Okay, you need to stop talking about Jisu like that right now... You don't know whether she got a nose job or not, or any other plastic surgery, and the bully rumor is something I have only heard from you. A whole lot of trainees have had bully rumors, unfounded, never hurt them. If a random "fan" who doesn't want her in the lineup makes a rumor up, you shouldn't be spreading it... This is ruining someone's reputation and is a punishable offence. Let the poor girl live, she is only a trainee in a big 3 agency and doesn't deserve any slander because she might be taking your fave's spot...

I don't how you can all decide for Eunsoo that she should pursue acting instead of being an idol. If she wanted to be an actress only, she could have just stopped training as an idol. The fact that she is still training is proof enough that being an idol is what she wants. Idol careers are short-lived, she can still be an actress afterwards, I don't see a problem with it. Sieun also started as an actress and decided to sign with JYP so she could try her chances at being an idol, because she wants to sing and dance on stage... I also don't understand the "we haven't seen Lily dance so her spot in the group isn't safe"... Everyone was on the Yejin train without having seen her dance...? (I'm talking about pre-showcase airing) There are a lot of trainees we like for other reasons than their dancing. If Lily can keep up with a choreo, that's enough. Main vocals can't be main dancers, how would they control their breathing? Also if you have doubt about her star power, just look at some Kpop Star performances... She doesn't lack any... Seriously, can we stop dragging the trainees we don't want in the lineup...? They'll have enough haters without us giving them reasons to hate them

I personally always get back to 8 members... I think it would be nice to go for a sub-unit kind of group as well, giving more room for other activities (like acting or solo stuff when one unit only is promoting), so my ideal lineup rn has Somi, Rhujin, Chaeryeong and Yeji (as the dance sub-unit, who could release some more dance heavy songs when together) and Jisu, Lily, Haewon and Eunsoo (as the vocal sub-unit for vocal slayage songs) Together as 8, I think it would be an interesting mix, maybe not as dance oriented as some people hope, but definitely with the ability to bring out their own unique color. Shame because I think Jia Yu/Yuna S would be interesting as well, and I really love Mako, but I have to make the cut somewhere :/

.... Not here to backtrack through that mess really... Tbh, I don't think Mix9 or the Unit took some of the talent pool. PD48 has a 2.5 years contract going on at the end of the show, I think that's the very reason we have so many young contestants on Korean side. Companies basically sent their young trainees they have no plan of debuting in the next 2 years ish. So either they make the final lineup and no risk taken in their own debuting schedule, or the girls don't make it and will still have earned a very valuable experience and a fan following.PD48 also went back to the original concept of the show for the Korean side, which is centered around trainees. I think there is only Kaeun and Gyuri who have actually debuted? The Unit was for debuted idols who never became popular and Mixnine had a lot of rookies participating or debut-ready trainees since the contract was short (until YHS decided he wanted to make it longer so companies would reject the idea and he could get out of debuting the winner since the show flopped badly). I don't think Blockberry would have sent Loona members. But I love that Go Yujin is there, she shot up in the top spot of my favorite list. I wonder if Blockberry would go out of their way and add her to Loona if she gets really popular (like Yeonjung was added to WJSN) or if she'll end up solo (like Chungha)/leader of the next group (like G-Idle Soyeon and probably Somi).

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for that unit debut... Actually even just a song release to support the football team would mad esuper happy (and that considering I always find those releases boring even when done by my favorite groups ^^') It's still the only plausible reason to me as to why the most popular girls (except Sujin) stopped appearing in the pictures on SNS. If it's not the reason, Fave would be disappointing, a lot...

Not to downplay it, but I have seen posts putting down about every potential member ^^' Nose jobs, not enough idol personality, not enough rapping skills, not pretty enough... I also wish people would avoid it, but until the lineup is set, there will be people defending their bias' spot by downplaying the rivals' skill. Would be better to show your bias' skill rather than downplay the other one imo... ^^' Somi being a lot more popular than the rest and controversial (not gonna go back on that, she is just the kind of idol you either love or hate, there isn't much in between from what I can see), there is people in the thread bound to not love her. But if there is one member that is 100% sure at this point, it really is her, people have to live with it or stop following the thread/group...

If they replaced Yujin so fast, they must really want their big group... Now I'm kinda worried, I hope the girls we don't see often, other than Soomin/Soyeon, don't leave... Bowon, Haerin, I hope you stay!! Also not surprised about the rumor that Suhyun needs to do well on PD48 to make the lineup... Definitely my feeling as to why she was the only one participating... And Yerim just fell completely into oblivion...

3 girls from the Seoul audition made it. That's all we know... Jisu and Haewon could be them, I didn't check exactly, but I feel the timing could match?

Nope... Though if JYP goes for the tall classy kind, Doyeon/Lucy would be a nice additions, we have enough trainees as it is ^^'

Ok facts: "No Sana no life" exists since Sixteen, it did not come out of nowhere during Cheer Up Era. Not sure if fans or Sana started it, but both used it so much, no wonder it became well known when Sana's popularity exploded with Shy Shy Shy. And no, Somi's international fanbase is important, but so is Sejeong's. It's not international votes that made Somi win, it's all votes. Somi was the "10th" in Sixteen, the girl everyone expected to make it but ended up not making Twice's lineup. She came into PD101 with that fandom behind her, and it was not made only of ifans.

It depends on groups and company really... For SNSD Yoona has always been center, it's not necessarily about performances, but even looking at group pictures, she almost always stands in the center/front. In SuJu Siwon had that role... While f(x) had 5 member, you'd never find Luna or Amber in the center, if was always Sulli/Krystal/Victoria... PD101 made it more popular and obvious, but it existed before that. SM uses the center position to create the unfamous "cheerleader effect", where the one in the center is the visual that gives the illusion everyone else in the group is a visual...

They're both so pretty! With the other girls, Music Work really has a solid lineup here, I hope they don't mess up^^'

Eunha is ì€í•˜ in Korean, different name. Euna grew up in the US, so she writes her name differently than the usual spelling, I guess she just doesn't follow the traditional romanization, but the english pronounciation is the same. Btw in hangeul, Yoona/Yuna is usually written 윤아 while Euna's spelling is ìœ ë‚˜, it's pronounced the same though, another cute difference^^

I feel like they had a plan but not finalized yet; especially for the lineup, so they decided to do a popularity test with Mixnine (Why Mixnine out of all possible shows...) and introduced more girls than they had originally planned. The girls they expected would do well didn't, and unexpected results came out (Bowon doing better than Haerin/Soeun/Jiyoon, or Yujin and Soyeon not even being selected... Soeun's rank being very low...) Looks like they are rethinking their whole strategy and lineup now, but it's very frustrating for people looking from the outside... Mixnine is definitely not the show they should have used for a popularity test and the result shouldn't be taken that seriously, imo. + The longer they take now to debut the girls, the more their popularity will fade, not that Mixnine brought them that much to being with, but Sujin definitely got some attention, so did Bowon. With Soyeon, Soomin, Bowon and Sujin, you have a core lineup that is solid enough to attract media and fans, Haerin is definitely a safe pick as well, all things considered. Then they can just add anyone, up to 4-5 girls, and they'd still have an amazing lineup, they'll catch up in popularity with the right opportunities.

I guess you never really took an interest for Lily's story to write that^^'Lily's parents support their daughter 300% when she wants something. She wanted to act? They helped her get her first role by going to auditions with her. She wanted to sing: her dad bought a whole van and learned basic sound engineering to help tour with her. Then they let her join Kpop Star as one of the youngest contestants. It's really not Lily's parents standing in the way, it's either JYPE or Lily herself...

Idk for the general public, but DC had been warming up a lot to Haewon, who is considered the prettiest main vocal among the 3 stronger vocalists (so Haewon, Lily and Jisu). So I saw a lot more posts about wanting Yuna and Haewon, some about Lily, but Eunsoo not so much? I've seen negative comments about Jisu as well and I've seen posts happy about the lineup as it is and to just debut these 5. The page has been moving very fast (in adding and mods deleting), it's hard to give a general opinion, it just seems pretty divided, similar to us really... Generally speaking, a lot of people on DC seem to want visuals first and foremost, that's usually why some girls are loved immediately, while others only get a lukewarm response there.

Rise was full Korean though... A idk what generation Korean who lived in Japan, but full Korean nonetheless.

Random stats for people interested (girls who left are included, foreign trainees are included with the Korean ones) Average birth year: - Korean girls: 2000.1 (oldest: 1994 - Lee Kaeun (Pledis) / youngest: 2004 - Lee Yujeong (CNC), Yoon Eunbin (CNC), Kang Damin (Wellmade Yedang), Jang Wonyoung (Starship), Lee Haeun (MNH)) - Japanese girls: 1998.5 (oldest: 1993 - Miyazaki Miho (AKB48) / youngest: 2003 - Sato Minami (AKB48), Chiba Erii (AKB48), Umeyama Cocona (NMB48), Asai Yuka (SKE48)) - All girls : 1999.4 Average "training" period (for the Japanese girls, it's actually how long they have been active rather than training): - Korean girls: 1 year 11 months (longest: 8 years - Park Seoyoung (ex-YG) / shortest: 4 months - Ahn Yewon (YGK+), Choi Yeonsoo (YGK+)) - Japanese girls: 5 years 7 months (longest: 10 years 8 months - Miyazaki Miho (AKB43) / shortest: 1 year 8 months - Sato Minami (AKB48), Asai Nanami (AKB48)) - All girls : 3 years 5 months Average height: - Korean girls: 163,5 (tallest: 172cm - Ahn Yewon (YGK+), Yoon Haesol (MusicWorks) / shortest: 150cm - Alex Christine (ZB Label)) - Japanese girls: 159,6 (tallest: 168cm - Goto Moe (AKB48), Imada Mina (HKT48) / shortest: 149cm - Yakubi Nako (HKT48)) - All girls : 161,9cm ***************** These were posted a while back but where completely burried, links to help you understand your bias rank among the girls: All girls - Only Japanese girls - Only Korean girls (with foreign trainees) My advice when using those is to avoid the "draw" button, you'll get a clearer picture not using it.

Somi, Rhujin, Yeji, Chaeryeong and Jisu went on Day 2. Other trainees were spotted at the Day 1 concert (no pictures though...) But it would have definitely been more confusing if they had all gone together, would have made me lean more toward a survival show where all girls are treated equally. The fact that a lot of girls went but in 2 groups, and one group was photographed while the other went "through the back door" on a different day definitely says a lot... I wonder if Lily/Eunsoo/Sieun and the last ones that were not spotted yet will go today, iirc the concert takes place 3 days in a row in Seoul.

I don't follow boy groups so I can't say much for them, but 6mix appearances together were mostly stolen (with the exception of the catwalk at the Seoul fashion week, but Minyoung wasn't with them when they did that). Fantaken pictures sneakily in front of JYPE (btw, if you wonder, this is actually not allowed, fans are asked to not share what they see at JYPE building, it's mostly ifans who ignore the rule), or stolen from the girls' SNS (pretty much the reason why the girls are not allowed to have it, the infamous 6 girls video when Sana replaced Cecilia made Lena extremely mad, back in the days...) OT5's appearance at Twice's concert feels like an official outing. I wouldn't have been surprised if cameras had been around filming them for the debut documentary/Sixteen introduction. The girls are with a manager, nobody is trying to hide her face with a mask or a hat, they freely let everyone around take pictures and videos, not even running away or rushing through... This was totally a PR move, the question is: for what? I have a feeling they might have been testing the reactions and are closely monitoring what fans are saying right now.

Eehm? Having chubby cheeks like Sohee =/= being chubby. The maknae in this lineup is Chaeryeong btw, I don't see how she is chubby... Also if you want to low key shade the girls, let's not do it in their own thread...
