Gaon doesn't factor in iTunes, only Korean domestic music providers like Melon. It's pretty hard for international fans to help out with digital sales, actually. Inkigayo weighs digital sales pretty heavily (55%)...but you don't even have to perform on it to win, so that one's going to be a bit hard for GFriend to get. I think their chances are highest on Show Champion, MCountdown, and Music Bank.

Let me clarify some things about The Show, in case anyone's curious. Unlike all of the other Korean music shows, MTV The Show hardly takes into account digital sales (which are GFriend's greatest strength). The artist that wins is the artist that has the biggest fanbase (AKA boy groups 99% of the time). Usually, the artist that wins the China voting is the artist that wins the entire thing, because those points count for at least 40% of the total score. For example, during BTS's "I Need U" promotions, their biggest competitor on The Show was not EXID with "Ah Yeah" but Uniq. TL;DR: Buddies should not be concentrating on The Show but instead focusing their efforts on the music shows where the girls are more likely to win (Show Champion, MCountdown...etc.)

The 2015 Gaon year-end digital chart shows that I Need U has thus far accumulated 617,193 downloads in total, though? Or do you mean something else by "charted downloads"?
