  1. Tbh, I don't feel like it's Chaeyeon either... Something feels off, but mostly she doesn't follow any ex JYP trainees. Eunsuh would be the least, and Eunsuh follows back every ex-trainee she has met. Until either account is followed back by a credible source, I don't think we should jump to conclusions...
  2. JYPE never makes statements about trainees. Theoretically, we shouldn't know anything about them besides the ones who went through a survival show or public audition or well the girls from the stray kids' episode. Everything leaked from showcases is meant to be secret. They didn't even make a statement when Lena left, even though everyone knew about her from her featuring in Sunmi's song...
  3. I just meant that I keep thinking of Miss A Jia first when I read it. I don't mind part of their name is similar, but Jia Yu is her full name, not just Jia. It's a bit awkward to see her written as Jia, that's all I meant. Since waitingfordebut is writing all the other names but hers fully, I thought it might be a confusion, that's why I pointed it out... ^^'
  4. I'd say fake account, the profile picture is already in a circle. Must have been captured from somewhere...?
  5. The first center gets major spotlight at the beginning of the show, which usually translates into airing time throughout the show. We've seen that the more time on air, the higher your chances of making the final lineup. In the end, skill or beauty matter, but by far not as much as being entertaining and having a storyline that people want to follow. Even without being center, there were at least a dozen girls like Sohye in season 1, but for some reason, PDs decided Sohye would be the one and spent a whole lot of time showing her growth every episode, which built her fandom and ultimately got her a spot in IOI. Being the first center is a big deal, because it comes with exposure and the needed spotlight to stand out from the crowd.
  6. Tbh, you say that because Japanese comments are not translated. Both sides are quite racist towards the other. There is a strong anti-Korean culture (Kpop, Kdrama etc...) movement in Japan as well. A lot of history... Not like I mean to make a history lesson, but it would be interesting for you to research where the resentment comes from on both sides. Overall, this show is quite a serious gamble. It could work because the PD101 franchise is strong, but it could totally flop as well. As you have seen in this thread, what is expected from Korean idols vs what is expected of Japanese idols is quite different. It will be hard to find a middle point where everyone can agree on the winners. I stopped knowing AKB when Acchan graduated ^^' And even while she was center, I barely knew her and Ooshima Yuko and 4-5 others... I'm learning with this thread xD
  7. It's weird they avoid the question, but Mashiro still being in Korea isn't really... If her dream is to be a Kpop idol, it's much easier to audition while in Korea than in Japan. I also don't think the trainees who live far from home are kicked from the dorm right away, they are most probably given some time to adjust and audition elsewhere. JYP is known for helping trainees not making the final lineup find another company to train at (another reason why so many ex-JYP trainees debut in other companies). I wouldn't read too much into her still being in Korea or writing in Korean. Years after having left JYP and being back in Japan, Riho sometimes still posted things in Korean on Instagram. It's how they can talk with to their Korean friends, nothing shocking about that either...
  8. You forget the 3 winners of the big girlgroup audition, who probably became trainees + Hyewon and Eunjin... They're probably in the lineup for Sixteen 2 before the 2004-2006 liners
  9. Now that you guys say it, maybe we have no news about Soyeon and Yujin because they're preparing for PD48... But.. please no Fave..
  10. The reason they're not allowed SNS is to control their image. You can destroy your image easily when young by doing a slight mistake on SNS. Look at Somi posting that pic with alcohol bottles in the background... It was pretty harmless, but there is ill-intention people who just wait for things like that to destroy your image... Somi has a fandom big enough to protect her from most of the backlash, but other random trainees might not. But I understand wanting the slight hope... I'm just lucky my biases are not among the 3 who supposedly left, or I'd be like a lot of people on this thread. For the longest time I refused to acknowledge Sookyung had left ^^'
  11. Probably real: Hanseol, Yejin, Sunmin Probably fake: Yuna, Yeji, Ryujin... anyone else... Sunmin is likely not thaaat good in english, and liked the comment because it seemed like it was supporting her? Traditionally, trainees are not allowed to have accounts. They use it to announce they left JYP (or YG actually, funny enough the trainees there do it too), not necessarily in a specific post, but since fans know the rule, it makes sense. They know fans are only waiting for news + it gives them some freedom to get away from some of the fans who are too invading. They often close the account later on either to keep on in their private account or close it because they joined a different company. Now if it's some sort of pre-debut promotional tactic , wouldn't it make more sense to somehow identify the accounts as part of something? Like all having the same first picture, or having a similar account name? Or at the very least make them add "JYP" somewhere in their bio? That would actually signal that things are moving into a certain direction and would be used to hype fans. Just opening the account like they did rn being usually perceived as the trainees having left the company, there would be something missing to promote...
  12. I have my doubts about Hanseol's because of who she follows and then she uploaded screencaps of Dani's instastory, which felt slightly awkward. But then again Allen is following her...Sunmin's... The pics she posted look like her but not to the point where I can say I have no doubts about it, but then again Eunsuh follows her. Yejin's seems real, she follows a lot of "random" people, as in not stars but regular classmates. And she follows Hanseol and Sunmin's accounts, she would know... Everyone else seems fake... At least until they post an actual never seen before picture where their faces can be seen clearly
  13. Okay... Either this is a promotional tactic, or a group of fans is having a lot of fun... Idk anymore... :O
  14. Nope further away is what I meant. So many high profile trainees leaving is a lot uf you're planning a survival show... So yeah I feel JYPE is selecting the lineup behind the scenes...
  15. I think we're talking about the same 2, if you say big surprise. Not gonna name them cause I don't want to start a rumor among ifans while their is no proof. It's to find on DC for those who wonder. And yeah for the pics, one looks like Sunmin but not the 2nd one, it's weird^^' but if Yejin and Hanseol left, it doesn't come as a big surprise. Feels like we're getting further away from a survival...
  16. She just identified herself in the suspected IG account Hanseol followed so... Looks like it.Damn... Knetz suppose 2 more girls left with no proof yet. I hope not... EDIT: well it looks like her but I have doubts looking at the picture closer^^'
  17. Fantastic 6*?^^ YG didn't start the survival thing with Winner and Ikon. Big Bang, 2PM/2AM went through a survival too. To some extent even WG's debut was sort of a documentary/survival when Yeeun was selected to join. I agree there are way too many survival shows now, but for big company groups, they are definitely a good tool to get the public involved and engaged even before debut. You just have to select the right format. The way JYP went back to a documentary, not involving public voting for Stray Kids was definitely interesting and it would be a lie to say it played no part into making the group's debut big. If you look back, the voting in Sixteen had no consequence on the lineup, JYP was chosing the lineup all along. It helped them see who was popular and who not to miss, that's how they went from 7 to 9 members... Sixteen 2 should go for something in between I think. Not fully documentary, because we all knew even after Minho and Felix's elimination that it was all for show and that sort of killed the hype (at least for me), and not fully survival like Sixteen was (I'm forever bitter Chaeyeon was eliminated on a pointless mission super early into the show before we really got to see her perform...) I'd rather have less girls at the beginning, so the show has time to introduce them, and JYP locking in some of them, and the public voting for the last spots, or something along these line. Sixteen 2 could be Fourteen/Thirteen/Twelve and that would be fine by me. Debuted artist is not just about being a singer. Somi has been in a ton of CF and ton of variety shows. She has an official JYP page with her schedule... She has actually debuted as a singer with IOI too. She just hasn't debuted as a singer in JYPE, but she is definitely a debuted artist, just like Eunsoo or Sieun are. Lily has released music under JYPE, but she has no official profile or anything on the company page, so weird enough, she is "only" a trainee compared to the other 3.
  18. A lot of trainees leave when debut is approaching and things starts getting real. Especially for trainees like Hanseol, who joined very young, they can just realize that debuting as an idol was not the dream they were after. Jeongyeon's sister Seungyeon trained for very long at SM and when debut started getting closer, she left, because she felt like acting was more suited for her.JYP is also known to put a lot of pressure on trainees, even more than SM (according to Mone), so a lot of trainees also leave when their contract is over because they can't take it anymore. Wanting to be an idol doesn't necessarily mean you are psychologically cut out for the pressure of being in a big 3 group, which is what happened to Mone...
  19. I sort of did the same, but trying to be unbiased (emphasizing trying, because I know I probably am not)
  20. Just putting it here to save it. OP updated, even though the thread is pretty much inactive ^^'
  21. I'm happy with that. I follow too many threads as it is and often just skip to last page instead of reading through, I'd rather have it all concentrated here than add one more thread ^^' But I'll follow what the majority wants...
  22. :( I said before, when there are HUGE expectations on a group, like on this group right now, the cutting line is very strict to make the lineup. Any girl not adding A LOT to the group will be cut. It's why I wanted 2 groups... Here, we have Somi, Ryujin, Chaeryung, Lily, Eunsoo/Sieun who are big contenders who each bring a following and/or core skills. Adding Yeji and Shin Yuna who clicked well with the public with just a couple of public appearances (more so than Yejin, Sunmin or Hanseol), eventually Jia Yu/Mashiro/Mako for a more Asian internationality (compared to Lily and Somi who are more oriented towards "western" countries). I have a feeling it will be 7 members or less among them... Sure JYPE has more gems in his trainees, and lots of girls will end up very successful in other groups. Would Hani or Hyolyn (among others) have been as successful if they had debuted in a JYP group? We'll never know. But it's not like JYPE needed them and was wrong for letting them go. All the girl groups they debuted have been successful even if they gave up on a trainees like them... I wish Hanseol and Yejin all the best, I hope they'll be able to follow their dream with another company...
  23. Well, no official confirmation, but it's definitely true. That trainee from 1:54 to 1:57 is talking about training with Blackpink, it's definitely Jinny
  24. Korean alphabetical order and yes, they're in Korean alphabetical order. Its quite funny it follows their age so closely^^
