Jinhwan proved he has leadership qualities. His team's performances has been creative, entertaining, the most cohesive and in overall the best twice in a row. Not to mention EVERYONE shines unlike how Bobby and BI overshadow their teammates. Its noticeable that Bobby and BI arrange performances in a way that places more spotlight on the strongest members. Jinhwan distributes lines fairly and doesn't show favoritism despite whoever is in his team. The best vocal performances we have seen have come from his teams. Im not sure how he will mask Chanwoo and Donghyuk's weaknesses but I believe he might perform a small miracle on them. Thats not good.
No matter what he does, Double B's image is stronger, especially BI, I don't think the jury would make Jinhwan's team win (other than in a dance performance).
And we have seen that most iKON fans are quite oblivious of the editing, and the members' image is sadly already set, and most of the voting will take place based on those images rather than on the last performance, unless he pulls a HUGE miracle, but I don't think that will happen.
To me, the only thing Jinhwan's team can do is ace the dancing, and prepare a battle song good enough to get YG's 30% (and only if YG has not already set his mind on who he wants to see in the final lineup). And that is actually only true for the 3 new trainees, I'm pretty sure with fan votes, OT6 are safe. Those 30% will probably become the deciding factor for them.

yew no what
i dont mind donghyuk > hongseok
hongseok was literally useless this episode.
edit : oh wait no he b-boyed.
hm...
LOL! But I agree... Hongseok was even more transparent than Donghyuk in this episode, that means something.
Based on past teams, combos for next week are:
Jinhwan
Chanwoo
Donghyuk
Bobby
Yunhyeong
Hongseok
Bi
Jinhyeong
Junhoe
THIS! This would be a life-saver. Even if BI who is uping his game with each performance miraculously earns 1st, it's ok! (Sorry, I don't believe Jinhwan can make his team win, he just wants the spotlight too much and can't give it to his members)
The only reason why hong seok is not blending well is because his colleagues don't really accepts him. And that translate in his performances because his always a nervous wreck, unsure of himself. Chanwoo\jin are more at ease because their teammates takes care of them very well. YG should have never thrown the guy in mix and match. Interesting how YG is always going on and on about individual color yet hong seok gets single out for it. While everyone else keep looking like bi back up dancers.
At this point im fine with hong seok leaving. This group is gonna revolve 100% on BI anyway. We all know it. In a few yrs watch the other guys struggle to branch out because YG is too far up double B ass.
My thoughts too, did you notice when the judges left, BI, Dong, Bobby all immediately went to see the ones eliminated/crying, Jinhyeong was hugged by Jinhwan, Chanwoo was reassured by Bobby and don't remember whom, Hongseok just stood there. Not crying, not happy, not reconforting anyone. He looked completely ostracized in that moment.
Plus BI very obviously favored Donghyuk in both the vocal and the dance performance... And he's the leader, if he wants to leave someone on the sidelines, he can do so...
With that winner, ikon article saying that the other group will explore other genres while this group is going to get stuck in hiphop, I wont be really surprised if this happens tbh..
I think the first 1-2 albums will be pushed in the hip-hop direction, but then the sound will change, BI likes other genres, and Jinhwan (possibly Donghyuk/Chanwoo/Yunhyeong/Hongseok) are not "all for hip-hop" either. Latest by the time they go solo, they will stop doing only hip-hop. Big Bang changed a lot over the years too.
Now to my opinion of the episode:
I personally liked BI's Let it go xD It was the perfect audition song seriously, showing swag, belting notes, building up tension... In a performance it's awesome, on a track it would be the same kind of mess SNSD did with I got a boy though... But I agree, Lee Hi was much too present, they should have given half her lines to Hongesok.
Then I also thought Donghyuk shined, probably because BI helped putting him in the spotlight, but he stood up to it, which I thought was good. His voice is still the same, nasally and too weak to do belting like he tries to, but I thought he was ok. ESPECIALLY in the dance performance!!
I also think the biggest improvement throughout the show was Chanwoo, I mean when you start from rock bottom, it's easy to quickly improve... The best improvement though is Jinhyeong, because he is growing more stable and confident with each performance, he still far from the team B members, but he is miles ahead of Chanwoo, and sorry, Hongseok.
It's a shame Hongseok got recruited so late, because he would fit in ex-team A actually... I'm starting to think it's ok if he is not in, not because he is not talented but because iKON just isn't the group for him, just like I believe it isn't for Donghyuk. Neither of them can show their skills in that group, Hongseok because they won't let him and because he doesn't fit the image, Donghyuk because they overrate his vocal capabilities. He is not lead singer, if anything, he is like Dara, soft voice that can only do subvocal in hip-hop songs.
I also feel it's a little worrisome that BI managed to make Chanwoo fit in the first time he worked with him, but that for Hongseok he can't (or won't, which is even worse since that means the group's leader won't acknowledge one of the member, and on the long run this can't be good, and isn't something Hongseok can fight against...)
Now all this put aside, I think someone needs to explain how that performance assessment works. I understood Best vocal team: 2 members selected, Best dance team: 1 member selected, remaining 3 battle it out.
Now today, BI's team was first in vocal, so Hong and Dong got in, so far: OK.
1st team in dance was Jinhwan's: how did they end up 3rd?
Even if we consider adding all the scores up, we have:
1. Jinhwan: 911 (422 vocal + 489 dance)
2. Bobby: 904 (448 vocal + 456 dance)
3. BI: 896 (460 vocal + 436 dance)
Can anyone explain the mysterious team ranking YG did? Why were the teams scored if they ignored the scores in the end?!? What was the use of the dance performance if Jinhwan's team couldn't even redeem themselves through it and catch 2nd place?

Short(er) haired girl in the photo with Lalice
Mysterious girl in jacket next to Hanna
Unknown face that looks nothing like the 8 other girls in the pic with Rosie and Jinny
.... Yep new girl confirmed!!!!
Actually the number of "new" girls is somewhat unexpected... There are the 8 we know and it seems like there are at least 2 more (the girl next to Hanna and the short-haired tall girl we saw with Lisa, not counting the other rumors and names dropped here and there).
Didn't someone here say Eunbi was actually part of another team? What if YG has as many girl trainees as they had boys, with an A team and a B team ? I'm not saying he would do another Win (please no T.T) but still...
The 2nd 2NE1 would be C team (just like Raesong/Yedam group for the boys)...

Seems like the next gg generation is gearing into their debut, TS, Woolim, JYP and now YG, what is DSP waiting for? Sojin is not getting younger, there are still some 1992 debuting this year, but they're already late bloomers...
Plus they have all received spotlight through Baby Kara, they could be ahead in terms of followers if they were to debut soon... I know Youngji just debuted with Kara, but I don't think they can afford to wait so long before debuting the girls...
Btw hi, I've never poster here, but I'm a Yooji fan since Kpop Star, I watched DSP's show when I saw she was in it, and I actually am glad it's Youngji who went to Kara, because I think she fit the image of Kara best, while the other girls look good together, and I just hope they'll have a music style closer to Kara's Mister, Step or Jumping than the too cutesy songs Kara has done in Japan... -
I keep thinking...... there's gotta be a reason why the show is specifically called Mix & Match and not, Making IKON or whatever. Maybe YG only really cared about adding a 7th member to his new idol group, point blank. And not necessarily care about improving vocal line or adding different vocal colors? I dunno. All this talk about needing to match and blend and whatever. And the fact they never criticize Chanwoo's vocals at all........... I need to stop watching this show hhaha.
I've been thinking the same... This show doesn't seem to be "we saw where the team was weak and lost to Team A, we will improve it with new members" but "Hey, let's make something to promote a little before we debut them, but since we said they couldn't debut as they were, we'll add a member, what show can we do with that?". It's also seriously lacking in preparation compared to WIN. The way Hongseok was added for example, it's like YG realized he had just a new recruit and nothing to do with him or opportunities besides iKON, so he added him in late.
I'm also half expecting YHS to change the rules again at some point. He said the members failing wouldn't be able to debut under YG, before WIN, he also said the loosing team would be disbanded, but then he changed his mind. Maybe Jun/Yun/Hong/Dong/Chan/Jinhy (the failed 2 from this list) will actually get another opportunity within YG?
Even if they don't make the group, YG would be stupid to drop Chanwoo, who has already made a name for himself as an actor (since I believe debuting as an actor is also a debut he excluded?), Jinhyeong also debuted in acting and could do pretty fine in musicals (I don't remember well, but I think someone said he was in musicals before?), and Hongseok is not "YG style" but if not in YG, he will surely be recruited somewhere else and debut sooner or later too, why give up on him?
Actually, the Team B members are probably the most threatened if they don't make it, besides Cube recruiting them (just like for half of BEAST members), they don't really stand a chance now that their name is so strongly linked with Team B/ iKON/YG.
I don't see a 9 member debut as a change of rules, but I wouldn't be surprised if iKON ends up as a 5 or 8 member group. I'm in a mindset where I know YG will just throw something unexpected at us because that's just how he is.
-
The GD/B.I comparisons just have to stop tbh. Other than being strict leaders and very focused people they have nothing in common and B.I has enough talent and potential to make a name for himself instead of being in the shadow of someone else. It limits him.
I understand what you mean and I agree with it too. It's just that it bothers me how YG keeps mentioning it over and over again when BB got big because they were original and different from the rest back when they debuted. I think it pressures B.I even more and maybe even holds him back because he might feel like he has to do a continuation of GD's work instead of taking risks and doing his own thing. I want iKon to be iKon, not Big Bang 2.0.
These!!! We are obviously into a shift, going to the next generation of idols, and I want people to stop comparing them with the past, but it's apparently a very Korean thing to do. A Pink was the second SES, Dal Shabet the (failed) second SNSD, Red Velvet members are dubbed second Tiffany and second Taeyeon... Just let those rookies have an identity of their own!
I like Big Bang (not the more recent music style but still), and I'd love for iKON to have a similar style, but only if that fits with the members, and I really think it doesn't... The problem with YG is that he is too much in a "Hip-Hop or nothing" mindset. Recently he debuted many successful acts that are not Hip-Hop (Lee Hi, AKMU, Winner) and they were successful. I don't know why he is so obsessed with re-making YG's hip-hop reputation, I think the artist-not-just-idol reputation is much more important for his company, and this can only be achieved by letting them go for their own style. The only "true" hip-hop member there is Bobby (maybe Junhoe as well), the others either just like the style or try hard to fit in. Their music choices pretty much shows it.
Wearing baggy clothes and snapbacks does not mean someone is hip-hop nor make someone hip-hop...
Anyways, I enjoyed ep5. The performances were really nice, I'm waiting for subs to understand the judges' comments. Not a fan of the editing though, so biased and pointless. I felt bad for poor Hongseok, we see him like twice to see him get scolded, and like you all said: No Donghyuk, no New Jin...
Soohyun and Lee Hi also got much more air-time and lines than Hanna. Mnet uses the "stars" to make more audience, and completely neglects the rest. We all know Bobby, B.I., Lee Hi and Soohyun, we're not watching M&M for them (at least not ONLY for them). Why does YG chose to collaborate with Mnet for this? And why not control the editing more? I'm getting frustrated over this...

They were Oh yeongkyeong and cho Seunghee. Left in 2012. Both move to CCM Ent later. Yeongkyeong debuted with the Seeya and Seunghee in f-ve dolls.
The other two are Seunghee & Yeonkyung they're with CCM now.Seunghee is now part of 5dolls. while Yeonkyung is part of both Seeya and 5dolls.(Yeonkyung = 2:27 // Seunghee = 2:34)Thanks! I guess all groups have a lot of line-up changes during the training period...
(Why CCM of all companies?!? CCM is really messy...)

Hi all

I've been a lurker here, but since the girls are debuting soon, I decided to post
I've liked Jiae ever since "You're my oppa", and I loved her "Delight" song. Even if she isn't a vocal powerhouse, her sweet voice is really charming!
I don't know the other members much, but I'll get to it, can't wait for their debut! And I like Radiance for the name
I've been wondering, there was that Running Man episode with the girls, are they still in the lineup? Here they are, I can only recognize Jiae, do you guys know who the other 2 are?

omg we do have same thoughts about the members.. especially how Yoyo is pop-ish like Hanbin.. One reason I am voting for Yoyo is that he is a match to Hanbin just like how Seok is a match to Jinny. Junju on the other hand is a match to Double B.
Good to see someone else has the same opinion ;) I never thought about pairing them up like this, but it's kinda right... But where do you put New Jin? Poor boy needs to pair/thrice up somewhere too!
As Penna mentioned above, Team B.I is going into the battle with a huge advantage by having Lee Hi. It's kind of unfair
Hayi has talent in arrangement and she's been dabbling in composing/writing for her future releases. So, both Hongseok and Donghyuk will be in good hands. Exactly what I was thinking! Why put Lee Hi with B.I.? It's like creating a super team... I think Lee Hi would have been much more needed in Jinhwan's team seeing how they performed in the pre-match. (I love Soohyun, but I believe her brother is the producing/image-making side of AKMU, not her...).
does anyone else feels like the episode so far have been a bit meh, like they try to put to much in one episode that it just ends up being too little
YES! Well, the show's name is not "Preparing iKON for debut" but "Mix and Match" so we're seeing the mix and preparation for the match. I guess the next show will be iKON-TV to let us know the members better... YG is logical like that, first we have to vote for members we don't know, then we get to know for what we chose (then again, the other way around wouldn't be much better...)
It's probably also because the show got delayed so much, they filmed a lot and need to show it all in a limited time.
-
Just adding onto the debate with my impression of the members:
- Hongseok will definitely bring something different to the musical identity of iKON (if he has a personality strong enough to push for it, which I think he has... I would love if iKON has a few softer songs, it doesn't have to be ballads, but R'n'B for example). His problem is whether he can be hip-hop for the group as well. Only time will tell

- Jinhyung is very much into his maknae-ish persona and I can't say what he actually likes, which I guess is his weakest point, his lack of "identity". BUT he is cute, and no matter what we think, visuals play a really important role in Korea. If he can blend in, improve after debut and even develop his own musical identity along with iKON's, then why not? What Jinhyung brings to the table is potential. It can work out, or he can just become a second Donghyuk+visual.
- Donghyuk is pop... Which is not necessarily a bad thing, he will definitely makes iKON's music more mainstream, but I'm not sure that's what iKON is looking for. In the end, his biggest weakness (besides the limited vocal power and quite regular visuals) is the fact that pop is not what YG aims for, and Dongie can't stand out in this group. I believe he would do great as a sub-vocal in a 2PM-ish group for example, but not in a hip-hop group. Maybe I'm wrong and next week he'll show huge improvement as well, but he seems to have reached his limits...
- Yunyeong is a stable sub-vocal, he is musically very BI-ish, not as hip-hop as Bobby, but hip-hop enough. Plus he is smart and outspoken, which I believe is a very strong point for him. He is not someone you forget and is slowly gaining momentum within the group. (Even B.I. said so, he was the leader of their latest unit, he trained and encouraged Chanwoo, and no matter what we think, it earned praise, so he must have done it right). And I think he is becoming the group's fashionista...
- Junhoe: Do we need to question that? I don't understand why he wasn't given a permanent spot. After the 1st episode, it was clear he would end up in the group. He has a strong vocal identity, he is a real showman full of charisma, and he has a personality and presence within the group that make him stand out. (In his unit, he seemed more like a leader than Jinhwan...)
- Chanwoo has the likeability factor, and is making his own way through the show. His strong point: he is a good student. Seriously, he learns fast and well, and knows how to blend in (which is why he keeps on surprising YHS who apparently has no expectations of him). That's also his weakness, he has no outstanding quality, which is actually our/my problem with Donghyuk as well. I think it's a shame, because the timing just isn't right for him. He is too young to be much more than a bright maknae. He is probably too old to join the next YG generation (with Raesong and Yedam), but he would definitely need some time to mature and develop his own style and presence (just like Yunyeong did after WIN tbh).
So to me, Yunyeong and Junhoe are definitely in. Hongseok is a good option but I need to see more of him to make a definite decision.
Donghyuk/Jinhyung are a 50-50, I prefer Jin because he has more potential to grow than Dongie.
And Chanwoo... Well I like him, I won't hate him for getting in, I would actually prefer him to Donghyuk because I'm pretty sure he has more to show, I'm just worried he won't have time to get to it before the group's debut...
On a personal note, no matter the final result, I don't plan on stanning the group if they don't deliver with their music. I have a preferred line-up, but even if another line-up ends up debuting, if the music is good. Fine with me
(oh wow, sorry, that is a lot more text than initially intended)-

I like making lists

My ideal group so far : B.I., Bobby, Jinhwan, Junhoe, Yunhyeong, Jinhyeong, HongseokBias list:
1. Bobby!
2. Yunhyeong (He really is the good surprise here!)
3. B.I. (Because I feel for him, he just has too much pressure...)
4. Jinhyeong (It's all for that mole xD)
5. Hongseok (with a high potential to get to position 3 after the next episode^^ For now he looks a little too insecure)
6. Chanwoo (he is cute! Plus he is young and he just started training, he might become really good later on!)
7. Junhoe (That damn personality...)
.
.
.
8. Donghyuk9. Jinhwan
The last two are non-existant... The last unreleased video was about them and gave them some much needed spotlight, but still not enough for me to really care about them.

Hi guys, I am quite new to being active in OH, sorry for never posting here before.
With season 4 starting soon, the "ready" season 3 members are starting to debut so I've been looking into what happened of the top 10, and I thought maybe you can help me find out about the "forgotten members".
So we know:
- Bernard Park is in JYP (debuting soon?)- Sam Kim is in Antenna
- Kwon Jinah is in Antenna
- Almeng is debuting under YNB soon
- Jang Hanna is training for YG's new girl group- Jung Sewoon (Something) was recruited by Starship (which is still a mystery to me, ok there is K.Will, but also Sistar and Boyfriend, I can't see him fit in there)
- Kim Ahyeon (Something) is under Luminant Entertainment (a no-name company), has released one song and does covers on her Youtube channel. (Which is a shame, I loved Something...)
- And Nam Young Joo just made her debut under JJ Holic Media.
That's quite awesome (adding the Chae's, under JYP and YG), but 3 are missing, I hope you can help me fill in the gaps for them:- The shorties: What happened to them? They were 4th, I can't believe they weren't recruited (even if I don't want them to be separated, I at least expected one to have been recruited...)
- Han Heejun? Not that he needed Kpop Star to debut in South Korea, I'm wondering why he hasn't debuted yet...
- Bae Minah? I loved her voice, I was really hoping JYP would recruit her, he seemed to really like her...
I see some posts about Hong Junghee above, wasn't she also recruited by Antenna?
-
I'm still convinced the next on the line is Bernard Park. I don't know the details, but I think it's contractual, the winner of Kpop Star has to debut within the following year. Promotional-wise, it's best if he debuts right after Kpop Star 4 starts, because the hype will be back and fans will wonder what the last winner has become.
Or right before Kpop Star 4 as way to promote the show, "Here is last year's winner, watch out for season 4, who will be our next superstar."
So my guess is either Baek Ah Yeon (since we haven't had anything but OSTs from her for over a year, plus she's and ex-Kpop Star too so in the right timing to promote) and then Bernard, or a holiday month for JYP (who I believe is already filming for Kpop Star and doesn't have that much time to do more) and Bernard.

I know he is not that good (yet), but I'm starting to hope Chanwoo gets in. He can be the face, the member that will go out on shows and stuff. He is a bit shy and awkward, but he speaks well and respectfully, and he proved he adapts fast (I mean after the criticism of not fitting in from the vocal trainer, he did work hard and earned praise for it in the end). Plus in the first interview, when they presented him, he didn't look that nervous or stuttering, he looks so shy because he doesn't know the others yet.
I'm sure he can promote ikon well and become a unique maknae.
Sorry for bringing another group in here, but in 2NE1, Dara isn't exactly the most talented member nor a good talker, but she is hardworking and the likeability factor is very important in her popularity too. When she's on talk shows, the mix of her 4D personality+shyness is just so cute and effective.I'm waiting for Hongseok to appear to make up my mind, because I will only trust his abilities after he shows them. My stand for know is OT5 (without Donghyuk) + Jinhyeong + Chanwoo.
I'm still feeling sorry for Donghyuk, but he just has no presence or above skill. He is really just the nice boy of the group (and we have skillfull nice boys already). He should just show us something! Be funny, a fashionista or play violin, I don't know, just something so we stop identifying him as the boy with the chin -___--

Hi all, I've been a bit of a lurker these past few weeks here, and finally decided to post.
I watched episode 1, and besides the annoying first 2/3 where nothing happened, I felt there was quite some interesting things about the members' characters towards the end. I have been quite disappointed in B.I., who I thought was a great leader but in the end is "just" a kid (which he is allowed to be, but well, it looked quite bad as the leader) and Junhoe (because of his statements about the new trainees and because he looked quite narcissistic in there), on the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by Bobby and Yunhyeong, they seem nice, active, cheerful in every situation. No comment on Jinhwan and Donghyuk, I feel they don't stand out much in personality or skill, though both seem the shy/nice/calm types so far... I might change my mind later on?
I watched WIN before, but I was a Team A stan, and wasn't really interested in knowing the Team B members (which is also why I have like no attachment to ot6). I got on the team B train with SMTM3, and reading all your comments here, I thought I needed to check back what the members' skills were in WIN. I just watched the compilation of their singing and here I am with my own little comment.
I have to say, I like Yunhyeong's tone more than Junhoe's, he sounds smooth. Sure, it's a bit pitchy, but that's something he can work on (hopefully he is not tone deaf... ^^'), in WFM and in some WIN songs, he sang the second or third chorus instead of Jinhwan, and I think he does a pretty decent job and could definitely become a good lead.
And Junhoe is main material for sure, he is stable and has strong voice. His tone is also distinctive enough to stand out. I agree he should be in, but damn that personality... Hope Mnet will show some of his good sides <.<
As for Donghyuk, he seems much nicer than Junhoe, but I think his voice is really too thin for a vocalist, and I don't think he is a visual good enough to become the face. If one has to be eliminated, then probably him.
I can't judge the dancing at all, because I have 2 left feet and I just get amazed at whatever move they do, be it easy or super-complicated. But to me, it looks that all 3 do a fairly good job in following the moves, and their sound comes before their dancing for me anyways.
I can't wait for ep.2 to finally see Chanwoo's and Jinhyeong's skills. I have a feeling Chanwoo is a secret weapon. I don't think YG would add him just because he is a known face, and he is on the younger side to be added last minute like that. (I'd be disappointed if it turned out to be just a marketing move to add "Lee Minho's younger version" to the possible lineup)
And I really hope Jinhyeong is good, because it would be a waste if such a cutie didn't make it (that killer smile, seriously!)-

I was just thinking, not only for YG, has there ever been a survival show for girl groups?
I can think of one for Big Bang, Winner/ikon, 2PM/2AM, VIXX ...
Recently there was the one to select the new Kara member, but the other girls were not thrown out of DSP, and the goal was not to make a girl group but to select a new member.Am I missing one? I feel it would be quite new to do it for girls...
(I'm not really wishing for one though, I'd rather he did a surprise debut when nobody expects it anymore, like just in between two comebacks this fall)
-
Btw I never posted here before, been lurking for a short while... I'm waiting for the girls to debut too, hope it won't take too long

I think debuting either this fall or early next year is Bernard Park, isn't it? He is the winner of Kpop Star 3 and has to debut soon. Jimin and Akdong both debuted just before/during the following season of Kpop star, and Kpop Star 4 is scheduled for November.
I guess it's either Bernard first, and the girls early 2015, or the other way around.

Hmmm perhaps Pansy got upset or jealous that fans were talking about and praising the 8 girls so much when there are truly 9 that she leaked or gave someone permission to leak her photo on a Korean site. O_O
Do we have a list or at least the number of trainees accepted from the Hong Kong audition? Because apparently one of the new Mix and Match members for team B is from that audition, and since we have never seen that Pansy girl around the other members, I am doubting her existence...
Then again one of the Mix and Match trainees came from the same audition as Chaeyoung, so who knows?

Do you have this video? I did not get to see, I was curious

Hi
I've been lurking for a while, just wanted to introduce myself once too. I hope the Uniq or Pink Punk or Cherry Bomb, whatever the final name will be, will debut soon. It's frustrating to look for crumbles of informations here and there to try and understand YG's plans. And thanks for the pictures Jiljin. Am I the only one thinking it's quite funny that Hana's style changed so fast? A few weeks ago, her sense of fashion would have made it impossible to mix her up with Lalisa, with this dress/shirt/black thing, she looks very YG

Sorry, English is not my first language, I'll try to rephrase.
I meant that even if Jinhwan pulls a miracle on his next team (Donghyuk and Chanwoo), it probably won't change much in the end-result. BI is completely acknowledge as good leader by everyone, and they will make him win the vocal part just because he has to be THE leader. Bobby could potentially threaten that just because he won SMTM3, and his very popular atm, but I really don't think so...
The only thing Jinhwan's team can win is the dance part, because it looks like he is the better dancer in everyone's mind.
So preparing for the final match, rather than overworking on the vocal competition because of his frustration (which is being 3rd place twice in a row), I think he should do quite the same as for the 2nd match: work the dance, and his members should work on their individual battle song.
But then again, I don't understand the ranking in the 2nd match, because for me he was a clear 2nd place based on the points.
And the second part of my post meant that with 100% fan voting, OT6 would be safe and that only Hong/New Jin/Chanwoo will really need to battle it out with the individual song, but YG and his 30% can make a difference here and create an OT5+2. I don't think that any member outperforming himself can make a difference in the fan votes. Their character is already set by the bad Mnet editing and too many fans believe it as it is, and most of them seem to root for OT6+Chanwoo
This is all speculation, but considering the next teams will be BI-Junhoe-Jinhyeong, BI-Yunhyeong-Hongseok and Jinhwan-Donghyuk-Chanwoo, if we were in a 100% fan-voting, the scenario would probably be:
- Jinhyeong and Junhoe (BI team) in,
- Yunhyeong or Donghyuk in from the 2nd team,
- Chanwoo-Hongseok-Yun/Dong battle and Yun/Dong in
=> iKON OT6+Jinhyeong.
I just don't know how/when YG will show his 30%, but I imagine that is how he can vote "out" Yun or Dong in favor of another trainee, for example if he selects the last member as Hongseok instead of Yun/Dong (selecting one member would be 25% vote though, not 30? Sorry I'm not so good in math). Or does he plan on using 30% in each step, vocal performance, dance performance and final spot battle? Because if he does, it means he basically has the power to select ALL the members, +30% for someone is huge! This 70-30 thing is really bothering me xD
