IΓ’β¬β’m going with 1980s New Romantics synth pop. Think Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Purple Rain era Prince. Whatever was poppinΓ’β¬β’ in 1984.
i'm not into it. they look like retro clowns. everything from the styling to concept to the way the boys are posing are awkward and unpleasant to look at.

I don't think this is what it is, but this just got me thinking...wouldn't it be awesome if that's how they did debut their new group? In the U.S. it's pretty common for new, up and coming acts to be introduced to large audiences through their more famous counterparts as "opening acts" at concerts, etc. I think that would be a cool, unique way to introduce the group, but the fandom will likely take it the wrong way.Β

Tear is a song where its essence lies in delivering the story and emotions so I don't think its the kind of song where people just chill and listen to.
The lyrics carry the verses, not the other way round so I don't feel like listening to a rap song but a dramatic recitation that is done in the form of rapping with classical music in the background.
The chorus or hook can sound repetitive though, like it is with most bangtan hiphop songs

The verses are what makes the song for me
The only thing I could think of ppl not finding pleasing is how Yoongi approached his verse and the pitch distortion/auto tune but imo itΓ’β¬β’s what makes it so refreshing because he went with something new

so i like the opening, but idk i'm just not feeling joon's part. feels like he's trying to rap as fast as possible and it just doesn't flow well with the song. the "you're my you're me tear" part at 1:25 sounds a little awkward and at 2:06/3:44 just sounds bad to me. generally i like yoongi's verse but in the middle it of it falls kinda flat, and 2:54 - 3:00 it sounds awkward and out of place. j-hope's part sounds good but 4:23 - 4:30 i can never take seriously, it just sounds ridiculous lol.

i always see o lot of people praising outro: tear, which is great but does anyone else not really like it? it's gotta be my least favorite track. like the instrumental is great but the rap parts just sound... not pleasing to the ear?

The Darkest Minds is being made into a movie?? I can't believe i didn't know about this, thank goodness I stumbled onto this thread haha. Imo The Darkest Minds is one of the better YA dystopian trilogies out there and I'm glad you're enjoying it!Β
Yeah in August! I finished the book today and it punched me in the face. It's definitely one of the better YA novels like you said. It was very refreshing!

Started reading The Darkest Minds in anticipation for the movie and I'm actually surprised by how much I like it. I'm pretty much flying right through it despite being a slow reader lol. I'm a little more than half way through so far and I'm hoping to read all the books before the movie.

Also remember that album she was confirmed to be working on by SM in 2016, delayed to 2017 (along with Seohyun) and no news since.
