No one is around? Anyway, I've just watched Evergreen a few more times and just realised that I have not given the performers enough credit... Firstly, the choreography is good. These boys have always been awesome with their choreography but in this PV I love the fact that they are playing even more with formation - in their last PV it made sense for Yuta to be centre and front, but now it's Reo centre, Hayato centre...not to mention the switching of places all around in the PV. I think when it comes to choreography GENE's strongest points are their fluidity of formation and how their choreography is so...energetic, being that these guys have age on their side. Evergreen is a wonderful song, I love love love the bridge part at 3:00. Not to mention in the PV Ryota looks so effing cute round min 3:00-ish. And also just an observation on Hayato (because yes he's my biggest bias). I think ever since he started training under King Charles, his dance moves are now more swift and clean. Hayato has never been the cleanest dancer of the bunch (I remember always comparing him to Alan), but ever since taking up footworking more seriously he now dances with less wasteful steps (and movements). The dance instrumental break before the last chorus really brought home this point to me. Still hoping the vocalists will get more songs that will challenge their skills though...

Hello guys, I haven't posted in this thread...for like a month now XDD Life happened XD Anyway, just a quick post because my head is overflowing with thoughts of EVERGREEN; I think this single incorporates the strongest elements from their last two singles, AWY and SIL. The freshness, laidback-ness of AWY, and the edginess and dance-tune of SIL are both strong in EVERGREEN. If this single, and the last two singles are any indication of their future music, I am excited for their future releases. Music-wise, I am satistied. (although vocal-wise is a different story, will discuss that below) OMG THE PV YASSSS. Alan looks gorgeous as always. I like Ryuto's hair style, he's so cute <3 Hayato is almost like a different person from when I first became his fan roughly one year ago...His face has matured gorgeously. I feel like a proud parent watching him grow XDD I like the instrumental-dance break in at the end - the choreography seems very EXILE-ish, and Hayato at center *____* Some rambling thoughts: I feel, with this PV and the song, it is almost obvious that the management is putting lots of attention on the performers, with their aim to let the performers be the strongest unit that moves GENE forward. I have nothing against this honestly, as GENE's performers has always been brilliant, but if we were to look at Sandaime and EXILE, the vocalists has always, first and foremost, been the ultimate focus of the group. I've always felt strongly that if GENE want to be bigger, focus must be pushed more onto the vocalists, because ultimately, most people and the general public still look at vocalists first and foremost when it comes to liking a group/ not. However I am just...a bit disappointed with the song in terms of vocals - I'm really liking Evergreen, but at the same time I want GENE songs to be more vocally-challenging. More vocally-challenging in a way that will make the people of all walks of life take notice of GENE. Ryota and Ryuto are talented vocalists, and it is a shame they are not given songs that can stretch their potential.

I see these has not been posted yet; Damn Kenchi looks goooooooooooooood. Never really liked him as a blond, but here he looks good! Anyway I am late but Jounetsu no Hana is good! I just feel, at times, this song is kinda a bit lackluster to be a single title track. I don't know how to explain it, but NEW HORIZON was kinda generic, but totally wins to me because of the depth of emotion I felt in the song. I think GENE are number one weekly? Congratulations to the boys! Also, my album finally arrived two days ago and I've been spinning it non stop. Album is glorious! I don't know how to say this, but I feel in comparison to their first album this album is brimming with character and personality, the first album seems almost bland in comparison. I guess it's the addition of the 7 new songs, and it is in some of the new songs where we see more experimentation lacking elsewhere. Most of the new songs to me are better than their B-sides, which is saying a lot XDD I wonder what are everyone's favourite songs? Mine are: SIL, Everlasting, Higher, Awy, My only love, Pump it, Revolver, Think of you and NLYG. My absolute, absolute favourite from the new song is Think of you though *__* If there is one thing I must complain about the album it is the size of it and how it cannot fit into my CD box.........

Hayato will never be the most moteru in a group that have Alan, Ryota and Reo XDDDD I agree with Alan being the most recognisable out of all the group. Before I became a GENE fan whenever I think about GENE I automatically think "Alan". It helped that he usually has the most dominant positions in GENE's early PVs and advertisements, and that he has such a unique face =D Great sales for GENE EX!! and looking forward to Music Station as well :3 The choreography for SIL in their recent CDTV perf has changed quite a bit, I am curious as to whether they will be doing Music Japan's SIL or CDTV's SIL choreography for their upcoming Music Station perf. Next Friday cannot wait!! My Only Love is good, I agree!! The other ones I like from their previews so far are Think of you, Pump It (OMG THIS SONG IS SO GOOD), Everlasting (the cheeky intro XD) They are stretching their capabilities in this album so far, music-wise. Ohhhhh I have seen his mother before, in the same shuukan you showed :3 When I first became a GENE fan I went on a crazy shuukan hunting mission tehehe I loved seeing how awkward Hayato was when he gave the merch to his mother, and Reo was like "Hayato's mother, Hayato's mother" to the camera XD. I think she looks like a strict mother, and even though I haven't seen Hayato's father, I think Hayato takes a lot of his looks after his mother. Ahhhhh past shuukan episodes. I remember dearly the glorious time when Hayato was this chubby: Hayato can you plz be chubby again kthx. Seriously his cheeks lured me so much into making him my favourite performer (well, his dancing skills and personality too, but we'll put those aside).

Great sales from the boys so far imo, the 1st and 2nd day sales for SIL is roughly the same for their first week sales for AWY, no? I think AWY had like...45k - 50k from their first week. Correct me if I'm wrong! Solid single. The CD+DVD cover is really nice in person :3 SIL totally rocks, and STORY is a nice coupling song, although right now I'm all about SIL XD. I think Ryuto and Ryota's english have improved a lot in AWY English Version :3 Also....SIL's instrumental is beautiful. I really enjoyed the layering and how the song builds up, as an instrumental it feels as if it has a life of it's own, which I don't really expect in instrumentals. Their sound is maturing. AWY and SIL have more adult vibes than their first few singles. Excited for their album now, and am wondering how their sound will mature in the album.

Reo's and Hayato's dance solos are like...complete opposites to me. I thought Reo's dance was elegant at times, while Hayato's was...explosive XD For some reason watching Hayato dance makes me feel tired in the leg XD I am certainly liking how Yuta dances more and more. ^ Thank you!! Ohhh, I love the choreography, great stuff. A bit of Animal taste in there, along with the choregraphy they did for the Winter FNS collab with Akiko Wada. It's obvious from the small interview beforehand they are so excited for this single, it shows on their faces XD I am just...not so convinced with how the vocalists did the chorus (I am aware so far I am the only one complaining XD). They could have used Ryota to make sure the "Sing it Loud" parts in the chorus were stronger instead of relying on backing tracks. Also, I wished Ryota would use his voice even more in the "kikaseteyo" part. But still this is just the first perf of SiL we have seen (and also the quality in the vid do not allow for much fair vocal analysis), hopefully in their Music Japan perf we will get a better and clearer perf. Just an observation: Yuta dancing in front and middle is glorious I am so happy for Yuta fans that he is in the front, they finally get to see their sweetheart rock it out at the front XD Happy day for GENE media today! Apparently here there are 3 versions of each, one of those have the survival footage as well? 12980 yen for DVD box...and not to mention shipping....bye bye money XD
