to a somewhat children song. Lol. She's really bound to be a singer-composer because even before debut, she has already composed songs. In her Last Fantasy album, she began to write lyrics for her songs and started to release her compositions. She is no longer just a singer, but has become a singer telling stories and expressing her own views, opinions, hardships in life. I really love singers who compose their own songs because I like knowing the stories behind the songs.That is why I adore her a lot and will love her for a lifetime in KPOP because she tells her stories in her music for the benefit of her audience and for herself. All in all, they are both good singers which caters to different type of people.

I remember, members of this thread (Uaenas) also made a lot of opinion regarding the released duet of IU and Yoon Hyun Sang. We really are matured kids saying things based on our own opinions in a nice and respectful way. By the way, do you think IU would not have even a single person to feature on one of the songs on her album? I kind of hope she will have one.

Me too, I won't really care about IU charting high on the charts because I will be considerate to her, for her first produce album, because I know it is really difficult to entirely make one song, what more if all of the songs were entirely composed by her. But even back then, I really don't care that much on having high scores on music charts, etc. But still, I wish and pray that the album will be loved by lots of people and be of success because she deserves it.

Oh yeah, you said it was nice. I was actually referring to the excitement thing. I also think that the reason why you didn't get excited is because you are not really stanning her, thus you don't know her style of singing, etc. Oh well, you still said it was nice and you don't have to explain to other people why it did not excite you because we are all free to express ourselves and your statement was completely harmless. So yeah, if you feel bad, don't be, I was just stating my opinion too.

I read that someone ask in the thread on who would we like to be paired with IU in her MV, I will easily pick Yoo Seung Ho... keke. My IU-Yoo Seung Ho heart will forever sail in my heart. keke. IU and Siwan is wonderful too, like in their Samsung CF, although it's a little bit cheesy, I mean, the scenario of the CF and lines, but I like it a lot, and like their pairing.

I respect your opinion, but I find her mini-album beautiful. I’ll admit that Taeyeon is one of my favourite SNSD member but I honestly think that her mini album and first work as a solo singer is awesome. And I must say, I really did not expect her to release such kind of songs because I thought she likes the catchy, fast, and powerful songs like The Boys, etc., despite singing a lot of OST and ballad songs, but I guess for first solo works, it would be good to release slow ballad songs or RNB first then try fiercer image and change after a time to create more hype. Because I am in love with ballads I like the song U R more and Gemini although I almost like all genres of music. I know that she personally pick the songs to be included in her album, so I guess it was a nice choice of her and from what I heard she participated in writing some of the lyrics. I have expected a lot from her and she was able to deliver. Now, it would be awesome for our IU to release her first produce album. I’m really excited about it. I already admire her will-be released album, because I know it's hard to produce an album, thus, already an achievement beyond compare.

Hi fellow IU fans... It's been 4 months since I last posted here. I'm sorry at the same time thankful to you guys for always leaving post here. It's just that I'm really busy because of school works and I made up my mind not to sign-in to keep away my fingers on OH. But truth is, I'm not just sign-in but I check-up on this thread, on what's happening to IU for some time. I've w atched Infinity Challenge too, and she's really awesome and charming on the show. Her cover of BB song and WG song was lovely. I'm so excited for her album. I will seldom post here and I just signed-in to say that I'm thankful to all of you, fellow IU fans for keeping me updated. Oh my god... Me too... I already knew her before but became a fan during Dream High Era. I also posted almost the same comments on the allkpop and youtube. Her allkpop articles were seriously a mess, always talking about the scandal. At first, I planned not to entertain any post and comments but it was already too much that I decided to post comments defending her in a nice way. I was sad for her at that time and sad for the people who posted slutty comments about her. They were already too much after calling her a lot of things such as whore, slut, etc. when in fact they don't know what happen just like I do. The immaturity was beyond madness. During that time, I respected IU more because she still continued her schedule as if nothing happened. I once wish that time that she must rest first and stop appearing on TV because fans might throw paper or anything to her especially during Inkigayo, as MC but she did not and she even became a host of one of the Music Station awarding ceremony. I was scared for her because I saw a picture of her burnt CD and petitions for her to answer and be taken away the Nation's Little Sister title. I'm 100% sure she's sad and shock just as we are as a fan, but she really did a good job handling the stress. Her composure during that time was commendable. I really like her and her music..

This question was probably ask in here, but I'll still ask it, Do you guys know IU's favorite color? Her internet profiles say she likes yellow and red but do you guys have videos or interview on which she answered yellow and red as her favorite color. I really just wanted to know. I actually thought it's purple or perhaps yellow, or even black. Her airport fashion color is usually black from what I've seen in the pictures.

Hello guys... Last time I posted here was probably a month ago... But I am always checking onehallyu to follow and see IU's activity and all your posts although I'm not signed in... Thanks a lot, the Q&A challenge you guys made and answered really helped in moving the page... awesome!... I'm so busy with my schoolworks, but now, it's already our summer vacation. I am excited for the drama. So far, so good. The poster seems just right as well as the bus teaser. It was simple but fun and quirky. IU's role is a top songstress that is why I honestly think that it was just right for her to act and dress that way in the bus teaser although they could have style her more. But come to think of it, although she's a top singer, she's only 21 or probably 23, thus her dress could just be like that. And Cindy, her role, from what I know is not totally an ice princess, she just don't easily talk and make friends with others because of her experience but as what IU said, she is a charming lady. So she's probably fun to be with and caring if she's already friends with someone. Just as I thought, IU would not be able to make a comeback this April probably even this May. The drama will probably help in her new album as well, like for instance she'll try to sing and experiment different genre and see if netizens will like it. Anyways, we will be able to hear her voice through the OST and she's a singer, so she's probably gonna sing sometimes too.

Hi... It's been weeks since I last posted here... My reading assignments are eating me... kekeke I'm really gonna make a long comment.... kekeke. To be honest, I'm still having a problem with the idol/artist thing. Aren't idols an artist as well? The definition of an artist is a person engaged in one or more of any of a broad spectrum of activities related to creating art, practicing the arts, and/or demonstrating an art (Wikipedia). Well, if wiki is unreliable, here's merriam- one who professes and practices an imaginative art, a person skilled in one of the fine arts. From the definition itself, a singer doesn't need to create and write her own song to be called an artist, because professing and practicing it is enough already to be called an artist. Or, am I wrong? Should an artist be someone who directly creates the art as well? Or is is talking about the image? So yeah, I'm still confused. But to answer the question, Even though IU has control and say on her music, IU is still an idol but she's also an artist even from the start because she's practicing it.Thus she's an idol, artist, a singer, song writer and composer as well. kekeke (Side note: When I heard the songs from her first album, especially MIA and the other RNB style, I already have the feeling that she's not just a singer who express the songs well, but I really think that she create and make music herself. During her earlier years, she's doing a lot of cover of popular songs, acoustic style, and that's just it, she's definitely someone who knows to play the guitar and play the melody. So, even from the start, I know she wanted to create and make her own song and style, thus a song-writer/composer.) Now, with regards to the new album to be released soon. Since last year, IU is said to have more than the idol title to which they call "an artist" but like I said, I always think an idol is still an artist. But because she is said to have that, her next album will be really hard to make. The company is now probably thinking and carefully planning on what to do next. (That's why I also have a feeling that it won't be released even in April) Yes, she has a say to her album, but she's still under a company, and her company still has the general control on it. I'm also worried about it too, since IU is known to have an awesome themed album. Will she now do a dance track, a ballad, an all wrtitten/composed song, or she'll mix everything? Well, IU is probably a singer who express more, a singer who just wants to sing and write, but I think she and her company is also considering her image. Thus, it boils down to the idea that she's still an idol, because she has to take care of her image, the artist image as what they say. As for now, even if the album will not be released soon, I have no problems, with it, as long as they will have enough preparations and if ready, will release a well-made album full of songs which we like and which IU would like to sing. As for IU vs. Big Bang, I'm worried but at the same time curious on what will be the result. But at the end of the day, I still love IU and her music whether or not she will slay in the results of her album. But yeah, that would really be exciting at the same time nerve-wrecking if they will release their albums at the same time. kekeke. I just hope she won't get bash for anything. By the way, I'm really happy because we already reach 200 pages... Yehey! <3

To be honest, I was surprised too. Most of the Uaenas are matured and cool with their comments and posts, as far as I know even Korean Uaenas. Well, of course there are some who keeps bragging IU but that's it. Most Uaenas don't bash other fandom or idol, and we are not degrading them. We are just proud of her, and most of us even express how much we are proud of her in a nice way. keke. Anyways, it's not our problem anymore if they keep us seeing like that. The important thing is for us to show that we are matured enough and we just became one through Uaena to support and love IU, especially her music.

I hope she will feature too, but if the album is made of 13 tracks including the title track, I want only 3-4 featuring tracks I guess, since she already had many collab last year. keke.. I think IU will release the album 3rd or last week of April or even May. Loen said the album is not yet conceptualize and songs are not yet decided. huhu.. In album preparations, finding out the concept or theme is one of the hardest. How I wish they can already find out what concept would suit her now and what type of music will be on the album so that they can already start the recording and slay us after the release. keke...
