  1. This is my first post in over a year on this site. Kinda left once 4minute broke up. Glad to see this thread is still going :D
  2. I've been gone for too long. Glad Jiyoon is back.
  3. Ah, okay. Did seem like something was lost in the sauce
  4. Same here. Even if she was talking about herself, seems that way to me.
  5. Not sure if this has been talked about, but did I mishear this or something? To me. it sounds like BOA (Spica) is saying she likes girls...or maybe she likes girls that look like boys? Or maybe she's talking about herself? The context is a little fuzzy. I don't know how to embed Gfycat videos... https://gfycat.com/AdmirableFlickeringArmedcrab Edit: After doing a search, it looks like you guys have been saying this for years. But this kinda confirms it if I'm understanding her correctly.
  6. Solbin being an MC isn't really helping because no one watches music shows.
  7. Very true. International fans can be just as bad.
  8. But it is super frustrating. I feel like content is king in the western music scene. A big name helps, but newcomers often shoot to number one on the billboard charts. That only happens in K-Pop when the group is from a big company. It's like the smaller groups don't have a chance. Like 20 hours later, Laboum's new video only has 76,000 views on 1thek, a channel with 4 million subscribers. Just shows that people are choosing to ignore them. It's hard to stay optimistic when it seems like the system is designed to keep these groups down. I get the impression that the public can't think for themselves, they just follow trends. Mamamoo and Gfriend broke through, but that's more to do with their companies connections and celeverness and not their songs.
  9. Yeah it's all about brand recognition. I float between randoms so I'm not super biased towards Laboum, but I honestly think this is one of the best releases of 2016. It's very well produced and catchy.
  10. Man, this song would chart if it were by another group. This is one thing I really hate about K-Pop, great songs rarely help smaller groups become bigger. No, they need viral videos or members.
  11. The gun stuff is no big deal. Tons of idols play with colorful guns in their videos, they aren't American, so who really cares? It's just lighthearted fun.
  12. I love the new song! Very upbeat, great sound!
  13. This was played a lot a few months ago. Everyone was reacting to it. Here's the stream: http://www.vlive.tv/video/12685
  14. Yeah, they just randomly said it during their V Live stream. Then I found this from 2014: https://twitter.com/gebabyk/status/501971644538052608 She would've made a cool edition to the group. Wonder what happened.
  15. Wait, I didn't know Grace used to be in their group (before they debuted).
  16. This thread is moving too fast. May have to unsub for a minute because it's flooding out my other notifications lol. But I'm loving this comeback! Glad it has everyone talking!
  17. After typing that comment I went to Makestar and saw that Rainbow has already raised $42,000 for a photo book and they have 17 days left. So I guess that record will be beaten soon lol
  18. Does Stellar have the most successful Makestar campaign ever?
  19. Sorry if you took offense when none was intended. "I won't knock anyone's preferences." I'm aware of everything you just said. Please, don't read too much into something clearly labeled as a rant. Edit: And this is a serious comment. It just sounds a little snarky. I truly didn't mean to offend anyone or imply that the Big Three groups don't work hard. This is K-Pop--all the groups go through hell to debut. Thanks. And it's a good song. I'm still enjoying it too.
  20. Ha, yeah. I won't knock anyone's preferences, but I make it a point not to "Stan" trainees. Some fans are just addicted to the new, K-Pop is a 24/7/hype cycle, and they're always looking for the next big thing.
  21. Mini Off-Topic Rant: That's the thing I hate most about K-Pop. The western music industry doesn't really have "Company Stans." No one cares if you're signed to Virgin Records, Atlantic, or some random indie. Everyone has to prove themselves. The same isn't true for this industry. YG, JYP, and SM "Idol" groups are basically guaranteed success. I'm not bitter--I really enjoy most of those companies groups. But I hate when fans on here try to pretend that their idols are prettier, more talented, etc. No...they're just signed to a label that guarantees instant fame (they just ticked the right boxes during the audition process). If YG had signed every member of Sonamoo, placed them in a group, and gave them any old song--they'd also have an all-kill. That's why I don't get into debates on here. Some groups like EXID and Girls Day had to really earn their fans, while other groups just hit the jackpot. I'm not knocking those groups, but I hate when fans try to flaunt that success.
