The close harmony between the laidback beat of “Bad Boy†along with its short, addictive and unforgettable melody has a sense of tidiness to it, one that can only be felt from a masterpiece. The mature vocals work well with the song, so it’s hard to point out any flaws. oyo: Two songs (“All Right,†“Time to Loveâ€) along with “Bad Boy†were added into the most eye-catching K-Pop album of 2017, ‘Perfect Velvet.†After slimming the sounds down by leaving as much strength out as possible and then adding a few unforgettable components, “Bad Boy†was created. After the heavy bass creates the skeleton of the song, on top of it, the ‘groovy synth melody’ stretches out like branches of a tree. The sirens that can be heard from time to time in the chorus make the song more fun, but compared to the other songs in the album, “Bad Boy†is constructed rather simply. But, because of these choices, the listeners can get the impression that the dangerous but mischevious and dark atmosphere that Red Velvet showcased through “Peek-A-Boo†continues in “Bad Boy†also. The new added songs tried to stay in the same alley as the songs in the previous album as much as possible, but they’re disappointing because they’re not carrying their part out as well as “Bad Boy.†third: “Bad Boy,†the first track of the repackage album, is an unexpectedly soft song, unlike the image Red Velvet showed through their teasers. If it weren’t for the afterimage of “Peek-A-Boo,†this song might have had a hard time surviving as a title song. But with its iconic atmosphere, music video, outfits and concepts, SM filled in the empty holes. “Bad Boy†is an extension of “Automatic†and “Be Natural,†but it’s looser and has a somewhat gloomy side.
