Yes she strikes me as someone who’s technically solid without having to belt or sing high notes all the time lol. Great musicality as well.
-
Speaking of H.E.R, what do you think of her technique?
-
Since there's some discussion about Indonesian Idol..which is better perf, technique wise?
-
Because she sounds much deeper than a lot of female singers nowadays, and also she sounds a bit like this guy: Usually with mezzos I can easily tell they're females, but not with this one. She is a new singer, when I heard her song at first I wondered whether this singer is a feminine-voiced male or deep-voiced female lol.
-
Not Kpop, but possibly a contralto? She's 97 line.
-
Thanks! Probably because a lot of songs are higher people's speaking range, so they barely train their low register thus lacking support and projection. Thanks! 1. Yeah maybe they're tenors with dark tone, so people think they're baritones when actually their speaking pitch isn't lower than usual tenor. 2. When I said "one's speaking voice pitch is around A2" I mean that's the consistent pitch of speaking voice in relaxed manner (talking normally, not purposely make the voice lower/higher or a dip). So if an untrained person try to sing around their speaking pitch, it should be easier than singing in much higher/lower pitch, right? 3. What's the average speaking pitch of baritone? About F2-B2 I guess?
-
Is someone's speaking voice directly related to their vocal range? Let's say someone's speaking voice pitch is around A2, does it mean that he can sing A2 comfortably without training? By 'comfortably', I mean they don't need to try hard to reach the note.
-
I used Audacity to analyze the pitch of Michael Bolton's speaking voice, it's around C3-D3. If a guy, early 20s, has speaking voice around A2-B2 with slightly dark tone, he's possibly a low tenor or high baritone, right?
-
Thanks for the reply guys! Yeah I feel the same. I like her voice, it's quite unique. But I also feel her technique isn't all that, y'all explained it well. But as long as the singer: Doesn't sing out of tune, can hit high notes, has pretty tone, convey emotions well, can improvise..i think it's good enough for most listeners. Does she have any support btw?
-
Sorry to ask non Kpop related. She's Indonesian Idol 2021 contestant and many ppl think she has great technique. What do y'all think about these: 1:05 onwards (head voice/falsetto parts) 2:11 (G5) 2:32 onwards (D5 etc)

(G)I-dle's Yuqi...possibly a mezzo?
-
Thank you! In Kpop, who has similar level to her?
-
Opinion of Chuther? She's a Youtuber who often does impression of Kpop vocalists. I feel her technique is pretty solid.
-
No that's not what I meant. If there's someone with somewhat weighty tone and can sing decently in upper 2nd - 4th octave, ppl often call him baritenor. Is this voice type real? Or he's just a higher placed baritone / lower placed tenor?
-
Is baritenor a real voice type? Or you're either a low tenor or high baritone?
-
Someone makes vocal analysis of Kpop newer gen. It's in Vietnamese, just use Google Translate. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Duahaufancy/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1223671641357594&ref=page_internal

I mean Jeongwoo probably can improve IF he’s in SM, even though I agree it’s not guaranteed. Oh I thought DK is around avg-above avg level lol. You should add Ali, Ben, John Park, Naul, Son Seung Yeon, Lee Hyun (8eight). About Hynn, what’s her level? Around average?
-
Hmm maybe because I put lower standard for newer gen idol, I think he sounds decent for idol standard lol (maybe around Jungkook’s level). Look at Taemin, at Jeongwoo’s age he can’t sing at all if i’m not mistaken. But look at him now. Jeongwoo maybe won’t reach SM’s main vocalist level, but Seulgi/SeoJeTi level is possible I think. @BAZISSINO From your best Kpop vocalist list, no DK and Seungyoon?
-
Thanks! Agree about his musicianship, it’s pretty good for a teenager. If he’s in SM probably he’ll be at KRY/Chenbaeksoo level in the future tho.
-
Park Jeongwoo, 2004 line, one of the main vocalists of Treasure (YG next boygroup). What do y’all think about his technique?
-
I see. It’s even more impressive if she’s indeed untrained, imagine if she gets proper training.

Not Kpop, but what do y’all think about her technique? She’s 16 y.o, the winner of Indonesian Idol 2020.
