Thrilled to see so much KRY goodness and goofiness and more praises for Kyu!!! but ... *sigh* Is anyone else actually... kinda not okay with D&E highjacking KRY's concert? Like, the dance battle was entertaining, and obviously they all love each other to bits and D&E wouldn't/couldn't do this without KRY's permission, so it's probably not a big deal and I could be making a mountain out of a molehill. But this is KRY's big comeback, their time to get back in the game so that they can hopefully help carry SuJu through the next couple years, and D&E have had plenty of time and opportunity to promote themselves while KRY have been on hiatus. It wouldn't kill them to sit back for a few hours and let KRY do their magical thing. But NOPE. Can't let another subunit have the spotlight for too long, apparently. Sorry... It's my bitterness from SS6 boiling over, I think. If KRY are fine with it, I shouldn't care so much.

Or maybe it's not that they don't want to, they just can't. Maybe they have a bunch of plans they need to start preparing for ASAP (8jib? KRY album? Kyu solo or SJM comeback? God, I wish), or maybe they're just too freaking tired. This has been a disappointing tour compared to SS5 in several ways, but if ending it early is what's best for them and they're okay with it, then so be it. Poor baby looks bushed. Lets you pick what kind of file you want to convert to, how long you want the sound clip to be, what quality, etc., plus it's pretty fast, and doesn't have tons of ads or sketchy extra download buttons. The way treats his juniors is wonderful. He respects them, and doesn't make a show of demanding respect in return. I dunno exactly how he feels about the age-based social hierarchy, but based on this and also on how he talks back to and teases his bandmates, I've kinda gotten the impression that he's... not that fond of it. Finds it too restrictive. At the very least, he won't let an age difference get in the way of a potential friendship. asldkfjs;lakdjf Not even gonna lie, it's always great seeing comments praising his vocal talent, but seeing people praise his personality like this? I think I like it even better.

Regarding the recent Leeteuk drama and his relationship with Kyuhyun... I dunno what Teuk did to piss off that journalist why that article popped up all of a sudden, but damn. Somebody's out for blood. But yeah, that Radio Star incident still concerns me for what it implies about group dynamics. If it were just a harmless joke or well-intentioned advice that got lost in translation, Kyuhyun probably wouldn't have reacted the way he did. Hear, hear! Fans can't keep pretending everything was always sunshine and rainbows between them when Kyuhyun has been pretty damn blunt on multiple occasions about how badly Leeteuk (and most of the others) treated him at first. And y'know, at this point, I dunno if I'd even say Leeteuk is a good leader. I think he tries to be a good leader, but he has serious personal issues that hinder his judgement and hurt his relationships with the other members. He can be petty, short-tempered, he's deeply depressed and terribly insecure, and from the very beginning all that's influenced how he interacts with Kyuhyun in particular. And I really do think he cares about Kyuhyun now, but the Radio Star incident showed that Leeteuk's insecurities are still there, still pitting him against Kyuhyun in his mind. A good leader should not be ruled by their insecurities like that. I also gotta wonder how effective Leeteuk can possibly be at resolving conflicts and fostering healthy communication between other members of the group, which would be important skills for the leader of a particularly large, rowdy group to have. For example, I think about how blind-sided they were by Han Geng leaving and wonder, how the fuck did they not see that coming? It only makes sense if they didn't know he was suicidal, or the extent to which his health was declining, which suggests a fucking critical failure of communication. And dear god, do I hope they've all learned from it... To be fair to Teuk, I do think he's chilled out a bit post-military, but yeah, he definitely has his favorites and it shows. And I dunno if there's any way to fix that or make it less obvious at this point, because the boundary between professional and personal matters has gotten so thoroughly blurred in SuJu. It's both a blessing and a curse, really; the favoritism is just part of the curse.

Now, that just pisses me off. They were told multiple times that he wasn't signing autographs and that he wanted to be left alone. He was at school, taking care of his own personal business, not working, he didn't owe them his time or attention in that situation. And by being there those fans were disruspting his education and everyone else's and making the fandom look bad and just generally being dicks. Not cool.

Well, crap. So much for 8jib. If this is true, we may not get another Korean album from the main group until after all the '86 boys are back. Depending on when they all enlist, that could be 2-3 years from now, right? And that's assuming they don't just wait for everyone to finish military/public service, cuz by the time all the '86 boys are back... it'll be Kyu's turn. That's 4-5 years minimum if they wait for everyone, and assuming everyone enlists rather promptly. Yup, they should've just gone all at once, or in a couple batches. And it's true, the attitude toward India implied in the initial descriptions of the show is problematic, the show's content could turn out to be horribly problematic, and many fans' reactions - "Don't go, there's ebola!" wtf really people- have been problematic. But ... uuuuuuugh. Why couldn't Kyuline just do a show together in Korea? Just give them their own mini-bar and a karaoke machine and film the ensuing shenanigans or something like that. ... On a happier note, he looked extra fine after the press call. Blue really is his color. And that hair. So nice.

Sooooo, thoughts on the new variety show that's taking Kyuline to India? If the producers and writers show some respect and do their research and the idols involved go with open minds, I think it could be good. Certainly an eye-opener for everyone involved. But I've got concerns... I'd like to think that Kyuhyun can handle this, that he's kind enough, sensible enough, willing to respect other people's customs and perspectives. But what if he slips up and accidentally says or does something offensive? Or what if he's not as open-minded as would be ideal? And I really don't know the other idols involved well enough to get my hopes up too high. What about Radio Star? Still not my favorite show, but seeing what wonders it's done for him and how much he seems to enjoy it now... I used to think he should leave the show ASAP. Now I'm not so sure, especially if he leaves it for a potentially offensive potential flop of a show. There's also the issue of Robin Hood????? NEVER MIND, if filming's only February 1-6, he should be fine I dunno, guys. This could be really great, or really awful.

Oh wow, that was lovely. Nothing showy or jaw-dropping, but it's soft and simple and just plain sweet and his voice was still so, so beautiful back then. Lawd, honey, just please don't ever wear socks with those sandals. Or, uh, wear that shirt again at all. Also, wow. I get that idols are basically never as pale in real life as they look in official/fantaken photos, MVs, ads, SNS posts, etc., but that pic in particular reminds me how frequently and thoroughly Kyuhyun in particular gets whitewashed. It actually feels weird, seeing something closer to his real skin tone. And he ain't even that tan! He just gets bleached in Photoshop that freaking much.

Y'know, if anyone told me four years ago that Kyuhyun would act like that on stage one day, I would've laughed. And probably not believed them. Gotta admit, there are days I still dunno how to feel about the difference. It is kinda hilarious, though. Didn't even noticed until you pointed it out... but dammit... Hear, hear. There's just no justification for the prolonged grudge and nastiness against them, especially since it's not like Only13's original fears that HenMi were there to replace someone ever turned out to be true. No one got kicked out of SuJu to make room for them; Geng and Kibum left for their own reasons. Although it'd be nice to know a little more about what Kibum's reasons were exactly? And wtf has he even been up to lately anyways???

I'm doing alright. It's been cold as balls here, too -- before Christmas it was oddly warm, so the contrast makes it even more miserable.
