No.Its not SM fault tho. MAMA date was planned like 3 months ago but the dome a d concerts were announced since June. It's not Mnet fault either. Just unfortunate time for Exo.

I prefer they don't perform at MAMA if they can't have a good stage because of tiredness or technical aspects. They are humans not robots so whoever planned Tokio dome concert one day before Mama did wrong.

Tokyo concerts were planned for a long time. It's more accurate to say why are they attending mama when they are tired.

He doesn't want El Dorado to be ruined .... so he will chose other songs to be ruined? those songs can be 'ruined'? isn't his job to collaborate with MAMA stage director so that everything be on point? They have at least 2 months to prepare the show, take care of every aspect: sound, lighting, stage, video, camera work etc. If Mama is the biggest Asian music festival, than I'm thinking they have a team of stand-ins that rehearse the songs on Mama stage weeks before the groups arrive and companies send their instructions and wishes for their songs to the producer of Mama. If SM performance director wants a certain camera work, just send the instructions, how he wants Exo's stage to be. Exo will arrive there in the day of ceremony, so theoretically all the techical aspects are already programmed for the performance. He has no excuse for what happened last year. This year, if he choose Lotto, than I'm thinking SM got alot of money from Labiotte to promote their wine. I don't want to see again Exo on Mama stage like commercial models for Givenchy and other brands , I want they have a well conceived artistic act, like they had in 2014 and stand there as performers. During Ligh saber you could see Givenchy written on Kai t-shirt from moon ;) and those Prada clothes didn't suit them at all ... hope this year the fashion coordinator will have good taste and dress them properly for this occasion, something that look good on them.

I always enjoy reading your post, I really don't pay much attention to sales charts or different aspects of kpop so your post give me an insight about all this stuff. Thanks for writing about these things and keep them coming.

 

I also read your post today and I have enjoyed it. can I say I always feel a little bit of envy towards everyone who have been exo's fans for a long time. I only got to know about them last year and I missed out on watching them become the people they are today.

 

I felt this particularly when I watched one of their interviews for mnet? They did after growl became a huge hit. I have watched a lot of interviews they had done but I feel they were never as carefree and happy before or after that period. Esp for kai, I think everything that happened afterwards has left a mark on him. He has had a lot of memorable moments after that but I feel he isn't the same innocent, radiant person who was thrilled to finally saw the results of all his hard work pay off. I regret missing out on seeing him, all of exo like that.

 

I am just going to add my thoughts here instead of making a separate post. I'll just say a bit about how I got to know them but what I am thinking about right now is why I chose stan this group above everyone else. You can't help thinking about these things when you see people constantly question the reason for their success or how they ended up with such a big fandom.

 

I heard about them soon after I got introduced to kpop in 2014. I had watched growl and overdose a few times on yt and they were the earliest of the kpop songs that I heard and liked. But beyond that I wasn't curious about them until last year when I happened to watch kai's deep breath and bdc performance. That really caught my attention so decided to check out this group. I then saw what is love mv and I fell in love with it. It's still my most favorite from exo's discography.

 

Afterwards I happened to come across these pimp posts on exochocolate about all the members, I liked reading about all the members but i teared up after reading kai and lay's posts. That pretty much won me over.

 

You know many might feel that they have borne too many difficulties so early in their careers but in hindsight, I wonder if it was a blessing in disguise. They say success can easily go to one's head but exo didn't even have time to process their success when they were faced with crisis. They had too much going on and I think they learned a lot of about life through this experience. It has taught them to be humble, hard working, grateful and not to take things for granted. I feel, they now know what holds true value in life.

 

There’s a saying in hindi that means, when gold is burnt in fire, it doesn't turn black but rather it gets clarified and shines even more.

 

For me, this is what sets them apart from other groups,that they survived and became better than before. They have a genuineness about them that I like. They are not dumb idiots who know nothing about life and struggles and I can relate to them because of it. They seem so ordinary in some ways but they are living this extraordinary life, dealing with it the best they could and they have enough self awareness that they know there is scope for improvement. They are not larger than life figures that you just assume living this kind of life.

 

Relatable - that the one word I think of to describe them and that's I am a their fans. Idk if this is making any sense but let's take suho, he isn't your typical leader type but I truly admire how dedicated he is towards the group. His speech at MMA made me tear up, when I saw the sech kies performance and was thinking about how I want exo to have something like this too and then suho came on stage and said the same thing. I once again felt how mature and sensible he is,to know what truly matters. I saw how genuine his feelings were and these little things, more than their handsome faces or amazing discography is why I became a fan of exo that I continue to be one despite everything.

 

Lol I have ended up writing another essay, sorry to inflict this upon you 😊

But it was kinda nice to take a moment or an hour to remind myself why I am here.

Hi, i don't post here a lot but there is something that I want to say

 

 

We Exols have dealt with a lot of things in the past few days. Everything important that needs to be said about this situation has already been said by others. Some of kind souls here have tried to reassure and help us deal with the negativity that we have faced recently.

 

What I want to focus on now is what lies ahead, MAMA awards, and how to deal with the mess that it might cause. I have been lurking and sometimes posting on this thread since monster era and I know how welcoming, funny and nice my exols are here. It really saddens me to see you all hurt about everything that has happened in the past few days.

 

As a kai Stan, I have been dealing with these things to a certain degree all year long so I wanted to give a suggestion that has helped me deal with things.

 

In the past few days, we have witnessed all the vagaries of human nature, the best and the worst. And we exols have borne the brunt of all that is worst in people.

 

Over the years we have tried to deal with it in various ways. Sometimes we have defended ourselves, or tried to reason with others, sometimes we have brought receipts to explain our stand on things, others times we have argued about it for pages. And when nothing has worked, we have withdrawn and tried to present a facade of nonchalance to hide our pain from all this hatred. A few of us have even cried when we could not deal with this bashing anymore.

 

But no matter what we do, we still end up as a punching bag for all the other fandoms. We are made out to be villains whether we are right or wrong. Every single time, our thoughts and feelings are either dismissed as irrelevant or we are told to suck it up and get over it. All of this has happened again after MMA.

 

So for MAMA awards, let's try something else. Let's make a resolution that on the day MAMA airs, for 24 hrs we will only say positive things to support our boys, to express our happiness over their performances and achievement. To make a comments only to express our joy, whenever we look at them and everything they do.

 

Let us decide that we will not explain,reason, argue, justify, complain, defend, taunt or ridicule anyone over anything, no matter how much they try to provoke us.

 

Here in india, we have a ritual called Maun Vrat, vow of silence. You basically make a vow to not speak for specific period to learn to control your tongue.

 

The vow of silence forces one to think silently, or to indulge in silent contemplation. It is a way of identifying thoughts and reflecting on them. Doing so helps us accept things in life that one can't control. It also help us find solutions to problems that do not get solved by talking, or problems created by talking, in the first place.

 

What I am suggesting is not complete silence but speaking only when we have something positive to say. We have seen it again and again how our own words are used as weapons against us, how our arguments are used to ridicule and humiliate us. We have tried everything to deal with all this hate and bashing but it hasn't really helped us has it? We are still made out to be monsters in every situation. So let's try something radically different this time.

 

We have been called animals and treated as less than human here, is it necessary that we still continue to engage with these people? Why do we play along with them in this drama and let them hurt and insult us?

 

Sometimes silence is the best answer and that's the only reply I want to give to these people who enjoy seeing others insulted and will gladly join in with any twisted logic to make it even more hurtful.

 

I know it not an easy thing to do, to hold your peace when others come after you but the choice is our. I know it's going to be a difficult thing to do for me too.

 

However we need to decide what holds more importance to us, are we here to be witness to the existence of these amazing men that we admire and love, or we here only to brag and defend anything related to them. Is this drama worth the pain we have to bear because of it?

 

Let's not loose sight of what really matters to us here. We don't need to give in to these petty people, their need for drama and get dragged down to their level. Let us hold on to our peace and get through this with dignity.

 

 

PS : this my own opinion so think whatever you want but can you all please refrain from apologizing to that fandom on behalf of exols. It's fine if you personally feel the need to say something about how you feel about this situation but don't say it as an exol because I'm an exol and I refuse to apologize and feed their victim complex.

 

Yes Exols have said a lot of things but that fandom has been down right nasty towards us. They have been just as awful so I think we are on equal footing here. I have read many thread and there isn't any sense of regret amongst them about how their fandom has spoken about us Exols. So don't fall for their guilt trap and apologize, that's one of the tactics of this type of mentality.

I'm probably one of the few caught in the middle since I idolize both, but I think it was stupid of them to tweet that... not only is it obviously biased, but to a lot of people, LDN isn't even all that. I personally prefer the music SM came out with before LDN came into the picture, but that's my opinion. The other party deserved the award just as much, but I still see so many people fighting over it all over social media, and what the hell can we do about it.. that's how most competitions are, one gains, another doesn't, but it doesn't mean it's a loss. It's important for anyone famous to stay humble but its just as important for their fans to remain humble as well.. Some of us are losing that.

 

 

 

seriously some fans are extra. all they achieved by their behavior is giving that group a free promotion and earned them pity from others while humiliated exo as if the public doesn't already look down on exo. and i'm not expecting fans to stop, they already made the same mistake over and over. taking their bashing to a new level and making EXO take the blame for their actions and making their "victims" earn even more love and sympathy than before.

i'm pretty sure those fans will end up jumping ship to newer groups acting all innocent and let EXO deal with their stupid behavior by themselves.

Yeah.

I think most fans there were Exo-l. Their cameras were on EXO that's why we had many Exo reactions and when they started to perform they were focusing on cheering up for Exo. Or other fans didn't want to show the video of their idols reacting to Exo.

I see everyone's having a tough time, with all the hate and fanwars, I am too. Some people on this forum are...interesting.

K-pop idols don't go to Japanese music programs. All promo Exo did there was through magazines and many concerts in Japan this year.
