I think I've been able to narrow down my lineup to 7 members (sort of ^^'): 1. Yeji (leader and main dancer) 2. Somi (sub-vocal and lead rapper, well probably center too, but I like the idea of rotating centers more...) 3. Lily (main vocal) 4. Haewon or Jisu (lead vocal, I really can't pick one... Haewon is growing a lot on me these days and Jisu is so promising.) 5. Rhujin (main rapper) 6. Chaeryung or Mako (lead dancer, sub-vocal. Chaeryung is the logical choice, but I've always had a soft spot for Mako...) 7. Yuna S. or Eunsoo (visual, sub-vocal. I prefer Eunsoo but Yuna might be more free to focus on the group than Eunsoo.) I know "lead dancer" doesn't really exist, but in Twice there Momo and Mina, it's sort of the same idea here.

Totally agree, it's not the concept that matters but the execution.

They only passed the first round "1차 합격", since there never was a confirmation that they passed anything further, I don't think they became trainees. When they passed the final audition, it says "최종 합격", like here:

Chungha debuted in a group... It was just a short-lived one. Even if Lily wants to be solo, she is 15, debuting in a group can only help her get confident on stage, get experience and she can debut solo later on. If JYPE doesn't let her go solo while being in the group, and not that I wish for the group to fall for the 7 year curse, but latest when she turns 23 she will be able to go solo (and 23 is still so young... some gg members only debut at 23)

Has anyone noticed Yejin's last profile pic? It's from their showcase/showcase photoshoot: You can see Eunsoo in the background^^

Why can't Lily be friends with Korean members? Plus there is Somi who speaks english and can help translate/explain things to her... If there is no international trainee who fits in the group (based on skill or concept...), it's fine if only Koreans (or foreigners with Korean parents) debut... If Jia Yu or Mako make the lineup it will be nice, but it will also be if they don't. Tbh, in a smaller lineup, Yeji, Chaeryung, Rhujin and Somi are a strong dance line as it it, I'm not sure there is a need for Mako or Jia Yu who are also mainly dancers...

The oldest is a 97 liner and the youngest a 00 liner, they are young but not that much compared to other groups debuting. Next year, all of them will be 20 (Korean age).Nothing wrong with it btw, it's probably one of the reasonsbfor their girl crush concept, they might even go for something more sexy for their comeback.

I'm really thankful for the updates, but may I ask why you post only one picture per post?^^'

They sound so good together, every cover so far has been amazing... Such a shame so few people care. The view count is making me sad :((( The girls have to start from scratch, I hope they can fight through it and find their audience because they definitely deserve it. Going down the more indie route and becoming "artists not idols" can pay off in the long run. That or Suji/Jane/Yujin join Khan, they create a one-group agency of their own with a trustworthy manager and try a makestar project (though I hate makestar projects or any other funding platform, in their case, it's close to the only solution I can think of...) Euna, Suji and Minjoo have a nice public recognition from all the survival shows they have been in, with a LOT of motivation and hard work, they could even land on some variety shows, which is more than some rookies achieve. The problem is mostly that some of them are already signed individually... I'm just gonna dream on my own a bit more

As Korean trainee signed in Yuehua, only know Kim Si Hyun from PD101 S1, not even sure if she is still there...

I wonder... Sure Soyeon didn't make IOI and Soomin didn't win Kpop Star, but I can't help comparing to Somi. Somi's fans complain about her lack of music activities, but she grew her fanbase steadily with all her variety shows and CFs. Soyeon and Soomin would probably not be as big, but we could be a step further... We could have 2 big names to ensure public interest, Sujin/Haerin/Bowon should have been booked to appear in CFs or at least in MVs of other groups with them getting that much spotlight on Mixnine (I know Mixnine flopped, but they should still have been able to work on that bit of interest to give them jobs...). I mean Sujin and Haerin were in every single "top visuals of Mixnine" list I saw, and Bowon got into top 18 barely getting spotlight. If that's not interest, I don't know what is...Soyeon, Soomin, Sujin, Haerin and Bowon could carry a looot of popularity pre-debut if Fave knew what they were doing. Having 5 known faces, then adding Minseo and Yujin by showing their pre-debut acting would get people interested. Suhyun, Soeun and Jiyoon would naturally benefit from the interest and with the right spotlight at the right time, not lose out to the rest... But no, instead of using the known names, Fave is pushing the maknae line on social media and leaving out the girls who actually brought fans to the group in the first place :/ Like I said, I love the maknae line, but it truly is Soyeon and Soomin who brought me here, I know it's the same for most people in the thread, so it's frustrating that Fave doesn't understand this is who they should use now in pre-debut time to grow the interest. They're posting on social media like the girls have debuted, but they haven't. Right now, we should see dance and song covers and quirky videos once in a while. You don't get into a music group for pictures and funny videos, music is the first reason. Seeing what they cover and how they cover songs would give a lot of hints about future concept: again, that's how you build a following. Sorry for the rant... But Fave is part of Loen/Kakao M, they have enough funds to do something like Loona. It's incredibly frustrating to know a company has the means to do things, but doesn't. I want the girls to be successful, and I know they have all the talent, visual, fun etc needed to be successful, but if Fave doesn't start playing their cards right, we're just getting Fiestar 2.0: wasted talent.

Well... Fave Sujin got a CF deal thanks to Mixnine, so Ryujin must have definitely received love calls. The offer might not have been interesting enough for JYP to accept, but yeah... Even while being a flop, Mixnine gave an insight on who to watch out for. Rookies are cheaper to book for CF in their early years, but companies who endorse them choose idols with high growth potential. With JYP announcing the next GG, Somi and Ryujin must have definitely received a lot of offers, now is the time before they become too expensive, and I sort of expect the announcement of a lot of endorsements soon after they finalize the lineup. Just like it happened for Twice. They must be making the deals behind the scenes as we speak... Btw, artist contracts are usually 7 years at first, renewals are shorter though

As someone who followed both processes, until G.Idle was announced, besides Minnie and Miyeon's covers once in a while, there wasn't much regarding the group... People didn't even really know who would be in the lineup. Once Fave put their mind to it, hopefully we'll quickly get a lot of wanted material too. But really, for now, even with the selective releases of mostly Jiyoon, Soeun and Sujin, we have been getting a lot more pre-debut material than what was released for "Cube new girlgroup"

I love the idea, they totally should and let the winning girls have some sort of activity or spotlight the others don't have. I'm always in favor of not letting Mnet decide who will win the show with their editing, random luck seems slightly more fair. Imagine the girl who never gets more than a couple seconds in group shots winning the tournament, that would be amazing!

Fave is quite disappointing tbh... They started out great, getting us all to go into detective mode. Then they let Mixnine completely kill their strategy and now it's like they don't know what to do. Mixnine was a bad idea... Feels like they went back on their initial plan because of it. As if something during Mixnine happened and made them doubt what they were going with. Everyone agreed the 11 member lineup was great, regardless of their result on the show. I don't understand why they're not going through with it. Even if they switch out a few members if they need to... I absolutely loved the intro videos G.Idle did so we get to know the members. I would totally be in favor of Fave releasing a video like this every other week for one girl, the next week having video practice and official pictures with profile release and so on. Having a long introduction period so they can finalize whatever they haven't finalized yet while keeping the fans engaged and interested and building up the fandom. Just getting the debut process going! DO YOU READ THIS FAVE? GET THE DEBUT GOING! THE GIRLS ARE AS READY AS THEY CAN BE! They'll learn the rest as they go, on stage... No group debuts perfect, the whole point is to see them grow as they go!

I'm not sure about how well it did in terms of viewers, but it won awards, even Eunsoo won a best new actress award for it. Award winning movies are usually known, even if they didn't necessarily do well in the cinema...? At least that's my perception of it
-
Sieun is as active as Eunsoo with acting, the difference is Eunsoo hit big with her first role, partly because it's easier to stand out when you're in a hit movie with an A-list actor. Sieun has actually done more roles but in dramas that most of the time didn't hit really big, just less luck

Hmm... Not a JYP stan, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but:Wonder Girls (5 members) -> Miss A (4 members) -> 15& (2 members) -> Twice (9 members) 2am (4 members) -> 2pm (7 members) -> Got7 (7 members) -> Day6 (6 members) -> Stray Kids (9 members)-> Boystory (7 members) I don't think "oneday" really counts, 2am and 2pm mostly didn't promote together... The member difference isn't necessarily used to differentiate the groups, concept differences are more important to differentiate. 9 members used to be rare and associated to SNSD ( every group following with 9 members was called out for copying them including Twice), but since Twice's debut, there have been so many groups with to 8 or 9 members, I don't think this group debuting with 9 members would necessarily mean they'd be called a copy of Twice. Especially if they go for a different concept, which we are all expecting...

I'm not sure about my ideal lineup anymore... I think Somi, Yeji, Chaeryeong, Rhujin and Lily have to be in. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the final lineup actually, they really stand out in terms of skills and popularity. Then I really like Jisu, Mako and Eunsoo but I can see them not making it as well. Eunsoo has the highest chance really. Other 3 who would be nice in the lineup are Yuna S., Jia Yu and Haewon. Yuna S. having the biggest chance of making it, but I am curious about Haewon a lot, the showcase comments about were interesting. Then Hyewon, Eunjin and the other 3 audition winners are definitely to watch out for, I just can't rank them in with how little we know. I really like Yunjin too, but her being a 2004 liner, I'd rather they keep her for the next group, so avoiding putting 2004 liners in the survival (if there is one) would be nice. If we imagine a 7 members lineup, I think it's going to be Somi, Rhujin, Chaeryeong, Yeji, Lily, Eunsoo and Yuna S.

I heard the group broke apart after M9, their Twitter got inactive and deleted everything. Chanmi apparently deleted everything related to the group from her IG too...

With people angry at their disbandment, even if Fave cleared up it's not their fault, the girls could get some backlash if it's that close...

I've been wondering too... I hope not. Maroo is a terrible company. The girls would be better off doing all this on their own with online donations...

I don't think they particularly made up anything for the choreo, it just seems to be a trend they picked up. Blackpink did the same (but I guess BP is not exactly an example of being busy with YG denying them their comeback....)

Trying to stay positive, the lack of update could be a sign they're too busy...? At this point I don't know anymore. Damn you Fave for having access to all the resources yet having no clue how to use them... Proof it's not all about having the money but it's a lot about being smart and making good promotional strategies. If a small company like Source could do it, Fave has no excuse...

Okay, now, I would suggest you look up Wonder Girls' Irony MV, or a performance, it's their debut song, and count the members... Wonder Girls was never more than 5 members at a time. Sunye, Sohee, Hyuna and Sunmi were a team, Yeeun was selected as the 5th member and that's how they debuted. Then you are right, Hyuna left for health reasons, and Yubin was added to replace her. While in the US, Sunmi took a hiatus, and Lim was added to replace her. Then Sunye married, Sohee left at the end of her contract, and Sunmi joined the remaining 3 girls back for a band debut...
