Tbh, I'm not sure if I should answer anymore... That's like saying Dahyun was a secret trainee ^^' I think that user has very little idea about JYPE history and just says random, made up, things...
-
CL used to train at JYP before moving to YG. GD was actually an SM trainee at first... EDIT: Oh Mone was at SM at first, then JYP. There aren't that many examples, but it exists^^
-
I stand corrected then, I don't follow boy groups as closely... but one in 39(?) People who debuted since 2010. Chances are becoming increasingly low for an unknown trainee to debut, but it's not zero, I agree.

Her name is Jia Yu... I think you are mistaking what I say, of course, the 6mix members were known better than all the other trainees who participated in Sixteen. But that by far doesn't mean the other trainees were secret trainees. A secret trainee is someone like RV Joy. Even when they teased her, most people didn't know her and they had to really dig to find her real name. That did not happen for Sixteen. Before Sixteen started, we had one girl revealed everyday, and people were guessing who would be next, not wondering who would be next... And no lineup is fixed yet, nobody pretended that. There are some members who seem to be on lock, that's all. It's all assumptions anyway, as far as I know, nobody in this thread works for JYPE and has insider infos. Again you keep using Sixteen as an example, well everybody was sure all 5 remaining 6mix girls would definitely be in, yet Minyoung didn't make it. And yeah, there will be people who won't like the final lineup and would have prefered this or that girl, but JYPE is a business, they make business decisions based on what will work for the majority. You might not like every member, but if that one member you love is in, they know you will follow the group regardless. That's all they need... As for the foreigners being bashed... lel? Sana/Momo/Mina/Tzuyu's Korean fans outweigh the people who hate them for not being Korean by A LOT. It will be the same for this group, don't blindly trust comments of a few bored high schoolers who upvote each other, it doesn't reflect what the GP will think... Oh and you might want to look up "JYP sisters" if you think Fei was unknown prior to Miss A's debut. Again, we're not talking Somi fame, we're talking about people knowing there is a Chinese trainee in JYP called Fei Fei before Miss A debuted:

Ehm... All the trainees who participated in Sixteen season 1 were known prior to the show. They had all done showcases before. Dahyun had a big appearance in Got7 MV, Momo was in Got7 MVs and Wooyoung's MV... Not all were known very well, like birthyear and all that, but yeah, there was no "secret trainee". Tzuyu was suspected to have left but then she was on the show. The surprise came rather from it being different trainees than expected, than from unknown trainees being on the survival show. Also during the show "6mix" members were expected to be in the lineup (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Sana who was added later), Momo was expected to be in (and everybody was shocked and didn't understand the elimination...), Dahyun was expected to make the lineup (from the big pre-debut exposure), Chaeyoung almost immediately became an ace and stayed it throughout the show (iirc she spent the longest time in Major), Mina and Tzuyu were really the 2 nobody had seen coming and who profited the most from the survival show. Without Sixteen, it didn't look like JYPE staff would have picked them as members. Same goes for Miss A btw, Fei and Jia were known, they had done some pre-debut activities in China with Hyelim. Suzy being added to them was known pre-debut too, the surprise was Min (and she too was a known trainee...) JYPE has the trainee showcases now, and used to have a habit of introducing trainee bits by bits in senior MVs or even through their own activities (Jihyo, Nayeon and Jeongyeon did CFs and even a fashion show pre-debut...). In recent history, I don't think there has been a debut where there was a complete secret trainee nobody had heard of at the time of debut...

I know the source saying she's a 05 liner, it initially also said Gyujin was 07 liner, but both are wrong. Trainees are always in age order in the poster, and Minji is clearly between 04 liners: Yuna A., Yunjin, Hanyu, Juna, Gyehun and Zi Hao are all born in 2004. If she was a 05 liner, she should be after Gyujin but before Zi Hao...
-
I disagree with a lot of things, 85%+ chances for 10 girls is a LOT, especially considering we don't know if JYPE is aiming for a smaller of a bigger group... Also the last part got me curious: Why is Minji too young when Yunjin and Yuna A. are possible? All 3 of them are 2004 liners...

Okay we get it, you guys are all saying Eunsoo lacks talent and Sieun is a good dancer, but both girls got similar comments from showcases, that they need to train harder in singing and dancing and not just acting... Eunsoo is apparently a better vocalist while Sieun seems to be a better dancer. Other than the short (and slightly weird) Flamenco dance from Eunsoo, we don't know what she can do, while Sieun has a ton of singing videos + a short dance practice video. Let's not push one girl more than the other based on skill when one girl just has more material than the other...

I also believe the "ex-YG trainee" will go to Jinny. Funny cause Seoyoung trained there like 7 years and Jinny only for half of that period... If there are only 6 Korean girls in the final lineup, there won't be 2 spots for the same "story", so hopefully Seoyoung will be able to find a different one...

Miyeon trained super long in YG and it was a surprise when she left. She was in the "pink punk" lineup when they were 7 girls, I love blackpink, but pink punk with Jinny (soon to be in PD48), Hanna (I think she might end up solo or as a musical actress?) and Miyeon would have been sooo amazing...Not sure if she was kicked out or left on her own There were indeed pictures of her dating Jung Jinhyeong shortly after (who wasn't selected as an ikon member during mix and match and left YG as well. He now debuted solo in a small company) Miyeon might be a "new" trainee in Cube, but in YG she was one of the oldest with Jennie. It's not like she is inexperienced and she will probably do great if she becomes leader. Iirc, in Cube, the oldest is often leader (in CLC it was until they switched, in 4minute and Beast too, idk for Pentagon^^'). I think it would be better for Miyeon to be leader so Soyeon doesn't have all the roles in the group. Minnie would be a great pick too, but if her Korean is not that fluent yet, it could be hard on her.

Not really, class 1 was advertised as a possibility for the ones who were eliminated in Idol School to keep training (since they were all no company girls) to debut as Fromis' sister group...

Tbh, poor Natty... Because of her nationality, this probably won't be her show again. It was foreseeable, I wonder why she applied, unless Mnet made all Class 1 girls apply...

Talked about it before... It's all about the format of the show. I'm calling it Sixteen because that's how even JYPE called it, but it could be a show similar to what Stray Kids did, more of a debut documentary, and that would be fine too.But yeah, I am not against a survival show, because it's an opportunity to get to know and see unexpected trainees bloom. Mina or Tzuyu would have probably not been in Twice if not for Sixteen. JYPE staff would have maybe added Jiwon/Chaeyoung/Dahyun/Momo to Nayeon/Jeongyeon/Jihyo/Minyoung/Sana, but Tzuyu and Mina most definitely got their spot thanks to Sixteen.
-
Well... actually, JYPE has "trolled" before. Either we'll get a pretty secure lineup on the showcase, or they'll pull the final lineup from the showcase, which is what they did for "6mix". In August 2014, no girl in the planned lineup did the showcase. I have feeling, the August showcase might show us who is not in the final lineup for the group/Sixteen2, rather than who made it. After 4 (if not 5) high profile girls left, they could keep the secret of the final lineup until the teasing if they wanted to... Time wise it could fit, PD48 will probably finish towards the end of August/early September, so Sixteen 2 could start airing in September/early October to finish before the end of 2018, aiming for a debut in the first quarter of 2019. Assuming JYP wants to go with Mnet, Mnet probably doesn't want a show competing with PD48 while it's airing...

The positions are not really a complete mystery, some seem pretty clear: - Vocal line: Miyeon and Minnie - Rap: Soyeon - Dance line: Soojin and Yuqi I'm not sure about Shuhua yet^^' I wish they didn't zoom in on Minnie's face so much in the teasers :( But all the members are so pretty

Tbh, this thread has easy negs, so when it comes to announcing something like "Yejin, Hanseol, Sunmin, Mashiro and Chaeryeong have left according to DC" before you can back it up with an IG account or something of the sort, I'd rather pass ^^' I've announced other rumors from DC, or llll did, that are more positive, and somehow these get completely ignored. Like the 3 winners from the gg audition, or the rumored 96 liner who is both a visual and main vocal and who is from Russia (which if she is real, would probably be better suited as a soloist than a member of this group, but you never know. There is Irene in RV and she doesn't especially stand out because of her age)
-
Yes, 3 girls won the huge gg audition that took place last year, so they're theoretical new trainees as much as Hyewon and Eunjin
-
Wow... So Chaeryeong left JYP and Chaeyeon left WM at the same time...? I wonder what happened

Welp... Guess who's picture we got today: The last one is interesting though, who's the girl in the back? Soyeon?

It's nice but I agree about her sounding too "clean". She didn't add much of herself to the cover, which is a shame. She looks like Gfriend's 7th member. She would fit right in, she gives me Yerin, SinB and Yuju vibes^^ If you told me she is a Source Music trainee, I wouldn't doubt it.

Seriously though, that Chaeryeong is following Eunsuh, Sunmin, Hanseol, Mashiro, Yejin and "Chaeyeon", and is only being followed back by the Chaeyeon account that looks fishy. You're all jumping to conclusions to me... As for Sixteen 2, I made this: Even IF Chaeryeong left and excluding 2006 liners, there are still more than enough girls tbh...
-
Well... not to announce the bad news, but that's we said about Chaeyeon, Natty, Eunsuh, Chaeryeong... That there would be room for them in the next group... Truth is the girls who won't make this lineup (excluding maybe 2004 liners and younger if they don't participate in Sixteen2) will probably switch companies for better opportunities. Shortly after the survival ends, the girls who almost made the lineup will be sought after by other companies, because they will bring media coverage and a following to their group. While JYP will keep on recruiting for a new group to debut in 3 years+, and before long, the "young" girls will be part of the older ones, who's spot are threatened by the younger girls who have more room to improve than them. And the survival hype will be completely gone for them...
-
Sixteen 2 has not been confirmed, they just discussed it as a plan in the investor relations. I saw people saying it's for the 2nd half of 2018. I personally just read about them announcing that the next "Twice" from "Sixteen2" will debut in 2019. The survival could be in 2019 and debut late 2019 for all I know. But yeah, I don't know Korean enough to read the whole thing, I just looked for the keyword "Sixteen" and looked what it says around it... ^^'
