It seems like B.I is too caught up to realize it; or is learning the hard way of his weaknesses. I'm sideeyeing the people around him that are not throwing this to his face. Its his biggest and for me his only fault. Fix that and it will in a way leak into his work and 'upgrade' it in a way. Music feeds on the musicians life. -
I actually don't think it's about genre as much as replicating the image GD and BB have as well as (and most importantly) their success. Yes, he labels ikon as a hip hop group but not because he constricts them to be rather than that's how they became. Plus, hip hop/ rnb seems to be what the members in total barring the new ones are into from B.I's old school sound of hip hop to Jinny and junhoe's rnb and Bobby's flashy, current hip hop/rap. He doesn't bat an eye at their non hip hop song choices. Just as he didn't of BB's in their gradual shift from hip hop to a more pop/techno-ish? sound. As long as it works and brings in money ... *insert YG's creepy smile* I agree with the focus on this show. It asserts one of the shows purposes as a promotional tactic first rather than good change for Ikon

I think YG needs to stop that tbh. I actually think everyone around him needs to stop with that shit. I was actually a little dissapointed in tablo when he mentioned how when the time comes B.I will have big shoes to fill but luckily: him and GD wear the same size. Like out of everyone i expected Tablo to be the person to guide B.I into his own path without wearing some second hand (albeit beautiful) pair of shoes. B.I can afford (he has the talent) to wear his own pair. Tablo needs to be clear about this because more than anything from the way he talks about B.I it seems like they have this mentor student relationship. He needs to let B.I know that he is in a way too elementary in his musicality and that he needs to experience and let go of all this damn burden he forces himself to put up with ... its mentally wearing him down and musically constricting him.

Rather than lacking in terms of writing lyrics (because i think he is a good writer) he lacks content to write about. I am still waiting for him to get alot more intrecet with his sound or aesthetic as well. I actually think that B.I doesn't have a life besides yg and ikon. His thoughts are consumed by this area of his life and so hes lacking substance that can make him grow as a person and musician. He probably thought being concentrated on debuting since 14 and setting his complete and total devotion to it would suffice but he is not living nor is he open to things around him that fall outside of the former. Of course i have no actual knowledge of his life but to me this is how B.I stands when i watch ikon. Thats the sort of commentary that sems to pop up with him if i had to make one

No i absolutley (x2) agree with you. I think i mentioned GD in terms of and exclusivley his success (which is i guess the measure by which any of YG's junior teams are to be measured by and hopefully surpass -with all do respect to BB). IMO, The key to ikon being huge (and they do have the potential) has a lot to do with B.I's musical interpretation and as of now i feel like he is lacking in vision and worldly experience. His aesthetic is a little infantile. However, once he realizes theres so much more to this I don't think hell be unstopable.

Na, I don't agree with that part. I think when it's practice or work time he's pretty much an old fart (which to a point he has to be) but the guy outside of those situations is a derp (unreleased cuts vouch for the unfortuanate later). M&M carries his depression state that he's going through because well of everything about smtm and the old members being on the line, dealing with new members; his chores etc.; that's just his state of mind we can't do much about him being more suceptible/sensitive to such thngs. I do agree with him learning to have fun and enjoy the PROCESS of making music though. He needs to let go of this constant worry of him and his members debuting. Hopefully that subsides once they debut. I still think B.I needs a wider vision for ikon; he needs to be more exposed to sounds, culture etc. whatever it is.

Only B.I's team is left and those are remarks that can fit into their song choice and the issues they had ... i don't see how they can apply for the dance. Plus it looks like Bobbys team won and B.I is again going through struggles with himself considering he's refusing to take considerations because he has an idea set in his mind and can't deviate as with the lee hi and his teams situation about their song choice. Ugghhh i guess we'll see. This kid cant seem to catch a break. I actually think B.I is too constricted in the world hes living in, it seems to me sometimes that hes not exposed or is closed off to things beyond yg's wall. Its not helping him grow at all and hes slowly being shown that. Someone needs to shake him up and tell him to open his eyes there is so much out there that can make him into a great artist so to speak. For me this is where he lacks in comparision to GD. GD always had a future vision about him. Thats the secret to his success.

Wasn't there a trans on how this isn't actually a physical elimination but the results of this round shook the group? I can't with this shit. What could have possibly happened so that these boys would be sobbing in this way other than an original Team B member actual elimination.

But seriously lol at how hard that Lee Hi and B.I SHIP sunk. Like all she did in this episode is express her frustration and her worry and her unhappiness with the vocals, song choice … everything (I wouldn’t have blamed her until I heard snippets of B.I’s re-arrangement of the song; it wasn't bad and you get plus points for even attempting that train wreck).

Just watched the raw cut: a) i don't know what they were saying but b.i's team had so much tension and yea believe it or not i think let it go is actually gonna work from the snippets heard. b) jinhwans team was overall better than Bobby's IMO it was an allaround performance in terms of delivery c) Bobbys team was well bobbys team (he was on fucking point). Hannas voice is great btw, she seemed a little flustered though (which i get because of her inexperience) d) next episode looks roughhhhh ... like rough

What you talking about those songs are exactly what youd find on the average american teenagers playlist (not that i believe in this generalization but yea plausible). B.I. should stop with his song picks like i said let it go better be cut down remixed to death and reborn again as a flawless composition.

I thought this show was here to improve on TB weaknesses and that has long been vocals. I understand the other factors and Iam in no way dimissing them, i just think they shouldnt be selective specially about the vocal factor.

Maybe but Iam inclined to not think so, i have yet to see a dance performance from them that warrants that response other than those that were song based. Today it was Jinhwans team for me though. It fit all the criterias from team work, presence and vocals overall. But like always they get the short hand /sigh/ (iam kind of happy san e called jinny out on his vocals though....although i don't know what he can do about it since its his vocal texture) The girls addition to both performances was great.

To what end Vocals is why they are doing this fucking show though. Like Jinnys team had good teamwork and presence and vocals as well (although i agree with san e comment on jinnys vocals)

The previews had comments on being stiff and the performances being okay but not that good from the judges if those weren't mentioned then B.I's team is a gonner for this round.

I see you all with words dripping of some level of suffering/desperation/care. I can't do that much but I do think the critical aspect of this fandom ... at least on OH is commendable. I mean I still love to read input and add as well when it comes to stuff like performances or member decisions and actions (those prevalent to the group and their work at the most).
