Because the moment I say something about someone who isn't Korean wearing an Asian garb but not knowing what it means, it gets dismissed by my fellow black people all the time. So until it becomes even, I don't really care to take part in the entire cultural appropriation fiasco. I barely paid attention to UPRS but I could easily compare her to some people who go out of their way to look Asian for a gimmick. But I won't. I'll end the argument here. Lol

We're specifically talking about extremists. I'm not gonna piss myself over Koreans liking hip hop but if they say something messed up, yes they need to be educated. So yes I will proudly claim I'm black and Korean and I think certain people like to play the victim card and act overly sensitive about most things considered "appropriation".

I'm black and Korean, not once have I seen these pressed fans drag Nicki Minaj for completely stealing Japanese culture (and the ones who do it on tumblr get called cute all the time) but if anyone else does anything from black culture it's a problem. That's all I have to say.

So I let my aunt listen to BlackPink and she said "they all sound really foreign, are these American girls singing in Korean?" then she said only one of them (Jisoo) sounded Korean XD I explained that they all grew up abroad and she said "ahh this makes sense."

It's possible because of a few reasons. People are just used to people not being able to win for debut but there are some exceptions to that rule.

Speaking of little kids, my cousin was 5 when That XX came out, so when I showed her the MVs I didn't say it was Jennie because I didn't think she would remember, but she looked at me and started singing the chorus part of that xx then asked "is it her? that girl? she got even prettier!" lmao

Honestly I don't believe there never was a leader... especially because they always make Jennie speak, or speak first? I think YG just decided against a leader because he felt it was more natural and more fitting internationally (as Korea is the only country still really stuck on having a leader). I believe Jennie is the mother of the group and they all kind of depend on her from the looks of it already lol.
