I agree; the main couple is cute but the guy's forceful attitude doesn't sit well with me i find their dynamics cuter off-screen, when Johny's attitude towards Zhou Zhou's softer (it's honestly so cute); and it's rumored one of them's bi/gay irl? i'd put my bet on Johny if there has to be only one I actually think they have really good chemistry off-screen--they have different dynamics than the main couple, but they sort of give off a more romantic vibe? (legit tho i was surprised to see them off-screen) the main couple gives off a really playful vibe even when off-screen, but the sub-couple seems a lot less awkward off-screen (than they were on-screen) and i sort of feel that the awkwardness stems from attraction? and when you go to videos of them, chinese netizens even comment that they seem "more real" than the main couple (which is saying something, and I agree with them) and in regards to their proclaimed straightness... ^to post the vid instead of the link copy the url at the top of the screen instead of the "share" function on youtube:)

Wow. I'm blown away by all these fan theories gay-themed or not the whole trilogy (the first 2 parts at least)'s been beautifully made and so,so, deep. Firstly i apologize for making you (and probably many other people) uncomfortable, but i gotta disagree with your analogy--because, although both "queer" and the n-word have been used specifically as insults, "queer" has been reclaimed by many people (including academics). I acknowledge that it may still be used as an insult, but principally every word can be an insult if the speaker means harm. Not to say that the word does not still carry its historically hurtful message, but there is a thing called Queer Theory in the feminist academic sphere, which basically questions (queers) every normalized binary/categorization, including homosexuality. It's definitely relevant and important to activism, so i wouldn't say "queer" as a word/concept still has the same connotation in general. But I'll refrain from using the word in an off-hand way, because I realize that it has made people uncomfortable. I havent been into kpop for that long, but I'm so glad to hear that you know sometimes I read posts on instagram, twitter etc that say getting into kpop changed their views about what a good guy is, and I'm happy about that because even though idols exist in pretty special circumstances (what with all the fanservice and the skinship), they represent a more liberal masculinity? like they detour from hegemonic masculinities quite a bit, and I think it's really important and healthy for everyone, but especially guys, to be encouraged to show affection to each other, and to embrace femininity in general and maybe that's why I like BTS so much--they push boundaries

That's interesting coz as a fan who's only been with them since debut, the relationship between Vernon and Seungkwan never stood out for me; like I could tell they're generally all very close but i've never seen them in that light maybe partly because they're underage, and also they don't give off a more-than-platonic vibe (to me), but the gifs and vid show how touchy they actually were xd in general i feel like Seventeen's toned down quite a bit on their homoeroticness (with a few promoted ships going at it ofc), and although I've heard of people shipping Vernon and Seungkwan i just dismissed it, so it surprised me a bit to see how Seungkwan was predebut Also S.Coups seems to love shipping, regardless of if himself is involved xd (and in the vid the staff member was calling him out for it i wonder why )

Tbh I still think V's gay the only thing that's stopping me from being 100% certain of my gaydar is how comfortable he seems when he says he wants many children (not that same-sex couples cannot have children but considering that he grew up in Korea hmm). Ken and Jin are getting cuter and cuter tbh i've never seen Jin this cutesy with his members; he's cute on his own ofc but iit's my first time seeing him biting shoulders, sleeping in laps, and having these cheeky expressions in general (could also do with him being the oldest in Bangtan but u know, it's cute) And I've always thought Mingyu's reaction (his smirk) in that vid is curious; i mean it's a "bish please" smirk but i can't tell why he might have that reaction xd (especially if we speak in non-shipping terms)
