I mean, we did have a Pokemon in Gen 1 called "Mr. Mime" tho I actually like Type: Null's name. It's categorized as THE Synthetic Pokemon and is basically a chimera hybrid of different parts of Pokemon, so I can see why they chose the name for it

There's also been a lot of speculation going around that Gladion, Lusamine AND Lillie are all related. And that Type: Null was made by the Aether Foundation to counteract Legendaries and such. Seeing as how badly they 'supposedly' treat Pokemon, Gladion left and took Type: Null with him only to join Team Skull. And seeing as Team Skull seem to oppose in the Aether Foundations beleifs, the people of Alola have revered them as the 'bad guys'. How Lillie ties into to all of this is that she left Aether for the same reasons as Gladion but followed a different path. The Aether Foundation also experiments with Ultra Beasts. And seeing as how UB-01 closely resembles Lillie, there have been speculations that UB-01 is in fact Lillie or Lillie's DNA was used to model UB-01. But who knows! I'm just so hyped that it seems like they placed a lot more of an effort with the story and lore in this game than they have in XY. I just wanna play the games already!!

As it honestly seems like Team Skull are just misunderstood individuals who might hold some animosity towards the people of the region. Being as Guzma was rejected from being a trial captain and all.
